| Teachers pay freeze ? on 18:17 - Jul 25 by pencoedjack | I work in the industry, if you believe (as an example) an orthopaedic surgeon deserves a 15% pay rise for the work they have done in the last year, so be it. There are people who work in the NHS who deserve a 1 off bonus payment for the incredible work they have done in the last year but giving a sweeping pay rise to all is a non starter for a country that has paid out billions to keep people in the non public sector living with 80% of their wage. After we are out of this the NHS needs a shake up from top to bottom & it should be run by professional people who understand the industry & not political parties (whoever is in power) the waste in the NHS is something to behold. Of course teachers (& others) remained on 100% pay even though there was next to no teaching at times at the beginning of the pandemic ( except it seems in Swansea) so deserve a pay freeze. |
When did the Consultants get 15%. I remember Junior Doctors saying that's what they SHOULD get. When I looked all I could find is this, https://healthmedia.blog.gov.u If you have the evidence of a 15% pay rise please post it. Which part of the industry do you work in? What do yoy know of Agenda for Change and NHS pay deals? I agree with your third paragraph. Teachers, much like others in the public sector have fallen behind in real terms after a long while of either no pay rises or below inflation rises. My sons class teacher caught covid looking after the kids of essential workers, his wife was 5 months pregnant at the time. In September when he moved up to Comrehensive he was having lessons every day on Teams, including face to face on Zoom. It's Neath by the way, not Swansea.

They have had to rewrite all their lesson plans, redesign all their learning material so that it can be delivered in e/online format. Getting kids on line has been like trying to herd up cats! Teachers reflect society, there will be good ones and poor ones, those who’ve done nowt should be held to account by parents, head teachers and governors moving forward and sorted out.

Two of my family are on 100k plus, ones in the police and ones a teacher, their wages come from the public purse, on a personal level obviously good luck to them, but what a lot of people don't realise is to give people on those kind of wages more money it's often then the case that those at the bottom of the ladder then lose their jobs, as the money has to come from somewhere.

No you work for a prosthetic manufacturer if I remember correctly. I do actually work for a multi-billion pound company in healthcare and I wouldn't dream of stating what the NHS staff should or shouldn't get. You're a sad and twisted individual of no actual merit.

I’ve been down that road before Keith. The ‘Teacher’ who earns more than 100k must be a Headteacher of a school with more the 1500 pupils. However, the poster says it’s fine to phrase his words in the way he has as said friend thinks of themselves as a teacher. Using this logic, he’ll just say the AC or CC thinks of themself as ‘just’ a police officer. He’ll then act surprised when it pointed out how disingenuous that spin is. Off you go Tramp…

I stated earlier in this thread that a teachers pay freeze was sensible at this time, especially as it’s the first year in about a dozen that recruitment targets has been hit. In 18-24 months there’ll be a shortage again and I expect the STPCB pay recommendations for an increase will be accepted, much to the angst of economic conservatives. As for comments on high pay, holidays, pensions etc. I make the same two points. 1. Why is there almost always a shortage of teachers? 2. If it’s so amazing, why not go and do it? It not a shut shop, anyone with the requisite access qualifications can train (often getting payed for it) and be in the ivory tower in a year. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They are my family not friends and my headteacher relative always says he is a teacher and my ma'am family member always says she is a policewoman, it's how they describe themselves.

| Teachers pay freeze ? on 21:07 - Jul 27 with 276 views | trampie | These highflyers in the public sector over the years get pay rises and then cleaners for example lose their jobs to pay for the pay rises , the high flyers are then asked to keep their office tidy as the cleaner has gone and then they want more money again for doing more work. They are asked to change ink and toner on photocopiers because the the guy looking after office printers has lost his job, guess what they want more money. When highflyers get the same percentage rise as the rest of the bods the monetary gap between them and the rest grows and gets bigger, highflyers particularly in councils get way to much coin. | |
