You can’t buy more food if it’s cheaper?
Is cheaper food not normally less healthy?
Being part of the EU standardised animal welfare and additives. Trade deals could be dependant on lowering those standards. We were promised that wouldn’t happen.
If it doesn’t happen I’ll be happy.
Cheaper food is definitely not less healthy. In fact unhealthy food is more expensive. During the last 50 years, cancer, heart disease, diabetes etc has skyrocketed, mostly as a result of what we eat, so the idea the foods we consumed during our membership of the eu were somehow superior to the food we now consume post Brexit is laughable.

Nobody is forced to eat anything they don’t want too. If you ain’t happy with whatever the product is, don’t buy it. Simple.
The problem with the foods we eat, is the junk foods, foods that contain to much sugar, create more problems, than whatever ever any future government may or may not do, in regards to deregulation of the food industry.

Saying that things were bad before so we shouldn’t care about making them worse doesn’t make sense to me.
As with all these things it’ll disproportionately affect low income families which drives me nuts. You don’t always have a choice about what you eat, sometimes it’s about what you can afford.
You can buy a chicken for £3, how many frozen chicken nuggets can you buy for that? 60? 100?
Those nuggets were rubbish before but how much worse would the be in they were made with chlorinated chicken that’s been pumped with growth hormones?
The trade deal with America seems to hinge on acquiescing to their food standards. This vis on the difference between American and UK McDonald’s sums it up for me:

The EU wouldn't allow Gm crops either. I don't think the Americans banned them. It all points to a lowering of food standards and is concerning. I will not eat any produce that comes from the USA or Israel, for ideological reasons. None of their products in my house except for windows on my PC.
