Touched on it in the Arriolla thread, but this fella couldn't make it more obvious he isn't a big fan of the owners. He didn't want Arriola, I have zero doubts.

Pleased with deadline day?
"I’m pleased we didn’t lose anybody. Like anything, you bring players in with the idea that it can help you. The proof will be in the pudding. I’m very happy with the squad of players anyway, but it's always good to get some fresh faces in, and hopefully it can help us going forward."

Arriola? Very energetic?
"It’s a non-negotiable. We’ve got a reputation for our style of play, we want to play with a lot of energy, heart and soul. Any new players will quickly see we’re very demanding."

How well supported have you been by owners?
I don’t think about that too much, all I think about is the players I work with every day. You’ve got to think about what you have got. I’m looking at the squad now, and whatever squad we had, I’d say ‘how do we prepare and win the next game?’.

I think they said ages ago he wasn't going out on loan to anyone this season and they stuck to that. The rest is just journalists making up headlines.

Fair point Jasper

My response was as aresult of his attack on Cooper...using the refusal of the loan as a reason

So what do you see prospective new owners doing to "move us on" then Perchy?

Let's be honest here, all you're interested in is someone coming in and spending cash like a drunken sailor on shore leave. You wouldn't care a second about where the money was coming from or how it would be repaid, or what sort of state we'd be in if the taps were turned off, and you wouldn't understand it if someone patiently explained it to you. You'd just start throwing around the exact same kind of insinuations you do now.

Back before the Prem days, when we were still in League One under Jackett and Martinez you were whining about how we'd need new owners to progress, and here you are singing the same old song. It's an endless cycle.

Try again only bear in mind Perch got killed off.

You want a discussion or go back to our glory days of bitching.

Stay safe anyway

It will always be an endless cycle, whoever bought us, however much money they had the taps would turn off eventually and the cycle would start again.

Abramovich turned the taps off, if not off then defintely down, restricted the flow. The Man Citeh sheikh will one day walk away.

The only really good plan is to look at the size of your club and try to be self sustaining. You have to accept that growing the fanbase is the only way to have more spending money and still be sustainable. I think our current owners have turned out to be ok in that respect. I didn't like how the sale was handled. I didn't like finding out our owners were a hedge fund but, in the time since surely we have to accept that their actions have been in the clubs best long term interests?
We haven't needed an EFL loan at a time when many clubs are really struggling, even those billionaire owned giants 40 miles east of here. Our players are getting paid regularly, our bills are paid, we have no court cases that could end up costing us many millions, we are third in the league with a good team, a good manager and maybe we should be enjoying those positives more BUt, we are football fans. We are fickle, greedy and intrinsically designed to moan!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Im afraid Dr Winston ha reverted to type which is why we see this bilge resurfacing again.
It is misguided arrogance and sadly another example of old pats from 6 YEARS ago being brought on to this site. No mas ,por favor.

BTW,I stand by every word I post and nobody knows more or better than me,as is the case with all of us.

It's depressing to repeat oneself but ,in life,we all repeat mistakes .

As regards our club, the potential I talked about in 2013 has not been realised in any way and that grips my shyte. It really is that simple

I'm sure we'll tap into the PL pot, its interest free and doesn't need to be paid back for 3 seasons, be mad not to and then take a loan from a bank to cover cashflow

I agree about emotion and passion but still you need to make good decisions and in the boardroom you cannot allow emotion or passion to dictate those decisions, down that road disaster awaits.

Emotion and passion are for matchdays, for the fans to get behind the team and be the 12th player.

You dont think Leeds response to the Greenwood deal was due to how HJ handled the Dan James loan deal to them?

OR you are HJ
or he is still manipulating you like a vents dummy......maybe we should rename you Lord Charles, Orville,

HJ was Swansea's greatest ever chairman. If I meet him I will say thankyou, and when allowed shake his hand and congratulate him for his 15 year reign 14 of which were highly sucessful. I would also congratulate him in handing over the club to decent US owners who recently pumped upto £10m into the club to help with convid and assist in a promotion push.

I would also thank HJ for putting Swansea city first and resigning over the Dan James issue. It saved the club upto £15m of which £3.15m is notionally owned by the Trust. Leeds Utd did not want to get a 'good deal' from Swansea who were is a hospital recovery ward at he time taking the 'hard medicine'. Leeds wanted the "deal of the centuary" to parade to their fans. They wanted to drive Swansea into the dirt. They hardballed and squeezed the lemon of too much juice. Too greedy and too cute for their own good. They also reportedly went behind the back of the chairman to the US owners who were unaware of James's quaity. Underhand in my view.

