Yes, very well done for buying a vaccine produced by our EU friends. Clever people in the EU see.

They’re not though are they. I’ve never understood this argument. If local people want house prices lower so their kids aren’t priced out of the market, they simply have to sell their houses to a local at a lower price rather than an English person at a higher price. No one is forced to sell their house at a higher price. So the only ones actually pricing locals out of staying local are the other locals.

On one hand you criticise prats like Rees Mogg for politicising the vaccine and in the other hand you do the same thing. There are also hugely clever people in this country who have worked their backsides off to create a vaccine. It will be the one that most people here end up having. And most people in all developing countries in the world. In fact, it will be their main salvation as the Pfizer vaccine will be of no use to most of the world. Why undermine the achievements of our scientists to score a point against someone over bloody Brexit? People need to grow up. No one on this board was more anti Brexit than I am, but the argument is over. Attempting to score points at this stage, particularly in a situation which is quite literally life and death is pathetic.

In fairness to him, it's difficult. Just take a look at this Board for example, I've been away for 2 years and that shitty Brexit thread is still going. I don't think I've even read more than 10 pages of it in total. Old Keith is locking down threads for fun, i'm hoping - no, I'm praying that b@stard gets the chop, quick as. It's just idiots with no prior political persuasion jumping on a bandwagon and feeling they finally belong somewhere. Happy to be used, abused, lied to because it presses the intrinsic nationalistic buttons that were all too easy to exploit. It's natural to combat this bunk. That's all this is. Society won't heal itself in your lifetime, we're too far gone, not unless there's an absolute catastrophe. Might heal itself in my lifetime though... the beautiful spring chicken I am.

Yes, that’s fair. I haven’t looked at the brexit thread for ages. I’ve not been around for a few months and I can’t imagine there’s anything new that’s been said, but it’s the same old same old. It’s the same as the Trump lot. Whatever evidence comes out showing that Trump is an amoral, reprehensible, lying grifter happy to destroy American democracy to line the pockets of him and his horrific, criminal family there are some on here that will still reckon he’s right. Same with brexit. However many hits there are to the UK economy, however many jobs go, however many price increases or shortages, those for whom brexit is a cult, will never accept it.

Quite a few areas higher than that, Kent has 2 areas in the 490s and high 500s. There’s high readings in Boston Lincs too.

Its not quite that simple Just 8% of affordable housing stock is in rural areas. Typically, rural housing costs about 11 times the average salary of people working in rural areas. In the central Lake District, house price to income ratios are even higher, at 12 to 1. “People who buy a second home for the weekend tend to have quite significant resources, so they may be happy to pay a premium to acquire the house they want,” says Matt Thomson. “Holiday lets are popular so that pushes prices up, too.” Then when developers think the time is right to build they do and sell their stock above the average house prices which in turn raise the costs for everyone. https://nation.cymru/news/sene [Post edited 4 Dec 2020 22:30]

Blaenau Gwent the first county to confirm early school closures. I’m sure there are local reasons but to me that’s a big call.

Couldn't agree more, i can only imagine this to be like 30's Germany without the ever depressing social media sites. How easy has the web been to exploit these people though. The first thing I would do if I was in power - correction - when I'm in power, is to make all social media sites only accessible with ID verification. It won't stop it all but it will ensure a more fair debate of the issues.
