If he makes himself available, most of the teams in the championship and maybe a few in the premier league. They only see results.

Amazing how few people grasp it and how many wilfully struggle against. "managers who focused very much on team shape, how not to get broken down, defensively solid, and basically play to survive". This is Cooper down to his DNA.

That's an indictment on the owners though, not the manager tasked with achieving results. That's who Rangel is ultimately talking about there, the whole club ethos from the top, not the current incumbent of the manager's position. And I'm pretty sure the only pictures our owners are seeing is a plus on the balance sheet and the club positioned in the play offs for the 2nd year running. If you don't like that, i suggest you take it up for them for not getting rid of such 'anti football' merchant such like Cooper.

There’s not much hope when the poster on this post is the same one who started a thread a few months back regarding our owners sending money to DC United.

I wouldn't class that as 'reported' would you. The guy on twitter got the wrong end of the stick and what it entailed was clarified. Notice carefully that i personally didn't jump to any conclusions, but this is what a forum is for and its good that people like that guy are looking at these things. No harm in being vigilant.

You are not vigilent on financial matter relating to the Supporters group to which you are a mamber. Things like the likely costs of legal and other fees in the event of winning and losing in the long awaited legal case. You have admitted you have no idea whether they can invest in property bonds and shares. They can however "raise money by any legal means" which should allow it by my judgement.

Well he’s released a statement saying he was good enough to be a star in the team, he didn’t want to come into training because he wasn’t being picked on a matchday. You have posted that, in yet another dig at our very successful manager. So presumably you have sympathy for his point. But Declan John is wrong isn’t he. He’s nowhere near good enough to be playing regular Championship football, let alone one in our position. Jazz Richards went to Cardiff to oust him from the position, another player not good enough for us - which doesn’t bode well for Declan. He has just signed for a League 2 team just promoted to league 1. Stop being silly now Risca. The team is in the playoffs, this ridiculous vendetta is boring.

Primarily because the trust don't control the football club's finances. Vigilance best served where its actually required. The costs of the case aren't finalised so haven't been released. I'm no lawyer so I'd rather leave such matters up to the more suitably qualified trust board members. As an educated guess i think investing in property is permitted (although not feasible up until now), but shares etc not unless its in a company that owns shares in the club. But im far from certain on that.

Again, managing is not just the players who are playing and in squad every week. Declan John has come out and said he was never spoken to throughout Cooper's reign. It's not a vendetta, it's just calling things as I see it, and plenty agree.

Again I fail to see anything in the article to support this...all John states is he was not given a reason as to why he was training with the U23s....why he wasnt included in the first team set up even though he believed he was good enough. He had been "excluded" from first team duties by Coopers predecessor so it should not have come as any surprise. It doesnt say he wasnt spoken to...just no reason given...maybe the conversation went Hi Declan you dont figure in our plans for this season so you will be training with the U23s..maybe your agent could find you a loan if your not happy with things Read the article you chose again....where does John state Cooper didnt speak to him? All it says is Opening up on his struggles, the former Cardiff City and Rangers man insists he was never really given a reason for his omission, and says his progress at Bolton has furthered his belief that he could have made a difference in SA1. "It was tough," he said when casting his mind back to his Liberty Stadium exit. "There was days where I didn’t want to go into training, I’ll be completely honest with you and not really being given a reason why. "I think I was more than good enough to play in that team and I think I’ve shown what I can do in the games that I’ve played this season. "I think especially in this climate now I think it’s been really tough for everyone and for this to happen, especially for me from going playing 23s football for the last six months to getting promoted with this team is brilliant." He believes because he contributed to success in Lg2 he was a walk in in the championship even though his past history did not support that. Aagin people;s dislike of Cooper is blinded what they read looking for anything to knock him with. Again what started as a positive thread about the financial state of the club has been overtaken as turned into another Cooper bash and using very "tentative" arguements in the process. As someone else has said here ...why not praise the good things but crtiicise the bad. We are all human all make mistakes in our profesional lives.... [Post edited 13 May 2021 8:54]

For me the debate about whether he is or isn’t good enough is irrelevant for me as his comments speak to his attitude which for a seasoned pro is very poor - I’d just about get it for a youngster needing an arm around his shoulder from the gaffer but not an experienced professional - once Cooper & his coaching team saw that attitude his card would have been marked. Interestingly & obviously my opinion he might have excelled in our 3 CB plus 2 WB formation but he’d made his bed by then.

| Swiss Ramble on 19:22 - May 12 by 34dfgdf54 | Your first paragraph, completely fair comment. Poor signing which didn’t work out. Your third paragraph though, Grimes, James, McBurnie, Rodon all players which through the help of our brilliant academy brought into the first team by Potter. I would imagine all four would have nothing but great things to say regarding Potter. As the saying goes though, proof will be in pudding, let’s see if premier league chairman come chasing Cooper. I don’t think so personally as these guys will more than likely look at more than results and see bigger picture. But we’ll see. |
Your second paragraph those same players might have nothing but great things to say about Cooper too who knows? Your third paragraph, Cooper has already this seasom been mentioned as possible candidate for Palace and Spurs. Chairmen ,chief execs, owners and shareholders look at results unfortunately... Potter 8 years as in senior management....in English leagues his record Swansea took them to 10th in the championship following releagtion from the PL Brighton first season took them to 15th in the PL having finished 17th previous season Second season at Brighton currently in 17th Cooper 2 seasons in senior management 1st season finishes 6th losing in the semi finals of the playoffs 2nd season finishes 4th though were in a position to have gained automatic promotion for quite a period. Looking at those stats as so many on here love stats which manager appears to be the most successful...plus Cooper has his World cup history and a "reputation" of links and developing young players. AS we say its all about opinions.....Im not saying Copper is a better manager than Potter he is different but the stats on show could persuade someone to opt for Cooper over Potter in appointing a manager
