In the case of the girl in question we have very a long established system of law. She should be back here facing trial and getting appropriate punishment. We still have the death sentence for treason. We have the right to impose life imprisonment. Denying someone thr right to trial makes us as bad as many states elsewhere in the world. The right to a fair trial is what has always set us apart. Decisions should never by made on legal issues by politicians. It is a very dangerous practice. Legal decisions should be free of political interference. |
We aren’t denying her the right to have a trial. We don’t have the death penalty for treason.

Which raises another subject. What idiot starts a new thread when there is already a thread on that exact same topic?

If so surely all she needs to do is give their social services department a call and no doubt their vulnerable citizens protocol will spring into action and give her a helping hand. |
Did she? That makes it even worse on her behalf if that is true. I'm living in Canada and have dual citizenship (UK/Canadian), my wife, after we married and moved to UK did not take UK citizenship and has not taken Canadian citizenship while living here. Her Country of birth does not allow dual citizenship and she doesn't want to lose her birth nationality. If she took Canadian citizenship she'd automatically lose her birth citizenship.
