75% of 16 /17 year olds have now been vaccinated in Powys.

But they are in contact with those who are going to pubs and nightclubs, at least indirectly. We are basically living without restriction.

There is a world of difference between getting infected and getting severely ill. The efficacy drops against infection but apparently not against serious illness. That is a world away from "not being vaccinated"

Indirectly of course, but is that enough for them to become infected?

Hospitals are slowly filling up, but deaths are lower, probably because the treatment is better. Patients are getting on oxygen earlier and various combinations of drugs are working better, so keeping many out of ICU.

People who've been to nightclubs don't leave the virus there. They bring it home and pass it on.

Treatment is no better now than it was early in the 2021. Hospitals are filling up with at least as many people who haven't been vaccinated as those who've been vaccinated, and that is from just 10% of the population. It is also a worse case scenario, it has been stated 75% are unvaccinated.

I'm sorry to dissapoint you but people aren't dying becasue they've been vaccinated.

It's not the black death. It's infectious but not that bad.

Treatment has improved, no idea where you got that from

The unvaccinated are generally the younger people who are mixing and coming into contact with the virus more often..Also being younger they have more chance of fighting it off.

Older people are generally being more cautious and avoiding contracting the virus.

Treatment has not improved since the spring. Nothing has changed, some new drugs have been approved for use but they make little difference, are very expensive and not widely used.

It is far more infectious than the bubonic plague but not as deadly.

Older people are also avoiding contracting the virus becasue the vaccines work.

The Israel study refers to viral load. After a while you can get infected and carry a high viral load, you won't get seriously ill though.

The efficacy drops against mild illness but nowhere near as much against severe illness.

Have you got data to back that absurdly wild claim up?

Oh yes they are and the VAERS/MRHA website will back that up even though as little as 10 % of adverse reactions are reported.
The hospitals are full of vaccinated people, all of the ones that have only had the one jab are classed as unvax.
You're going to be devastated this winter when the numbers will prove beyond reasonable doubt that it is infact the Vax that are taking up the hospital beds.
I genuinely will be very pleased and relieved if you prove me wrong on that fact but the way things are shaping up I just can't see it.

I’m never getting vaccinated, which I know makes sense.

Did you read the article? Are you aware that within the groups of unvaccinated and vaccinated there are many subgroups who experience different risk factors?

Stop advising others, you know it makes sense.

It sort of misses the point. What is the risk of myocarditis to a teenage boy who catches covid?

In most cases myocarditis is a mild condition that clears with no treatment and sometimes occurs in those who contract the virus.

The risk of myocarditis via Covid to a teenage boy, in terms of case numbers, is significantly less than the risk of myocarditis via vaccines. We know this from the hospitalisation numbers in the article. You are correct in that the article doesn’t delve into severity other than the requirement for hospitalisation.

Your claim is that most of those cases via the vaccine will be mild and require no treatment (just a pleasant hospital visit), whereas the far fewer numbers of hospitalisation from Covid will be mostly serious cases? I can’t claim otherwise, I don’t have the data.

The main point for me, which should be obvious to everyone, is that the risk of Covid is markedly different across demographics, as is the risk of the vaccines. Some will make the argument for sacrificing people (including children now) for the greater good, but that is on flimsy ground given we know this virus is endemic.

I don't think we do know that from the hospital numbers in the article. The numbers relate to hospitalisation because of covid symptoms, myocarditis may not need hospitalisation and many symptoms could be confused with traditional covid symptoms.

It is quite possible a teenage boy could get myocarditis due to covid and not need hospital treatment or even know that they have it.

The risk of heart complications, leading to hospitalisations judged to be “moderate”, for boys aged 12-15 following the vaccine was 162.2 per million.

Amongst the same demographic, the risk of similarly moderate hospital treatment being required due to a covid infection is 26.7 per million.

Granted these are small proportions of the population but they are real lives, and the numbers clearly show the risk of hospitalisation is greater for this demographic if they take the vaccine than if they do not.

Your first paragraph is a complete misrepresentation.

The article says.

"They then compared this with the likelihood of children needing hospital treatment owing to Covid-19, at times of low, moderate and high rates of hospitalisation.
Researchers found that the risk of heart complications for boys aged 12-15 following the vaccine was 162.2 per million"

As I said myocarditis is a consequence of covid and is probably hugely under reported. Everyone is going to get covid, so it's quite possible that less boys will get myocarditis from the vaccine than the virus.

Most experts expect the virus to be endemic, and not due to stupidity. The hope is that it becomes less impactful, either due to a beneficial (to us) mutation or due to population immunity, be that from vaccines or prior infections.

There are studies that show immunity from prior infection to be superior to immunity from vaccinations, and given the relative adverse outcomes from vaccination amongst certain demographics it does need to be considered as to whether that is the best course of action. Nothing to cry about.

Could I ask that you read more of the article and then correct your misrepresentation when you have understood it please? The numbers for covid infections are a few sentences down.

The data literally states that, per million, more boys are hospitalised from myocarditis following the vaccine (you have posted the same numbers as me and yet claimed I have misrepresented) than the number of boys amongst the general population hospitalised with covid infections, for all related symptoms inclusive of myocarditis.

What is worrying is people trying the play down the danger of these heart problems as being a minor problem.
Every single one of them can cause some damage to heart muscles that may not cause problems until many years from now.
To say they just "get over it" is disengenious.
On top of those numbers are all the ones who died from complications caused by the vaccines.
The likes of scotia and prof do not believe in the VAERs data.

Where does it discuss hospitalisation due to vaccine induced myocarditis?
