Being told if they boo the knee gesture they wont be welcome at the ground.
I wonder if we are not too far away from ejections from the ground for booing?

OK I've changed it.

I do yes. Not just Marxism but what they stand for as a whole with regards to the family unit and their role in the year of mass rioting. People don’t like it.

I am someone who considers things carefully and makes a decision before jumping in, hence why I knew the roots and the current aims of the organisation. So neither of those options I wouldn’t have thought.

Yes it is, it is the biggest US politics market globally, second largest sporting market globally (certainly in my company chain) although possibly third now that regulations have relaxed in the States. I may know a little more than you on that one mate, what you reckon? After your last rant I blocked further updates so I won’t get your texts but once you have returned to your normal self I’ll probably revise that.

I have always had good knowledge of politics, certainly in the last 3 years or so where I have been providing markets to sister companies. I have never made the tea and went in at the top level due to my experience. Probably the same reason you got your gig. It’s how it works.

Yes I have been to a Roar game, they are awful. Happy to go with a game with you and yes we can go on their forum if you like I’m sure they would be glad of the figures. But you would have to be a bit friendlier on there so they don’t think we are nuts.

Absolutely you cutting ties with them is absolutely your choice, I’m not having a go at you for that. But I’m just saying that we aren’t going to agree politically either so it’s down to you if you want to continue being civil to eachother or not, I have no issues with differing political views. But you do.

Well I had no inclination you didn’t believe me on certain things, hardly makes it worthwhile talking then really does it? Or asking me anything at all. I have no interest in convincing you or anyone, you make your own mind up.

Who am I influencing? I am giving my view. Aren’t you influencing people by insisting BLM is not a political movement? Or does that only work when it’s something you disagree with. Seems a odd stance to take.

It may be boring to you, but then again as I have said several times now, I think you love it. For all your protestations of how bored you are, you have spent the majority of your time on here talking to me and on politics threads. Don’t you see the contradiction there?

I agree with Britt Assombalonga, it's time to stop empty gestures nd take action. The big question is just waht should that action be?

Taking the knee has become a pointless gesture, we stopped clapping the NHS for the same reason.
If individuals want to do it then fine but to pressure everyone into doing it is wrong, what about freedom of choice.
When Colin Kaepernick took the knee first, it was nothing to do with BLM but they managed to get themselves inextricably linked with it. That's maybe why it's time for a change because many people, myself included do not agree with BLM.

All racism is wrong, wherever it comes from, whoever it's directed at, it's wrong. The only answer that makes sense is education. Causing further arguments and more division is not going to stop racism. You cannot force people to change their views and the more you try the more entrenched they become, usually.

So, we should allow individuals to do what they choose, take the knee or not, link arms or not and we should educate more about racism, about what it means and why it's wrong.

Picking up on a point I read, I wouldn't dream of dumping any friend because their politics are different, not unless those politics led them to law breaking anyway. Doing so, to myself anyway, displays a lack of tolerance.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Some people like it, some don't.

You've said your point (would you at least agree with that?)
I've said mine.

Do I accept your point? Yes, ok, do I trust it or you. Probably not.

You should know more than me on that point but we come back to the issue of trust. It's hard to know if you're trying to make a point or making it up. I'm happy to be put firmly in my place - send me the evidence.

You blocked me. You don't get on with the real world so much do you.

You're a typer not a talker. Wherever you are on the spectrum it clearly helps with the betting loopholes and tossing the coin statistics. Also, I've seen your career progression I know you didn't go in at the top. You were an international jet-setter and pro gambler courtsiding tennis matches and making a few quid after a promising amateur playing career. You don't become 'Head" from that.

Always had or in the last 3 years? Quite the climbdown there but it would point out why you were completely anonymous in the debating of Trump during his first 2 years in power. More honestly would be it's something that's triggered you lately and in true Dimi fashion you've thrown yourself at it. Immersed yourself in all the usual echo chambers with the same talking heads and it's blown your mind.

Betting is betting - you aren't a political expert because you can spot winning patterns from the screens you stare at. Do you remember what sports you were monitoring the last time we spoke?

I am being civil to you. I am asking you not to pummel people in South Wales with conspiracy theories. Make your point and move on.

I have made mine. I maybe have influenced someone but probably not. I am not repeating the same old story over and over. You are missing out on Summer there stuck to your phone 24/7.

I just want my E20 back. Is that so much to ask for? x

'Taking the knee' is in the perception of the public related to Colin Kaepernec and Police brutality against Blacks in the USA . This gresture was reinforced by the gruesome images of George Floyd being asphixiated by the US police force. It was a very power ful mix.

THe FA pen pushers by one simple decree (not well publicised) cannot sweep away this connection with one signature on a statement written on a web page somewhere declaring that "taking the knee" means something else.

If Ayew, Guehi, Routledge Dhanda and others are concerned about this I recommend that Mr Winters arranges for them to meet the head of the South Wales Constabulary to discuss the data and work out what where the SWP can improve their performance.

THe FA are misappropriting the 'take the knee' true meaning. From what I read there are no serious issues of police brutality against ethnic minorities in South Wales but I stand to be corrected on this.

