To be fair Cat,neath and his ilk are in a masive minority.

Most welsh people have no such feelings for England and vice versa.

We live in the border land and the Welsh flock here for everything from new trainers to chemotherapy. north Wales could not survive -health sevice wide-without the services provided on Merseyside.

Many serious road accident victims end up here as do kids in a bad way going to Alder Hey. No cymrophobia evident there.

Apart from sporting rivalry ,we get along just fine .

Only the faux posh jerks in south east England truly show us contempt. Ive met this on holiday-last year in Barbados ,this time of the month actually, patronising pyss taking but with a view to belitttle. That is red rag to me and I had to be dragged away by Wifey again.

Frankly, she aint so keen on the Welsh ,come to think of it.

You are absolutely bang on regarding NHS specialty/provision that English services provide to Welsh patients.

The Welsh NHS relies heavily on specialist English services and that should not be forgotten. Or never forgotten!

And to those idiots who think Cardiff centric Welsh Government would ever care for the rest of Wales, only have to look at a SW Wales/Swansea regional head/professor's protest resignation on lack of vital equipment provision.

Ditto lack of vital equipment provision for North Wales also e.g. it required charitable fundraising from North Walians so they could be treated closer to home, as opposed to further away at Clatterbridge on The Wirral.

To think some want to give them yokels in Cardiff Bay more power, absolute joke! They preferred Cardiff white elephant extravagance, regional-apartheid and ego-tripping to the wellbeing of non-Cardiff residents....Not damning enough for some common sense free loons!

My email to Mike Hedges during the consultation period to discuss the location of the major trauma unit for Wales

"I wonder if you could share your thoughts on the forthcoming decision regarding the new Trauma unit who's location is currently undecided . I believe there are two options currently available ,one at Morriston Swansea and the other at the Heath in Cardiff .I would like to think that the decision will be based on the needs of the whole of south Wales including the west and mid Wales where in the past so little thought appears to have been directed when it comes to those unfortunate not to live within a 30 mile radius of Cardiff .There are currently two units in Bristol which I’m sure could accommodate those unfortunate enough to need that level of care , all within a more than reasonable travelling time for all concerned within that catchment area. As my MP I’m sure you’re aware of your responsibilities to your constituents and will vote to ensure that we in this part of south Wales receive the NHS support that the area deserves ".
Yours respectfully

Dear Mr
I was born and live in Swansea and currently reside in Ynysforgan
My initial reaction to any proposed development is that I would like it in Swansea
This is no different
My thoughts are
Whilst it is difficult to respond to a report not yet published

Questions I will need to ask are

Will a major trauma unit affect general A+E waiting times
Will it reduce the number of beds available for non urgent surgery
Will its staffing effect the ability to carry out other medical interventions

What I will oppose is any suggestion that Burns and plastics or any other critical service is removed from Morriston

Yours sincerely
Mike Hedges

No follow up response to date has been received but we know the outcome

A Swansea/SW Wales delegation carrying 105,000+ signatures concerning a local NHS service was made to stand outside Cardiff H.Q in the cold, that says a lot about their concern towards us all.

To add to that,we live pretty near to a hospital that treats Welsh people, the air ambulance often flies over with kids to Alder Hey as the Welsh health care is not good enough and any specialist brain, heart and cancer treatment is on Merseyside.

Far from trying to promulgate hatred towards the English ,it should be a case for Welsh people being eternally grateful for England literally saving countless Welsh lives .

I just hope this site is not viewed by English people simply browsing around

So my son shouldn't have the right to make choices that will affect his future? In fact not just my son but no child in Wales should be allowed that choice?

It's a bit backward looking isn't it? Complaining about it being bullied out of us, about bending over and taking it?

We can't change the past and the way I feel the only people who are making me bend over and take it are the Senedd, and people like you who would deny the choice.

If Tom down thr road wants to learn Italian and the school has that as a choice, yes he very much should be allowed. It's his life, not yours.

Well no.It seems he HAS to learn Welsh like it or not,be patronising and live and work in Wales purely because he was born there.
We are seeing puerile stuff here.

And ,many other things too.

It is still highly rated a a tourist destination and has recovered from the socilait lefty filth f the Hatton era. It s regenerated in a way my home city could only dream of.

My home city was once renowned for great shopping,a vibrant town centre and a place to be proud of,not exactly what i seen now.Take Gower from Swansea and you have a low waged, decaying hulk of a place which was pre eminent . Read what locals opine before coming up with that crap you do when you feel defensive about yourself-and you do.

Liverpool has 500 000 people so plenty of shyte.

Fact is .Swansea ha a masive drug taking problem so maybe that should be solved then the people -the city-you detest ,wont ee the market for flogging drugs.

Now then..up next, Bristol,Birmingham,London?

If you are really Welsh AND British then you are not ruled by another country. Wales is not rued by an English government but by the Uk government.

The UK is my country every bit as much as Wales.

My grandfather was Royal Marine Commando in WW2, he is my hero also. He didn't fight for Wales or England but for Britain as I'm sure yours did.

So what am I not seperating? It is not me that uses what could be taken as antagonistic language towards England.
England and Wales are seperate countries but we are both in the UK, it is our country.

That's what puzzles me about Europhiles who same the same things about indy, being in the EU means being ruled by others, did you call it the English old boys club? Well Europe is a different sort of club but the same thing applies, the rules we'd live by, inside the EU, would always be decided outside Wales.

We have several devolved areas, but there is no getting away from it, we are still being governed from Westminster.

I've no idea why you are mentioning your grandad? I brought mine up to try and put it simpler for you, that i don't hate the English. I've not questioned your belief on the matter.

You seem to equate people who would like to see an independent Wales, as being people who hate the english. It's a lazy comparison to make. I can't help it if you feel it was antagonistic language, it wasn't meant to be. But it's similar to people who feel offended, I don't care. But take it from me, I do not hate the english people. On the other hand, I want any english sport team to lose to whoever they are playing. What box does that put me in now?

There you go again, assuming a people feel one way about Europe as they do about being under Westminster rule. You should stop doing that, you'd be surprised that many people don't fit into the little stereotypes you've got going on.

I'm done with this thread now, I can't be reading Perchys bitter and twisted cowardly posts any longer. He's got serious issues him.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I am not doubting that Liverpool has some nice parts, good history, and is a nice place to spend a weekend (keep your wallet in your front pocket). Some nice people too, some very friendly.
But it also has some very dodgy people who lead a life of crime. A lot in fact. You know that though Perch.
You sound like the kid in the yard who is always running to the teacher. Calm down.

After this ,I feel I must get back over to Liverpool and disassociate myself with friends of 40yrs plus having been advised by people who simply are beyond the pale. Most British cities have problems and I'm not saying for a minute that that is not the case , but county lines drug dealing is organised crime initiated by gangs , and to pretend otherwise is a slight to those families affected by the scum. For for clarity, my feelings are not selective against a particular region , I hold the same opinion regardless of where ever or who ever they are .

Of course they should.

Its a gift.
Its not instead of English, its as well as English.

It makes learning other languages far easier as a direct result.

The welsh language deserves the active support of everyone living in Wales - speakers and non-speakers.
