| Liverpool Fans again only 16:20 - Apr 19 with 1304 views | onehunglow | This time taking down all banners at Anfield in protest at the club agreeing to enter this ESL. Spirit of Shankly and other groups showing utter contempt for owners and their greed. This has to be a welcome sign. Hope united and the rest follow, especially Real Madrid. | Liverpool Fans again only on 19:58 - Apr 19 with 1198 views | Catullus | I hope all fans unite to fight this. It's not right, it'll rip the heart out of national leagues by taking the biggest draw away and replacing them with second string, weakened teams. If Celtic and Rangers were invited in what would happen to Scottish football? This is about creating Franchise FC's, about remaking football in the image of American sport. What these Americans don't understand is Europeans don't feel the same about sport, we want competition, we want the chance of promotion, for a small club to have a cup run. People will soon tire of closed shop football. | |

Yet again its the yanks causing issues, it was never going to end well with letting foreign people own our Football Clubs.

| Liverpool Fans again only on 20:24 - Apr 19 with 1135 views | onehunglow | Just been talkng to an old chum of mine.LFC fan of 50 years, well before I moved to Wirral. He stated quite clearly he would walk away from Liverpool FC in every way,as would all his family and friends that he has spoken to. The antipathy to this league of shame is staggering.Im really taken aback Its restored my faith in football though. WEe need to stand together and we will win.All those shytty six can play in the sporting sewer and they will. Players will also get it in the neck. No more heroes anymore | |

| Liverpool Fans again only on 20:24 - Apr 19 with 1135 views | jackrabbit | I lived in the States for 10 years and attended many games in the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball and the NHL. I saw some great sport but it lacked the edge of U.K. matches - it was almost more of a family occasion, a social event. When I lived in Chicago, I never got the impression that the Bears losing would spoil the weekend for regular fans, the way that say, the Swans losing kills my weekend. The lack of promotion and relegation definitely affects the whole outlook, and draws were an anathema. A team would be ‘9 and 5 for the season’ - 9 wins, 5 losses - no points tables, although of course there were league positions in the various conferences and playoffs between conference winners usually for a ‘bowl’ of some sort. A lot of it of course is due to the lack of away fans due to the vastness of the country. I became acclimatised to the American mode of sport but I missed the intensity and raw edge that comes with our football here. Americans look at the Man Uniteds and the Real Madrids and wonder why they are not playing each other constantly - look at the financial gains to be made. It is a totally alien perspective. They don’t know any different - I don’t mean that in a derogatory way - it’s just a statement of fact. | | | |

| Liverpool Fans again only on 23:46 - Apr 19 with 951 views | KeithHaynes | The real problem from what I can see on Twitter is all these plastic fans from everywhere else outside of the U.K. who ‘follow’ these team and who are now thinking it’s all about money and who has the most. And bragging about it. A super elite league with spurs in it who have less major trophy’s this decade than Wigan and Swansea 😂

It’s illuminating. U.K. fan bases (apparently now called ‘legacy fans’) hate this. Those in China, Thailand, US etc all seem to think it’s fantastic. Too many clubs chasing the ‘new’ supporter. Which is great. As long at it’s not at the expense of the existing. At times it feels like it is. It’s a careful path that needs to be navigated. Not sure all get the balance right to be honest...

Yes john. Quite amazed really. We have a lot of workmen here on our house, mostly reds but a few blues. Both are united in their condemnation. It's rather wonderful to behold actually. This is not going away and I m not sure this league will go ahead as it will be hated by all. Finally, credit to PSG ,Bayern and possibly Ajax and Benfica if they have turned down the offer to join

| Liverpool Fans again only on 10:38 - Apr 20 with 758 views | Catullus | It seems to have united most Uk fans, the "Legacy fans" eh, what an insult, we're no legacy we're still here and will be for decades and some of us didn't have parents who supported our teams either. SKy sports news last night, more from that un-named director at one of the six invovled. He said it wasn't a bluff to use in negotiations with UEFA, they didn't care about negative publcity, it was full steam ahead and this IS going to happen. Myabe they didn't anticipate fans at the gates protesting or governments saying they'll do what they can to stop it. Legally speaking what is the situation regarding FIFA and UEFA affiliations? If the clubs move to a "rebel" league can these bodies cancel players registrations? Will that be how they ban them from internationals? It's not restraint of trade as they aren't stopping them working. Could the government then (after adjusting the rules) refuse work permits because you need a FIFA /UEFA registration to get one? For my money, let them go but the moment they said it is definitely happening it gave grounds for expulsion, if the other 14 EPL clubs refuse to play them again this season then they deserve it. Rempve them from the league table, whoever is top becomes Champions and we promote teams up to make the right numbers, across all divisions. Then renegotiate the tv deals but to be fairer to all. Spread more money down the divisions, to grass roots. Build a new version of football where every club, every player and every fan counts. I've always been an idealist! | |
