Nobody should take the knee to anyone. My opinion.
Plenty of ways to fight racism.
Best chance was for EUFA to throw out those teams-normally in the east European cess pit -out of all competitions for ten years for their racist chanting.
Additionally,intead of virtue signalling in the media,Black players ,when receiving the monkey chants,should have walked off the field informing the referee as to why .
The racist chanting has been going on for years and derisory fines handed out when bans should have been enforced.
Im calling out Serbia,Croatia,Hungary,Bulgaria and the loveable Russians as bations of bigotry.

One or two defenders were looking around for advice / lead of the defensive leader who then did a bit of ball juggling. They decided to follow his lead working on the basis that as Italians they should work as a tight unit at the back. |  |

It actually represents two quite different philiospohies in the game.
The forward can afford to not ask too many questions and can act instinctively and make on the spot desicions, If kneeling is wrong who cares. There is always another chance not to kneel next week. ​If they lose posession high up the field no harm done.
The defender on the other hand are not prepared to act instictively and must behave as a strong unit. One false kneel and it is over. Best not to take any risks until things are checked out. Put it in row Z. [Post edited 21 Jun 2021 16:16]