Exactly, so we need something that everyone likes. Because racism is something that can only be combatted together. Any external thing that causes mass division should be tossed out immediately.

That’s a shame you don’t trust me. I’m obviously not going to send you company figures. I worked in London for the biggest company in the country, and second biggest in Europe... you honestly think I’d move 10,000 miles away for a step down? Think about it.

Population is irrelevant, most countries have strict betting regulations and rigid business models. I’ll give you an example, in London the biggest single transaction I took was £50k. On this election I took a single bet of $1m. It’s a rich country with a business model that adapts to that. But you will just have to not believe me on that one then. I did go in at the top, companies HQ. Yes I’ve been promoted twice since but the top is working at HQ, I progressed to head from there.

Nothing to do with not getting on with the real world. In the last 24 hours you left me a ranting voice message and rang me in the early hours of the morning when my missus was sleeping. You are passionate, I understand that, but when you are in these moods it can be a little overbearing. Like I said when I get my Res back and you get back to your good natured self then I will revise that, you know I will.

Always been politically sound. But in the last 3 years I have been paid to be obsessed by it and the last 2 specifically my career depends on being obsessed by it. Of course you have to be an expert to be a political lead, you can’t set prices for hundreds of obscure markets in a multi million dollar industry unless you are, or you certainly wouldn’t last very long. Who do you think does that, the politics fairies. If they exist point then my way as it would make my job far easier.

What are these conspiracies you are talking about anyway? I genuinely have no idea, I’m not one for conspiracy theories. Do you think saying BLM is a political movement is a conspiracy theory? Because it really isn’t.

E20 is here mate, but we aren’t always going to agree on everything. When the political climate cools I’m sure focus will be shifted back to football and we will get on once again.... like the match later. I’ll be getting my much publicised 5 hours sleep and meet you in the match thread. How does that sound?

A person's politics tells you so much about a person's character though. It's how they see the world and other people (and who they don't consider to be people at all). Drawing the line only at "breaking the law" is a strange one, to me. The law (be it that of the UK, international etc.) isn't synonymous with morality or ethics.

But they only opened in Oz a few years ago. So the HQ there was once Bookakers.au not who you work for now, that's irrelevant just because your Company wanted to expand into the Ozzie market.

Your Mrs is Oz - you lived there before. You took a job to go "back home" mate.

And haven't you got to be careful with influencing and talking about politics especially with your promotion of one of the candidates in particular? I mean what if that guy who placed a million dollars found out the top man was trying to influence people online?

If you are serious about your political aspirations and job shouldn't you be more considerate and neutral?

Sorry if I woke up your poor Mrs but I didn't realise the time over there and with you on here so much I didn't realise you were doing that alongside her in bed. The other voice message wasn't a rant. Just asking you what's the matter with you and why you are now spreading conspiracy stories?

You could always have just gone into a different room and we could have tried to understand each other, that's normal isn't it?

The matchday thread I don't really visit too much mate, I am watching the game then. Maybe we can Zoom in and watch it together. I am sure we'll sort this out.

Of course it is allowed. The taking of the knee is "anti police brutality" mainly concerned with black people in the USA. Just like Cameroon of the Sudan it is a foreign country.

If Swansea s black players want to take the knee in Wales they are by conection protesting against the SWP. I want them to be entirely happy that in south Wales there is no such issue and if they are still concerned they can have a meeting with the Chief Constable or the Police Commissioner and go through the figures

Swansea players need to make a statement that they have no issues with the SWP or take it further.

Nope I came over in the company I work for now. I entered HQ in London I’m now HQ in Oz but a lead role. My missus is not Australian, she’s English. I took the job because it was a massive step forward, and will be making another one in the next 12 months if Covid permits in the States. Not sure what your issue with this is to be honest. You don’t begrudge someone that do you?

Not at all. My views are my views, it’s only your opinion that I am trying to influence people for whatever reason you think that is. As I said, this is a forum designed to exchange views. If you think I’m influencing someone then I would only be doing that because I have made a valid point? If you don’t think it’s a valid point then put a counter forward. Easy.

Apology accepted, yes I was watching the Leicester game. I could have gone into the other room yes but as I told you, it wouldn’t be productive because I know what you are like when you have a difference of opinion. I’m still not sure what conspiracy theories you are talking about, it’s bizarre and you have said it a few times now.

But I don’t think we are going anywhere fast with this mate, you?

It is always amusing when a counter is put forward in cartoon or meme form. I find it very intellectually disingenuous.

Very rarely have I seen a sensible counter be put into actual written words to why the knee is so important when it’s clearly so politically divisive, when another more unifying act can be undertaken.

Sorry, as soon as I wrote that I wasn't sure if she was English or Ozzie. But you lived there before and you were going back home in effect. I was fed up by the time I left there, too many Ozzies but it's still a fantastic place to be.

I don't begrudge anything anyone, as long as they're being honest.

Yeah it's easy to say that. You say a lot. Over and over again. But you are also taking huge sums of money off people so I don't think it's ethical to go out on such a limb where you are willing to trawl through any amount of echo chambers to get people to see your point.

