There have been talks and D.C. United manager David Kasper has confirmed it. Washington Post - “It’s an ongoing discussion,” Kasper said. “They are up against a clock with the [transfer] deadline. So it’s something obviously we’ll be engaging with Swansea in the coming days.” Again, I reckon this is an American link and not something Cooper or Marsh / Scott are involved in yet.

Fact is if he had anything to offer he'd have played more often. Same applies to Arriola now. Manning has started the last 2 games. Latibeaudiere has played plenty too (even had some high profile mistakes). |
Arriola has plenty to offer but not had a look in. Lowe is out on his feet. Instead of having two fresh palyers Copper has one exhausted and the other demoralised. Its bad management. Manning is deep into March before getting any sort of run. Cooper only rotates centre backs those tht riun less than anyone else.

How do you know he has plenty to offer? Have you actually seen him play? DC Utd are not exactly great, so what are you basing that opinion on? The fact that he's had international caps alone? USA regularly play teams like Canada, Cuba and Belize and select domestic based squads, so i wouldn't look too far into that. Manning has needed to have a run because Bidwell has performed very well, and now Manning has started the last 2 games. Don't know why you keep bringing him up. Lowe probably wouldn't have played as many games, but as we know unfortunately Morris got injured. And again Lowe was benched for yesterday and brought off early in the week.

At the time there were so many players playing poorly and making mistakes every week and remained undroppable while Peterson made a few mistakes against Brentford and despite being otherwise very sharp was immediately hauled off and never seen again. Yeah. Whining that a player he'd barely used was leaving wasn't a good look for Cooper.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

His main gripe was how the departure was handled though wasn't it? And that was surely a justified gripe.

Player wanted to leave, club happy to recoup some of the expense of buying him, manager mildly inconvenienced by the timing and not being able to keep all the toys that he was definitely going to play with right that minute, honest. Look beyond the manager's bruised ego and there was nothing justified about his complaint.

I know because Cooper has described him as a good player he has bag of caps for the USA and he has been working hard in training. Cooper also described him as professional and very keen. Ayew saifd they were struggling v Boro because of "tired legs" and Cooper says it does not matter if players are tired. I can understand 20 years old not getting a run but 25 years olds intenrationals like Arriola Manning and Freeman makes no sense.

Cooper would and have to say nice things about players in the squad. But if he truly believes it, you tell me why he hardly ever plays. As you say he's been training with the squad long enough where he should be up to speed. The most logical explanation is that he isn't actually very good and even our lethargic starters will do a better job than him. This is like banging my head against a brick wall here but Manning has started the last two games. Do you not realise that? Prior to that, Bidwells done nothing to suggest he's tired as he? Him and Roberts are so important to way we play and are so fit, they don't need nor would we want to rotate them much. Calls for Freeman to play are simply bizarre.

Something is not quite right if playing one of the 25 year+ January signings is seen as bizarre. Cooper actually signed the player. What for exactly? He was thrown in v Man city 4-5 weeks ago with little or no training. Cooper is not treating these players properly. Its Coopers job to keep the players fresh. The logical explanation is that Cooper does not believe in resting players and rotation. This could cost him and the club dear. Ayew has already blamed tired legs for the most recent statel performance where Swansea struggled against a fresher Middlesborough.

I can only assume its for the most dire of injury crisises. Rusesha is long term out and he was on the cusp of breaking through so just a bridging signing I'd say. I bet even Latibeaudiere and Naughton would start ahead of him if Roberts gets injured. Yes, played against City to rest players in a meaningless game that was already lost. He was a free agent for over 6 months before joining Swindon in January and barely playing there. Cooper obviously believes in rotation, neither Lowe or Bidwell were injured on the weekend but both started on the bench didn't they. So he does rotate, but only in certain positions where he has back up that he can trust. Wanting Freeman to play laughable.

Why is it laughable for Freeman to play? That is an insult to the profefessioalism of the player. He may be short of match fitness v City and there is only one way to resolve that. Cooper chose to send Garrick out and bring in Freeman. He is only 28 had already played twice for Swindon is known to be a good asset at Championship level. He is cover for Roberts. Roberts is a star performer and needs to be 100% to the end of the season. Apparently "Roberts get s a bit miffed when rested". The manager must not worry about this.

Because there's literally no reason for him to play and there's no indication that he's done anything that makes him worthy of a starting place. Roberts not exactly looking leggy is he?

Freeman already has a promotion under his belts and a long history of performing at Championship level to a high standard so your statement is false. SPort scientist will be dvising Cooper not to overplay players armed with data. There is clear evidence that performances are dipping.

He was part of a squad that got promoted as a dependable squad player. He played no more than 20 matches in any one season at this level, other seasons he played 6 and 10. That plus the fact that hes played 4 games since 2019! As we know he recently spent over 6 months without a club. Is there any evidence that Robert's performances are dipping?
