Benda is working with Cooper and Margetson for the first time. He is working on a daily basis with Woodman to learn drills and techniques for corners freekicks etc defensive walls. The Swanse defence coaches appear to prefere their keepers to stay close to the goal line and leave the bulk of the defensive work to the very capable back 5. At swindon Benda may have been asked to be a sweeper keeper. |  |

Newcastle expect Woodman to play every week
TBF one has skills the other could do with and are on balance evenly matched.
As Benda has a fairly serious injury it may well be a good time for both parties to strike a deal.
Both, in goal keeping years, are still in the nursery so plenty of time for Benda to develop into a first choice. | |

Margetson was already more than happy with what he saw from Benda when he returned from Swindon. Had the deal for Woodman not been so straightforward we'd have been relatively content with Benda as first choice. To suggest there's been some grand improvement due to our coaches to make him deserving of a deal is off the mark.