That's not betting then - that's cajoling.

Were you watching the Leicester game on mute? What did you think of McBurnie and Brewster? You got a dodgy stick?

I think we are getting to the nitty gritty. It's good to talk to you properly again.

I wasn’t going back home in any effect. I had lived there previously yes, but my home has never been Australia and it still isn’t. We are British our home is the UK where I was... I left to come here for professional reasons.

It is a fantastic place to be but lacks history which is something you tend to crave after being away from it for so long. I am very much looking forward to my next trip to Europe whenever that will be.

Betting isn’t ethical in many people’s eyes, that’s just the way it is. Thankfully it doesn’t stop people from having opinions and discussing them. As I said, if you don’t see my point then put a counter forward. It really is that easy.

I think you would get a lot more out of this forum if you actually discussed the topics as opposed to making personal remarks to the people giving theirs. Maybe that’s why you find them boring? I’m sure you would have a lot to offer.

No, your home wasn't in London when you were watching the tennis markets, your home is S W Wales. You left to take another tennis job in Oz.

Loads have put their points across to you. You have repeated yours as much as Trump won the election. A LOT.

Come back to what you know, theres no point effing it all up for the kudos on a message board.

Million dollars mind, got to say mate, that's the big time. I would love to do what you do.

So if someone here was to protest human rights violations in Belarus they would also have to make a statement about their local MP's human rights record and go have a chat with him to see if he'd been hitting his wife (again)?

Yes, The UK. My home isnt and never has been Australia and never will be. I am here for professional reasons, neither of us are Australian. I will also be leaving for professional reasons.

Which points have been put to me? Can you remember any? Feel free to add yours, then you may actually enjoy these threads you claim bore you. But in keeping with the thread, I don’t think you are being very honest with that and do in fact enjoy them.

This is what I know now mate, like I said people adapt, grow and have different interests. Politics is part of my daily life and interests and my posts on here probably reflect that. But like I said, it’s a hot political climate at the moment and I’m sure it won’t always be this way. I said 6 weeks yesterday and I stand by that, come mid Jan it will be a lot quieter.

Yes it’s staggering the sums people risk, especially here. But they tend to be big company owners that deal with America and are mitigating potential tax hikes on their businesses I think, depending on who gets elected. It’s essentially corporate hedging. In the UK they wouldn’t even entertain accepting such an amount, different mentalities. Culture shock for sure.

Mitigating a tax hike on their business by betting on an Ozzie market on the presidential election in the US? WTF?

Is betting an allowable expense over there?

Are they trying to force the price down to make one candidate become more attractive looking to voters in the streets of America? This is an interesting tactic, you'll have to put more meat on the bones.

And similarly, is that what you are doing? Were you trying to artificially fix a betting market by repeating stories from Bannon and Twitter?

That's bloody mad isn't it?

No wonder you don't go on local Ozzie forums. But hey, their loss is our gain isn't it.

You coming home for Christmas mate? You didn't say?

Yep, they will be international business with the owners residing in Oz. Higher taxes/tariffs means lower profits, which means lower dividends. Guaranteeing a return on the candidate that will hamper their business is normal practice. Not sure what you mean by driving the price down to look attractive to people in America?

I don’t think you can affect a multi billion dollar market by speaking common sense on Swansea Independent mate, what you reckon? Which Bannon Twitter link are you referring to exactly? Or was that just a generic thing to say? There has been a few of those flying about the place recently so hard to keep up. Would still like to see you put some counters forward, maybe something we can work on?

No won’t be home for Xmas, I’ll be in the heat. Which is odd at Xmas I must say. Right time for my famous 5 hours.

You can't guarantee a return on a) the candidate or b) their betting stake or c) their Company profits.

It's a punt mate, it's not an expense, a Company strategy or Corporate hedging. All a big bet on a market can do is drive a price in one direction or the other.

So what are they really trying to achieve? What are you sort of suggesting is going on with such big stakes related to power control? Bit dangerous isn't it?

I was going to say you should be hitting the sack earlier tonight old pal. You sound exhausted and I think you are getting confused and into some weird bloody territory.

Log off form here, get upstairs with the English Rose, give her a good old Welsh cwtch and sweet dreams to you buddy. You need a rest x

Again not sure what you are talking about, you seem oddly untrusting. It’s fairly straight forward, a company is going to be affected by tax hikes if candidate A gets in. The owner mitigates that by backing candidate A to make up some of the potential personal losses they would incur by his/her business being affected. If candidate B gets in they lose their million but is the preferred outcome as their company earns more in the tax they now don’t have to pay. As I said, it’s normal practice has has probably been going on for decades.

A million dollar bet wouldn’t affect the price of a US election market at all, in fact it didn’t. The US election is one of the most rock solid markets there is, it reacts to events not weight of money (or posts on Swansea Independent). There is $3 million waiting to be matched on Biden with Betfair right now if you can find the cash, you would need to bet the whole $3 million just to move it 0.01 and even then a new multi million lump will replace it so it goes back to where it was before you placed your hard earned on it.

Anyway, until later.
