Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
Could it just be the song and the performance were rubbish just like the Dutch, Spanish and German songs which were all in the bottom four. Everyone in Europe hates Netherlands, Spain Germany and the United Kingdom.
Mind you 26th out of the 39 countries that entered is pretty average. Ireland did not even make the final. Why does everyone hate the Irish.
Nothing to do with Brexit though - it could be argued that after the Lisbon accord in the early 2000’s we have not even made the top ten .
Correct once all the eastetn European countries that were part of the soviet Union joined Eurovision voting patterns changed. There even seem to be Asia countries in now as well Australia.
The United Kingdom,along with the US is pre eminent in contemporary music.No other countries come close. These musical nonentities voted in English and it was broadcast in English and songs sung in English.
That is because English is the world language of popular music.
Sinatra ,Elvis,Ella,Nat ,Bennett sang THE greatest of all songs in English.Rodgers and Hammerstein,Rodgers,Cole Porter,Irving Berlin didn't write in Italian,French.Spanish,Estonian or Maltese,certainly not in the affront to the ears sounding Dutch language.
The Blues is in English as was brit pop including punk.This is the music that endures ;which people sing .
Eurovision voting has been political for years, countries do each other favours. Then there's the non European Eurovision entries.....how? why? Money maybe?
I stopped watching it a very long time back, not that I ever paid that much attention really. The best part of it was Wogans sarky commentary as far as I remember, has Norton gone the same way?

Me too.It's weird though Balkan countries voting for each other when not long ago they were wiping each other out so nobody would see any Eurovision. 4 hours of TV of that shyte is criminal.
The euros look dumbfarks trying so hard to be cool.
We don't take it seriously and never really have just treat it for what it is just a camp joke simple as that but a lot of our European cousins treat it like the world cup. Just laugh because that's all it is is a laugh!

Ireland has very well over the years for a small nation, even with some rubbish songs. Recently, It's gained a reputation as a Tax Haven, that certainly won't help them in the future.

“The Europeans are awful at writing music that endures“.
These ‘musical nonentities’ produced Bach, Handel, Brahms, Beethoven, Mahler etc etc etc from Germany;
Mozart, Schubert, Haydn etc etc from Austria;
Bizet, Debussy, Ravel, Berlioz etc etc from France;
Verdi, Vivaldi, Puccini etc etc etc from Italy;
Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Borodin etc etc from Russia.
Even the writers of the great American songbook you mention, Irving Berlin, born in Russia, Hammerstein, Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, - all children of European Jewish immigrants. And you describe the Europeans as musical nonentities?
The reason we received no points is because our entry was awful.
If we sent Adele or Harry Styles we wouldn’t get no points.

The members of the European Broadcasting Union are entitled to take part.
That includes countries from all over the place, not just Europe. It’s an association of public service broadcasters (eg. the BBC).

Try to be a smart @rse with me.Stick to ignoring me. Look at the context of my post and then reflect.
Reflect on the volume of contemporary popular that endures .
