There will come a time for Russell Martin, but it’s nowhere near yet 16th Sep 2021 10:38
Another draw, but more realistically more signs of improvement as Swansea City played their second home game in four days. Sadly it resulted in another 0-0. You can’t argue with the playing style, it creates chances for players to score goals. The only issue is the players needed to score goals left their shooting boots at home. 0

Equal in what sense? They were completely different game plans.

But neither did enough to win the game if that is your question?

They allowed us the ball and set up their team in a way to deny us many opportunities, which transpired to be the case. They were fully deserving of their point, as were Millwall.

But after 7 games we find ourselves in 20th because we don’t deserve to be higher. Not sure what is confusing you about that to be honest.

You're the one confused, you fool haahaha.

You are simply lying now.

It's quite obvious by the match stats I supplied to you previously, that both performances were not equal.
The result was equal yes, but the stats and the performance was extremely unequal.

If you asked Hull's manager if he was happy with their performance, do you honestly think he would say yes and that they were equally in the game?

Martin was happy with the performance. NOT THE RESULT.
There is a difference you absolute joke of a bloke.

You are now going even lower than you had taken your sorry self before now, and barefaced lying.

I am actually starting to feel sorry for you now.
You obviously have some problems that you need to deal with, so you want to take it out on here against your own fellow fans. It's a pity.
I don't know what your issues are, but you should really seek some help for them, instead of trying to get some sort of sick satisfaction from picking arguments and causing agro.

Again you keep throwing your toys out and name calling if it helps you, it does nothing for your point of view.

Where am I lying? I don’t lie. That is usually your forte when you continuously make up quotes. Everything I say is absolute reality.

You are making the mistake of assuming their game plan was the same as ours, it wasn’t. So comparing our match stats against their is irrelevant as they have different performance markers.

Their game plan was a defensive one and to try and get a draw. Ours was supposed to be an attacking one where we aim for the win.

Their defensive game plan was far more effective than our attacking one. They restricted us to 4 shots on target, all of which were 20 yards out or further, one was 35. I am sure they went away feeling they executed their game plan far better than we did, they got what they came for - we didn’t.

Whether Martin was happy with the performance is irrelevant, he shouldn’t have been.

Now try and calm down, you are going to give yourself a coronary.

People can deny it all they like but there’s a desperation to see Martin fail, not witnessed since the days of Garry Monk, and all because some people think it will support their view that Steve Cooper was an overachiever. He wasn’t and it doesn’t. Some fans we’ve got. 10 games FFS.

Anybody who is desperate to see Martin fail is not a true supporter/fan of the club.

People miss the distinction of Martin's approach and record to date being questioned as was the previous managers by those who did not like the style of football being played last season.
Yes I defended the previous manager also criticised him at times and yes I have raised questions re our current manager but I certainly do not want him to fail as if he does the club may have to sack hom and financially that is not good for the club and also it could mean we get relegated which is certainly not good for the club.

Just because people ask questions about the current status certainly doesnt mean that they are desperate for Martin to fail.

For me personally I fail to see all the euphoria surrounding what is happening based purely on the fact we are having more posession...we have failed to beat two "mediocre" teams at home...whilst also looking a little suspect at the back still early days but dont like we are likely to score either. It worries me that supporters are happy to finish 1 point above the relegation zone...Im not I like to see my team succeed...Ive witnessesd us struggling enough in the past to want to see it again.

A team in transition yes but that shouldnt mean we shouldnt be capable of competing this season..especially as we have invested in players...

My concenrs ....Martin has already stated he is " a one trick pony" will only olay one way has only a plan A....so already oppostion managers know what they will expect....so they will be able to counter that plan, who is the real cover for LAird...whilst Lati and Naughts can do a good job at full back neither are wing backs.

