Happy fecking days and now that project fear has been shown to be total BS what a great feeling it is to be out of the pathetic EU and how stupid the Remoaners are now looking with all their false claims and guesses.

5 years ago today all the losers woke up and realised the Great British people had kicked the EU out and despite their tantrums and trying to stop democracy the losers are still throwing their toys out of the pram, whilst the majority are fecking loving it.

Farmers now wish they had stayed in. They see a bleak future.
Even these last few weeks the supermarkets have been flooded with NZ lamb. Cheap and bland stuff. Shouldnt happen. Good old Johnson.

Nobody is forcing you buy new Zealand lamb . If you prefer British lamb buy it. You now have the choice of buying cheaper food rather than the inflated food prices of the EU to keep the inefficient French farmers happy. The common agricultural policy was just a cartel to keep France Italy Spain and Greece happy.

Some of the more extreme claims of ' project fear ' have backfired in that they have not materialised, these claims have now been a distraction in the post Brexit conversation.

Who cares about farmers or trade as long as some can wave their little union jack flags and say we are great

I’ve no issue with choice but it has to be informed.

We were told food standards wouldn’t drop but that seems to have gone out the window.

What happens when this stuff ends up on restaurant menus and school dinners?

Will it need to be lab led to say how it differs in additives and animal standards to what we’re used to?

Uk pork standards are and have for many years higher than both Denmark and Netherlands which are the two countries than export most pork products to the EU. Perhaps people should stop buying over standard pork from them

Which food standards have changed then? Am I missing something about NZ Lamb, they used to import tonnes of it when we were in the EU. People can buy Welsh lamb.

It still puzzles me how meat imported from thousands of miles away can be cheaper than Lamb reared on local farms.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Please don’t talk about food standards, when obesity is at epidemic levels and that didn’t begin post Brexit.

That’s brilliant for us, we get even higher standards from our own pork than those that meet EU standards.

Makes it even sadder if that’s eroded.

We’ve no trade deal (yet) with New Zealand so I assume their lamb must meet EU standards.

I’m not an expert so happy to be corrected.

I guess that land isn’t at such a premium in New Zealand so massive farms = cheaper lamb.

I seriously like Lamb but it is expensive in comparison with other meats.
Welsh lamb is available at our local farm shop .Worth the extra I would say.

You mentioned obesity.

Cheap food normally means larger quantities.

I think that after the pandemic I wouldn’t use finance or increase/decrease in trade to support an argument for either side. That’s for a later time.

Just to be clear, even though I wanted to remain I want Brexit to work - wanting it to fail just to prove I was right is plain daft.

If things are demonstrably better over time I’ll happily (and with relief) say I was wrong.

You can’t buy more food if it’s cheaper?

Is cheaper food not normally less healthy?

Being part of the EU standardised animal welfare and additives. Trade deals could be dependant on lowering those standards. We were promised that wouldn’t happen.

If it doesn’t happen I’ll be happy.
