QPR v Swansea City Saturday 26th December 2020 Loftus Road Kick Off 3pm
Match Officials To be confirmed
Recent history The first game between the two sides was in 1914. It was in the FA Cup. 31 Jan 1914 Swansea Town 1 Queens Park Rangers 2 This was before the first world war and the invention of the iphone 6. In fact even the iphone 4s.
29 Sep 2018 Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers 3-0 League Championship 13 Apr 2019 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 4-0 League Championship 21 Aug 2019 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 1-3 League Championship 05 Jan 2020 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 5-1 FA Cup 11 Feb 2020 Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers 0-0 League Championship
The last game between the sides was a 0-0 draw. QPR had already knocked the swans out of the FA Cup after the swans had won at Loftus Road a few months before. The last time before 2018 the sides met was in the Premier League in 2015. The game ended 1-1, earlier on that season the swans had won 2-0 at the Liberty.
Everyone's favourite Swansea City player of a certain age will say Robbie James was a class act. He also played for QPR and went to Wembley with them. Above is when Robbie was a panini sticker. The oddest thing about Robbie was he only gained five Welsh caps. Remarkably Jeremy Charles was also a Panini sticker, he also played for QPR and went to Wembley with Oxford United.
What do we know about Queens Park Rangers ? not a lot, and that IS the link really, if you add up the year QPR were formed which is 1882. So, 1+8+8+2 it equals 19. And that's no surprise as 19 is the average IQ of the smallest team in London. They have ( not unlike Cardiff) small team syndrome where they try and persuade everyone they are a big club, but fail time and time again to prove it. Their fans are all employed by McCains chips. However, because they are so thick none of them are employed by McCains chips. The idea is they can get access to the biggest chips for their shoulders. McCains Chips, every QPR supporters dream job.
Apparently Christmas is a time for goodwill to all folk, well, not for QPR , when Jesus and Moses got all pissed up once they wanted goodwill to all men by all accounts, that is except QPR, in the bible Jesus makes this more than clear, QPR he once said, are shite. QPR are the worst team in London except Brentford who are not as bad as Chelsea or Tranmere, the last town isn't in London but if it was it would be. Tranmere are as good as Arsenal on a good day. QPR are not, their fans are also very sneaky, and five of them are called Pete, their favourite hobby is hiding behind the police outside a pub so they can safely shout abuse at visiting fans. They did this last season and all went back in to the pub very quickly. They are the new Crystal Palace in that respect.
Great QPR players Talk Sport sexist Rodney Marsh also played for QPR Stan Bowles apparently was good if you are over 60 and bored, but he was good, better than you anyway. This is Tony Currie, another old man who played for QPR, Tony's dad invented the balti and vindaloo varieties of curry. Tony doesn't like curry but loves a scotch egg. He was a great player, but not at QPR, well, a little bit but he was great at Leeds and Sheffield United, both of which are quite close to west London, give or take.

This a discussion? Ok I 'll join in. Yet again more Cooper love ins. It's embarrassing.
No subs again ? Why? I know ,we can't question the managerial genius that is Steve.
Yesterday, first half we couldn't get anywhere near QPR who hadnt won in 7 and got out of jail as their strikers were disgustingly inept. Derby was exactly the same only they took theirs. Derby since haven't exactly blown team away either. We have had good fortune and it might run out.
Why do we have this attitude against teams that are struggling?
Happy to be second. It's still December ffs.
Norwich lost yesterday and this league is there to be won and it wouldn't take much for u to storm it. Hopefully, we can.
Why play lots of subs when we are control? You only need to play subs if you are losing or drawing and want to go for a win. Clearly you start with your best 11 why weaken your team later on. You dont get more points for playing all your subs.

Felix
Why,to simply rest players when the job is done-and it was.
I 'll ask you this ,in good spirit, why NOT use subs when the players are playing so many games.
Why do the top managers always manage players fitness/health.
Im rather cynical as regards Steve's usage of subs . Ive not yet got over taking Lowe off to be replaced with Routledge.
I m putting on a tin hat as we speak having had the cheek to criticise the great Wayne

Simply to give your fringe players valuable gametime as they need it, what happens if lowe or ayew get injured? We stick cullen or gyokeres in who have very little gametime and are very rusty due to cooper keeping the same 11 on the pitch then they get pelted because they arent scoring goals, the same can be said for palmer.

Indeed Eddie.My point.
Players have to be managed to maintain their highest level of performance.
We have no back up really for Lowe and Ayew.
For me,not to look after them is madness. I cannot fathom why anyone would not want to use a bench full of fringe players to ease the load.

I understand this view point although disagree with it
Scenario: we are 2-0 up and the manager changes three or four players and we end up at 2-2. It happens. It’s not as easy to influence a game from the bench as you might think.
Our manager is very quick to change things around when he needs to eg Derby
He doesn’t make changes for the sake of it. In the main the same 13 or 14 players have started games with the rest as good back up. The squad is not as big as some seem to think . The players not being played will however be fresh and raring to go when needed and they have to be ready ( fit ). albeit not match fit.
I’m firmly in the camp of keeping your foot right down on the pedal. SC is doing a brilliant job so far and that’s not in doubt. I can see one or two fairly knowledgable people ( Jasper ) having a constant dig at him which means he has a motive. I’d like to know what it is. And then the clueless ( one hung low ) which is an irrelevance. He calls our players cowards and thinks it’s acceptable. Anonymously.

