The only people who have mentioned Brexit are the remainers who are making a false claim no doubt for their own reasons. As I am not your mate and don't even know you why should you think I was your mate? |

Which bit is lies re Fauci? It’s obviously bollox that Brexit has allowed anything, but why does Fauci’s comments imply lies? They (the US) are being castigated internally for being behind the UK in approving this. He’s just lashing out. It’s quite genuinely pathetic actually. We have a hugely robust process here - more so than pretty much anywhere else, but, unlike the US, where the main approvals bloke is currently on holiday, they have moved heaven and earth to shift as fast as possible. You realise that in your usual attempt to knock everything, you are undermining an incredible, world leading effort by our regulators and falling into the antivaxxer nonsense.

Lol. Alright Res? How’s the little one? No more little than the others anymore I guess? On the vaccine point, Fauci is implying we haven’t gone through a proper authorisation process. It’s dangerous bollox and I’ve no idea why Kilk is posting it in support of some crap about Brexit. Quite obviously the utter nonsense about Brexit meaning we’ve done anything more quickly is, as usual, utter nonsense. Which you’d expect from Rees Mogg who along with the vast majority of his Brexit loving chums has the intelligence of a potato.

Not being in the first group to have the vaccine might not be a bad thing unless you catch the virus in the meantime.

So they should be. There are 262 covid patients in Swansea Bay Health Board Hospitals. Keeping the staff safe should be a priority and will avoid spread to vulnerable patients also,

That is just ridiculous and purely an assumption on your part. Do you take students away from their course for a year specifically to inoculate people, possibly longer. The NHS in this area are asking staff who no longer "work on the wards" and are in administration if they will take a secondment for 12 months, to start, to work on the inoculation program. This is going to be a long haul.

Little ones are great thanks. How's tricks with you? Still living the executive dream in the smoke? To be honest, I haven't gone into much depth with the why's and wherefore's on this roll out and hadn't seen Fauci's input until seeing it on here, but he's stepped in line with EU criticisms and for me, under this government, I worry about ulterior motives, because the usual suspects didn't waste any time in a co-ordinated Twitter assault claiming victory for the UK. How sad, a vaccine with German, Turkish and Belgian fingerprints all over it has seen an attempted hijacking by the crooked lost emperors of Brexit. It doesn't have to be this way.

Aye - still here. Although it’s been a while since anyone lived much of a dream... The usual suspects are a bunch of complete morons. This vaccine, as with the Oxford one which has been done with large input from Italy, is a case study in what can be achieved when nations work together rather than set up their own narrow minded little fiefdoms. If this was down to the useless wasters we have as a government everyone should be sceptical. I have trust though in the scientists and doctors who have approved this. The doctor from the MHRA, Dr June Raine, spoke really well yesterday I thought. I’ve a deep mistrust of the US in all this, who, as far as I can see, have a vested interest in the vaccines from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson at the expense of the Oxford and BioNTech vaccines. Or the profit from them, at least.

The expert scientist is Dr June Raine not Jacob Rees Mogg. Any EU country could approve for their own use. They’re doing it as a bloc as smaller countries do not have the expertise to do this themselves. We are pushing on partly, I suspect, due to potential concerns about interruption of supply come January 1st.

It’s my understanding Wales is looking to prioritise front line NHS staff and care home staff as opposed to care home patients on account of the difficulties with storing the vaccine and shelf life once defrosted. I think that makes total sense. I feel for the care home residents, but If we can inoculate the carers and continue the shielding we should be able to keep the residents safe until the second vaccine is out. It should also keep the NHS staff safe so that we can get back to a more business as usual service, restart scans, tests and treatments for those who are seriously ill.

The problem is the hospitals have so many coronavirus patients which is leaving little room for other treatments. A few days ago Swansea Bay Health Board had 262 coronavirus patients in its hospitals and according to Wales Online cases have been rising again. Treatments are still ongoing although some of it is by phone. I spoke to a nurse over the phone and my sister in law went to an appointment on Tuesday. Getting the numbers down is vital so other treatments can be given though.

I thought it odd myself that a vaccine with German scientists of Turkish descent behind the creation of this particular vaccine, that there was work carried out in Belgium and that an American pharmaceutical company is looking to produce it, yet seemingly we are looking to roll it out before those countries that are directly involved in it........hmm

That may well be the case, but if we can’t immunise the staff there is a risk that hospital based infections will continue as the virus circulates amongst the staff. Getting the numbers down is important, and people need to listen to the advice, but if we have the Oxford vaccine it can be given to patents to reduce the seriousness of their infection. There isn’t an easy answer, but having the workforce available to work and do what their trained to do is a good starting point, if they are off suck it won’t help anyone.

NHS staff will no longer be among the first people to be vaccinated against Covid-19 after a rethink about who should be given priority. Hospitals will instead begin by immunising care home staff, and inpatients and outpatients aged over 80. The change is likely to disappoint and worry health service staff, some of whom had already booked appointments to get immunised.