When was the last time we statred a season so poorly? It was our last season in the Prem what happened next?
Potter managed 3 wins 3 draws and one loss in his season which was transitional, admittedly he had a preseason....lets see what happens form here on but for people to be accepting of a finish below 10th which is the lowest we have been in this league is quite embarrassing especially as we have given this manager funds and the headroom to mould his team.

Lets hope MArtin succeeds...I for one am desperate for him to doesnt mean I will not ctitique though

I wouldn't say all the anti-Martin stuff is coming from the Cooper loyalists.

A lot of it is coming from people who just enjoy pulling their little puds over the responses they get for being anti Martin and would be pro-him if the majority were anti, and some of it is coming from people who are just a bit thick.

I don't see how anyone can sensibly be anti a manager who's only been here a couple of months and has two years worth of damage to undo, but nor can you be massively pro Martin either. He hasn't achieved anything yet, although it is early.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

There you go again insinuating that Cooper damaged the club.

And Im biting....this myth that Coopers football was boring and negative is just that a myth..it wasnt tikka tika but it was effective.
I wonder what would be said on here had we still be watching games as the last 18 months with no crowds and on tv with how we have started this season especially given the performances in our last 3 home matrches.....would you call them entertaining?,we certainly didnt look like winning?

I couldnt see last season or now how anyone can sensibly be so anti a amanger who had achieved to get us into the playoffs in successive season whilst not having really witnessed the football at first hand.....whilst not tikka tikka hoofball a la Pullis , Warnock et al it was not wither...probably more akin to Sousa ball....but that was then and this is now...but whilst it appears Cooper was fair game...Martin is off limits ..and anyone who dares to question is deemed as negative and not a fan....yet last season to do the same was fine?

I for one hope he succeeds...as I have stated I have my concerns...just as I did over our previous manager or should I say the one on garden leave.
There will come a time where it is no longer too early...he has recently just had two weeks to concentrate on the "new team"....not a preseason I know but good managers/coaches should be able to instill what is required into the players especially when it seems we have now gone out and acqquired players to suit the managers style.
International managers dont get the length of time with their squads ( that includes football and rugby) yet somehow they manage to make things work in short timescales.

Time will tell but as I have said whilst I have defended Cooper I am not a Cooper loyalist I am an SCFC loyalist....my support of a mangaer is drriven by his success/failures not who he is where he is from but the job he does for the team.

A couple of people here have used the derisive term "one trick pony" on more than one occasion to describe RM, stating that RM used this term to describe himself.

If you could just point me to the relevant interview please?

Many thanks in advance.

Im not sire RM has used the term....I used it as many cused it last season when discussing the previous manager.

There are several threads where RM can be read and quoted though saying he has only a "Plan A" I am not aware of RM describing himself as the term I used .

I don't mind anyone who moves away from Swansea and supports the club. I've just got a problem with people who do that and subsequently rarely miss an opportunity to slag the club and city off.

Truer words have never been spoken, Jackrmee.

We dominated Hull, in every aspect of the game, and I guarantee you McCann didn’t set his team up to do that. It’s ridiculous to even try and make a defence of that, “gameplan” blah blah blah.

Hull were pinned in their own half, they couldn’t advance the ball whatsoever, and they could barely string two passes together or get any space anywhere on the pitch. They have several good players going forward - Lewis-Potter, Wilks, Moncur, Docherty - and we didn’t see anything from them the whole game. This definitely wasn’t their gameplan.

This joke of a bloke, like you say, is just the biggest forum troll, he’s clearly not a Swans fan. It’s beyond obvious at this point, and he’s clearly getting increasingly desperate as Martin’s system is taking shape and the players are beginning to perform in it. Coincidentally he’s dropped the whole “pragmatic football” line that was peddled endlessly before the break, swapping it out for “direct”. Lol.

The guy is on here all day arguing with every poster that says anything positive about the club and Martin. Sad individual with some clear issues and far, far too much time on his hands. Trolling isn’t a hobby, it’s an illness, and the guy needs help.
