Given the way he was informed by Winter of Petersons departure I wouldnt be surpirsed a great lesson on "management" that one. It will be interesting to see what happens come the summer...I fear for us if he goes as we will have another reset, in a more frugal environment especially if we dont get promoted. IF there are "issues" Winter should be doing his best to sort them out

It was the last day of the window and the pressure was on. Text is a perfectly good way of communicating as it is guarenteed to arrive one way or another. It also indicates that nothing is up for further discussion. It was a "non negiociable". The reality was Peterson had played his last game, His relationship with the manager with only 7 apperances in the previous season and only 17 minites at Newport in the new season was irreparable. Winter relieved Cooper of a problem Cooper himself had created. Swansea cannot afford well paid players doing nothing. Swansea wanted to shift Narsingh and Potter made it clear he was not impressed with the player. Olympiacos wanted him on loan but Narsingh was happy to sit tight and not take any drop in wages. At least Petersion had personal pride and ambition. He has performed well for Dusseldorf. He made the right call.

A player who had basically shown nothing to suggest he should have been in the team basically goes on strike demanding to leave because he can't be bothered to fight for his place in the team. But the manager's in the wrong here apparently! And the player is being commended for showing ambition!!!

Cooper did not look after a player he brought to the club. If Narsingh was a professional as Peterson Swansea would have saved £1.5m in wages. Peterson did not want to get splinters as he assessed, like Arriola, he was not valued by the manager. He assessed his chances of getting into the team were remote. Cooper was angry at losing the winger in Peterson at the start of the season so the club gave him another winger in Arriola in January. Cooper did not give him a decent look in even after Cullen and Routledge got injured. He got the same "17 minuite " treatment over 5-6 weeks but injury freed him of his commitments.

Peterson didn't look after the club that paid his wages and gave him a chance to play on a decent stage. No player does want to be on the bench. The vast majority don't issue ultimatums or go on strike deadline days though. Squad players (with no evidence of them actually being good enough to contribute) who go on strike and throw a strop are actually backed by some 'fans' over the manager (who's got us to 2 successive play offs). This is where are in 2021 people. Laughable.

Yes that is the way it is. Luckily Winter is a pragmatist and got the problem sorted. Cooper lost an asset he intended using. I have plenty of stuff like that in my garage. In my world If I do not want to work I give one months notice. Peterson was given the "17 minite" treatment and took control of his destiny while providing the club cash compensation. Narsingh was very happy sitting on Swansea s bench and was not prepared to lose a penny of what was owed to him.

"17 minute treatment" Quoting your own words now and coming up with slogans to discredit the manager over wantaway moany squad players! Amusing and tragic in equal measure. I have equal distain for Narsingh and Peterson.

YOu really are a star Been up Glyn neath collecting mushrooms perhaps? How do you know the position was irreparable? IT is ok for Winter not to talk to Cooper about selling a player yet Cooper is accused of bad man management of how he handled Declan John This agenda against Cooper is getting ridiulous

Potter wasted £2M on a transfer fee plus whatever wage Asoro commanded and didnt look after him! All this conjecture about Arriola not being valued by the manager...all assumption and conspired form "soundbites" and quptes from Cooper who does not sound enthusiastic at the best of times. Arriola may have been "foisted" on him, but he is not that unsavvy to go out of his way to upset the owners who were behind this move. The guy had played less than 3 hours football in 12 months he had started to get minutes then he got injured. Who knows how more minutes he would have got had that not happened. All of a sudden people on here are better qualified to asses the readiness of players to compete in matches than the management ...not one of us saw Arriola in training..what his fitness test on arrival showed how he worked on the training field... Get whoevers hand is up your backside operating you like Archie Andrews or Orville and enagage your brain

I give my opinions and am not a mouthpiece for anyone. I back the people that pay the bills and bail out the club in a crisis not the limp wristed losers that represent the fans who are paying London third party people tens of thousands for nothing in the middle of a crisis. Peterson and Arriola played 34 minuitess between them over 11 matches and 10 weeks and did not start a single game. Both fit both good players. Save you insults and make your point with logic if you are able. Try Planetswans if you want to get personal. Standards much lower over there.

"Both fit both good players" Literally no evidence of this. You've only ever seen Arriola play for your fabled 17minutes. [Post edited 13 May 2021 17:27]

| Swiss Ramble on 08:29 - May 13 by vetchonian | Again I fail to see anything in the article to support this...all John states is he was not given a reason as to why he was training with the U23s....why he wasnt included in the first team set up even though he believed he was good enough. He had been "excluded" from first team duties by Coopers predecessor so it should not have come as any surprise. It doesnt say he wasnt spoken to...just no reason given...maybe the conversation went Hi Declan you dont figure in our plans for this season so you will be training with the U23s..maybe your agent could find you a loan if your not happy with things Read the article you chose again....where does John state Cooper didnt speak to him? All it says is Opening up on his struggles, the former Cardiff City and Rangers man insists he was never really given a reason for his omission, and says his progress at Bolton has furthered his belief that he could have made a difference in SA1. "It was tough," he said when casting his mind back to his Liberty Stadium exit. "There was days where I didn’t want to go into training, I’ll be completely honest with you and not really being given a reason why. "I think I was more than good enough to play in that team and I think I’ve shown what I can do in the games that I’ve played this season. "I think especially in this climate now I think it’s been really tough for everyone and for this to happen, especially for me from going playing 23s football for the last six months to getting promoted with this team is brilliant." He believes because he contributed to success in Lg2 he was a walk in in the championship even though his past history did not support that. Aagin people;s dislike of Cooper is blinded what they read looking for anything to knock him with. Again what started as a positive thread about the financial state of the club has been overtaken as turned into another Cooper bash and using very "tentative" arguements in the process. As someone else has said here ...why not praise the good things but crtiicise the bad. We are all human all make mistakes in our profesional lives.... [Post edited 13 May 2021 8:54]

Of course he had. Cooper had no interest in playing him, the club had an offer to make their money back on him and took it. Of course he would want to go, Resolven’s right, I’ve not read anything from him suggesting a strike? Are you making that up?

Take it up with Resloven, he said "he'd played his last game" when trying to justify Winter's selling of him.

I am defending the owners. In order to do this I neither need to be one of them, a realtive of them or one of their friends, a US citizen nor be of the Hebrew faith. When the club was on its knees US people not Welsh showed up. In my defence I stand alone questioning what to me is a ludicrous policy of the SCST to take the current owner to court. I seriously question the competence of the previous management of the SCST. I have also highlighted how inflation has moved the goal posts with Burnley valued at £200m and Derby at £60m. In view of the very long delay a third vote is required to see if the case makes sense given inflation and a firming up of the costs of the case which members do not even seem to know. It is the members who have been manipulated. The narrative of 'Yankee asset strippers' has been found to be false.
