| Wales v Belarus : WCQ Matchday Thread PLAY OFF UPDATE 16:06 - Nov 8 with 7278 views | NotLoyal | The matchday thread, a thread that threads better than the smallest thread through a needle. A needle and thread thread. With no needle. Wales v Belarus World Cup Qualifier The concourse stadium Saturday 13th November 2021 Kick off 7.45pm Now Wales have qualified, how do the playoffs work ? The winners of each group automatically qualify for the World Cup finals, which run from November 21 to December 18 2022, and three more teams will seal their place at the end of the playoffs in March. The playoffs take place from March 24 to 29, with 10 group runners-up joined by the two best group winners from the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League overall ranking that have neither qualified directly as group winners nor entered the playoffs already as group runners up. These 12 teams will be drawn into three playoff paths for one-off semi-finals and a final, with the three path winners then qualifying for the tournament in Qatar. The draw will be seeded based upon qualifying-round points - with the two UEFA Nations League teams being unseeded. Who's through and who needs what ? The order of preference for the two teams to enter the playoffs (if required) via the Nations League, of teams who are still able to use this route, is France, Wales, Austria, Czech Republic, meaning Robert Page's side are already guaranteed a playoff berth via their Nations League rankings.MAs Austria, and either Wales or Czech Republic, are guaranteed to finish outside the top two in their group, no other country is in contention for one of the two additional places. Wales go in to the next two games with World Cup qualification on their minds 8th Nov 2021 09:00It’s the final international break of the year, and Wales go in to two massive games over the next eight days. On Saturday Wales play against Belarus, and then their final game at home is on the following Tuesday to Belgium. The nation is extremely hopeful that a priority win against Belarus is secured before taking on Ex Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez and his Belgium side. 1 Wales : Nothing must get in the way tonight 13th Nov 2021 11:37Wales step in to the spotlight tonight as they go for the win against Belarus. Rob Page’s men, minus Swansea City’s Ben Cabango, Dundee United’s Dylan Levitt and a suspended Kieffer Moore will go all out for the three points. Then it is one more to gain from their final game on Tuesday against Belgium. 0 It all comes down to Tuesday night for Wales. Surely now it’s time for neutrality? 14th Nov 2021 09:00After a 5-1 win against group whipping boys Belarus last night Wales now find themselves just one point away from a positive draw in the World Cup play offs in March next year. Bizarrely written off by some as a nothing game Wales went second in their qualification group for Qatar 2022. At the start of this campaign every one would have signed up to this scenario for sure. 0 Gareth Bale out for the start against Belgium 15th Nov 2021 13:54Wales manager Rob Page has stated that Gareth Blade won’t be selected to start the game against Belgium tomorrow night. He as also said that was the plan all along. 0

Wales could have played a more accurate passing patient games and won 2--0. Page learned from the Estonia game that big strong defenders can limit chances. Page went for speed over accuracy. A few extra misplaced passes were of no consequence and few more long balls. The Belarus players were made uncomfortable with a traditional British game they were not used to. Almost all touches were taken rapidly to unsettle. This approach will not work against Belgium who will punish misplaced passes.

Was a shock coming back and reading this thread, we are a proper moaning bunch. Weren't long ago where there were over 120 better ranked teams than us in the world
