Not in my lifetime, he died in 1960. Why ? Butchers runner at 13, Miner, head of the Miners in Tredegar at 19, there’s obviously more. Never lived his life without fault, but lived it when working people were just that.

Unfortunate timing really. A year or two sooner publishing his findings and we'd be using the term Wallacian rather than Darwinian. In fairness to Darwin he generally tried to credit Wallace as well.

The big fight this coming weekend between Canelo and Billy Joe Saunders will be fought under rules drawn up by a bloke from Llanelli over 150 years ago. He was also primarily responsible for introducing competitive track and field athletics and the founding of the AAA. He was instrumental in the creation of the FA Cup and was support to Captain Matthew Webb, rowing beside him when he swam the channel. In his own sporting career, he rowed twice in the Boat Race and coached four winning crews and became champion of England in the popular Victorian sport of pedestrianism (race walking). His fingerprints are all over major British and world sporting events today, yet he remains largely unknown. He achieved all of this before dying at the age of 40. |

Keith. I’m not sure describing English immigrants In the way they are is anything other than hate filled invective. It s subtle which makes it more insidious

The correct wording is ‘English migration’ in to Wales, any English ( and any other internal UK migrant or) person who remains in Wales for five years is considered Welsh by residence let’s not forget. I’m unsure if migration gives way to call the individual an immigrant, in fact the terminology for immigrant is someone who lives in another ‘foreign country’ so I would say not. They are more likely to be classed as migrants, not immigrants.

'who remains in Wales for five years is considered Welsh by residence let’s not forget.' No they're not, where are you getting this from? And I'm not one one of the English haters on here but if you're English you're English ( and proud of it presumably) I spent the best part of 10 years in Scotland but I wasn't Scottish whether by residence or any other measure.

I’ll leave that to you to look up. I’m just stating a fact. You will be telling me next that you can’t be a Welsh citizen if born in Cornwall. Oh I had better add - Citizens of any country who have spent at least ten years living in Scotland at any time and have an ongoing connection with Scotland will also be able to apply for naturalisation. Sometimes opinions don’t always match the facts 😉

Well you can be a Welsh resident if living in Wales and born in Cornwall from day one which wouldn't make you Welsh would it? One can only presume that you are now Spanish? ( in your own mind )

That’s not the issue in Spain, I’m just referring you to what is fact regards Welsh naturalisation, five years and over and Scottish. As for the Cornwall question do your research. And if today has been a bad one best stay off the Internet. I don’t understand your excuses for starting this conversation, when I’m wrong I generally apologise and put my hands up. It seems this goes a little deeper, best keep it off here eh ? Im not in to keyboard wizardry.

What we have here is someone who likes to attack the individual not the point in discussion. It's a right chin bender 😂 I hope he comes back for more, once he does his homework or at least discovers humility.
