Yes, I know it is an all English final, but Colin Jackson when competing at the highest of levels was British, when he stopped winning he became Welsh. There are many other examples out there. Anyway - Chelsea v Manchester City Your thoughts ?

Btw, what was Abraham doing on the pitch in his full kit at the end ? ( not even a tracksuit) He wasnt even on the bench tonight! Another John Terry photobomber in the making!

Say what you will about Citeh and their Petrodollars (somehow Chelsea's Petrodollars are OK), they are and always have been a proper big club.

Both could have been in the doldrums as Leeds until the Russian mafia boss moved into Chelsea and the oilmen moved into Citeh and they still can't win the Champions League love it absolutely love it.

It wasn't all that long ago that City were in the third division. Even when they were in the old first division they were a mid table team at best

| The all English champions league final thread on 11:29 - May 29 by pikeypaul | Who are Swansea owned by ? How many Welsh players will start today? Going on your thoughts we are not a Welsh team. |
Swansea city is a US / Welsh owned football club. 69% US owned and 31% Welsh owned. When the fans demand investment they want US investment not Welsh investment. That is because the Welsh owners are skint and particularrly the fans group who have gone into business with no businessa acumen and behave as if they are a charity. The 21% fans group failed to sell in the Premier league when worth £21m stating very clearly they did not want cash but extra shares. They asked the new US owners to donate to them an extra 4% or £4m. They are little use to the club with that dependency attitude. They can of course cause trouble by using the fans sympathy as leverage against the owners by planting fake narratives promoted by fans forum owners and others. [Post edited 30 May 2021 1:20]

Citeh were a top team in the early 70s, very good individual players, but thinking about it they seemed to have a bit of money even then.

They were pulling in 30,000 crowds in the third division too. They have been poorly run at times. No doubt. But they've got a sizeable fanbase and always have. Certainly bigger than Chelsea's.

They paid over a £1.5 m for Steve Daley ,an incredibly bad buy. The Sheiks saved their @re and their fans are very lucky and they know it.

Steve Daley was their Clucas moment. They signed Rodney Marsh to win the title when they were top Christmas time was it ? one year and he changed the dynamic of the team and they didn't win it. They had the likes of Asa Hartford, Dennis Tueart, Franny Lee, Corrigan in goal, Colin Bell etc, they were the best team to watch in the early 70s out of the top teams, Liverpool and Leeds were boring in comparison.

Yeah. I quite liked that City team though, especially Colin Bell who would stand out now if playing in this era. I used to know Franny Lee quite well through business I was involved in at the time. Not one to cross or double cross for sure.Good businessman . Denis Law worked for him and he was a lovely guy ,a real Gent.