I am a free thinker with no vested interest and I do not buy fake narratives from fans groups or Yorkshire football teams. I have naver liked Leeds Utd since their Josh Warrington fans racially abused Welsh boxers Lee Selby and Liam Williams. It was vey ugly.

If you want to do abuse thats up to you. Do not use the word 'We' as that suggest group action and that smacks of a bullying nature.

The PL, has made available £250m for Champ, L1 and L2, it works out at about £8m to us, (less for league 1 and 2) and its interest free, I would imaging all clubs will take it. However, it cannot be spent on players but associated costs due to losses accrued by Covid 19.

Oh the loan money...why borrow money if you don't need to? If we can get by without borrowing then we should. It gives us an advantage going forward.

Now Res, did HJ resign over the Dan James thing or was it because of a catalogue of errors and mounting pressure from fans fed up of him raking in a big pay packet (after cashing in on the sale) but doing a crap job?

He made a few mistakes of course and should have upgraded his recruitment advisor after Franck, Eder, Borja and Bony 2. He was not adverse to a sacking mangers when he needed.

I believe he ignored the instructions of the US owners who were sadly unaware what an asset Dan James was. From memory he was gone the following day but i may be wrong on that. It was HJ that brought Potter to the club and reinstated the Swansea way. Decsribed by Pep no less than England's best manager. As he resigned he had no pay off so I praise him for that. He also gave up a decent salary. He stuck by his word to go if he could not make a difference.

He was entitled to sell his shares but wisely kept 5% for future growth. The Trust were encouraged to do the same but could not make a deal. They failed and it is their fault. They have taken over three years to make a deal with the 'funders' . According to Chief they are "making good progress", Crickey. Its taken longer than Brexit. You have to love Chief's faith.

With the regard to the interest free loan your thinking is lazy and a little bit dim. We need to have a little chat. Of course they should take it. Peronally I would give it to my financial advisor to invest and take the profits and return it. Managed pensions rose 12.5% last year someone told me.

The club could put in in a three year business bond for say 1.2% pa at zero risk. £8m at that rate retuns £96,000 pa or £288,000 over three. A managed fund would return a cool £1,000,000 return pa in good years for doing didly squat with somebody elses money.

Please please please stop with this lie about the US owners pumping money into the club.

They have loaned the club some much needed money to help it through the crisis caused by covid and to try and ensure the club gets promoted from which they will benefit.

HJ could hsve put Swansea City FC first by not electing to pay himself such a high salary given he was a fan and promoted the club as "different" and "by the fans for the fans".
If he had paid himself a third of his slalry he would still have had a good income and this would have better fitted with the clubs income stream....not be driven by so called "market forces" ....we were after all supposed to be different.

Then did he jump or was he pushed?.......The Owners soon appointed a "proper" chief executive in Birch who soon managed the financial crisis created by his predecessor....who managed to make a fair profit form the sale...protect his interests yet had brought the club to its knees financially.

The "we" is metaphoric and refers to everyone on this board it is not meant as a means of bullying just that you do appear to be manipulated by the sellouts..and therefore it was a suggewstion of change of name that everyone would address you by

A little dim? Oh you are funny. Do you know the terms of any loan? How can you say take it and invest it when that may not be allowable under the terms? Why would the EPl allow any club an interest free loan so they could invest it?

here you go,

The Premier League has also agreed to provide a payment commitment of up to £15m to cover interest, arrangement fees and professional fees to allow the EFL to secure a £200m loan facility that it will then on-lend to Championship Clubs interest free.

https://www.efl.com/news/2020/

Details are as follows:

The loan facility is provided to support Clubs in the Championship to meet PAYE liabilities up to the end of 30 June 2021.
Loans are capped at £8.33m per Championship Club with monies received to be repaid by June 2024 using Premier League solidarity receipts or other central Premier League or EFL Distributions.
This fund is not available to any Club in breach or suspected breach of EFL Regulations and Clubs will again need to submit evidence in their applications to Club eligibility.
Any Club in receipt of a loan payment as detailed will be required to continue to maintain compliance with the EFL’s financial regulations.

If you're going to call someone lazy and dim maybe you should find out the terms and conditions of any loan first lest you beacuused of being lazy and dim.

Now Huw Jenkins, he said he may quit if we were relegated (29th December?) then on Dec 31st the trust called for him to quit and on February 2nd 2017 he did quit. He had been getting abuse for months beforehand. It wasn't over Dan James, that was something he got right. Who thought sending out one of our best performers on loan to a promotion rival a good idea? It was crazy, that was January 31st. I know because I looked, maybe you should have or were you too lazy?

As usual you twist the truth to defend Jenkins and find a way to attack the trust.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