If OHL is clueless why are you and your cadre of chums so obsessed. Not a week goes by without a thread of defamation /filth aimed at me on PS. You gorge on it.It shames you all.
I view matters as fireboy does.Exactly the same .
Hate is not a word I would use for Cooper nor Woodman and you know it

Yet you find it fine to defame the manager and players every week, your latest diatribe is that we are only second through good fortune.
Why not be more positive instead of the constant negativity.
And no I don't suppose you hate Woodman, you just call him a coward
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Why don't you simply put me on ignore if you are so offended by others. I thought you were a class above the rest . Absolutely he is a coward and one who is quite prepared to ee his defenders getting the knocks he would have.If I were Bennett,Id be askin why he doesnt come for corners and stands motionless ,as he has many times,as the ball has been stroked past him.
I hate many things but Fred Woodman is not one of them, neither was Mark Gower,Pablo or routledge to mention 3 overated beauts.
You really need to think before adding to thread with simple abuse

I have never abused you Perch, I just don't agree with your views on our Club, and Woodman can't be that bad as he has only conceded 12 goals in 21 games.
And Martyn Margetson the England and our goalkeeping coach rates him highly.

Yes he changed things at derby because the attacking players were knackered and the oncoming players did naff all, I wonder why?
Imagine this scenario, we are 2 nil up, cooper throws 3-4 players on at 10 min intervals therefore not upsetting the balance of our team too much at one time, we go onto take the game to another level because we have fresh legs on and we score 2 more goals, these 4 players have got 15-25 mins gametime which will help their match fitness, you can train as fast and as hard as you like but it will never replace match fitness, match fitness that some players are getting too much of and some nowhere near enough.

Not entirely true is it though.
I have never insulted Fred as a man, certainly, as a player and a coward is pretty aposite for me as I see him as a paid employee of my club.
Margetson rates him? So what. ? I defy you or anyone not to have butterflies when Fred is motionless when all sorts is going on in front of him.
In that regard Cabango has been staggeringly proficient and brave a has Guehi.
I have to point out Bennett had real pelter after the Derby game;just 1 poor game when the lad has been tremendous for us but receives not a fraction of the love reserved for Fred.

Well then you’ve gambled and it’s worked ( in your scenario )
But you didn’t need to throw the dice. That’s the difference.
I see your point of course but you’re looking for things unnecessarily I’d say. At least you’re making your point sensibly and with respect unlike one hung low. ðŸ‘

2 - 0 up and with 20 minutes to go Ayew and Lowe could / should have been replaced. They contributed very little in the latter stages especially defensively so little chance of a QPR come-back. The bench players would have been given some time to get into the game and prepared for when they are needed. Vik and Cullen would have been as effective holding their defence back and might even have added to the goals for given their fresh legs and space being left by QPR. Routledge would have added creativity and held the ball upfield and Garrick's pace would have caused problems to a team pushing forward to get back in the game. What will happen is when fringe players are needed they will be rusty and fail to perform then get slagged off and dropped. There is also the man management aspect - the demoralising effect of only being put on when the team is desperate and losing or spending endless hours travelling and sitting on the bench when you know you will only get on as a last hope throe of the dice does nothing for the player or team moral. A huge opportunity missed IMO

It’s just sad that you’re using a debatable subject (at best) to have a swipe at our manager when he’s doing such an excellent job
Of course there’s merit to what you say but if he was making obvious mistakes I could understand a bit more your need to have a go at him. But he’s not, and the Swans are flying. Enjoy it.

Correct. Never have. We have a great players but don't have a great team --- like Monk's picks up points but isn't good to watch, poor man management, quick to take praise but quicker to lay blame elsewhere and has little to offer long term. BUT The point I made has nothing to do with not liking the manager. 20 minutes to go game all but won, replacing two front players with two front players would give tired minds a break, give other players a run at competition level and incentive to improve. Standard management procedure.

You really don't do yourself any favours, Derby had played one game since beating us, yesterday and went down to 10 men after 20 minutes and lost 1 nil.
Your hatred of Cooper and Woodman is baffling, 2nd in the table, and the best defence in the football league.
And as for yesterday, another cracking 3 points on the road, 2 more games to the halfway point and we are amassing a points total that if repeated in the second half of the season would give us an excellent chance of automatic promotion.
Why on earth is a manager getting praise for doing a tremendous job embarrassing?
He didn’t like Lowe for a bit also. I’ve never seen him do anything BUT complain - the negativity got too much for me so I put him on ignore about a month ago. He tries to justify himself by saying everyone has a right to opinion which of course they do but to be so negative in the face of 2nd place despite a -45 million transfer deficit is unreal.

Bit part cameos don’t really help fringe players gain form. They can have the reverse effect and damage confidence. I think all the fringe players will get a start at Stevenage and they should be hungry enough to perform well enough to give the manager a selection headache, which they clearly aren’t at the moment !
