Covid variant B.1.1.529 11:00 - Nov 26 with 11901 viewstrampie

This latest covid variant sounds potentially serious, will there be a full lockdown by xmas ?, Blues and Scarlets trying to get back from SA, stock markets are crashing, will football be behind closed doors again ?, let's hope it's not as bad as some fear it could be.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

https://www.smh.com.au/politic

"The Therapeutic Goods Administration recorded 78,880 adverse events linked to COVID-19 vaccination, representing a small minority (0.21 per cent) of the 37.8 million doses administered to 18.4 million people, by November 7. The vast majority of those 78,000 adverse events were mild side effects, including headache, nausea and sore arms."

So no more than 0.1% of those reported side effects are worse than feeling a little bit unwell. Probably considerably less depending on what a vast majority is?

Compared to a 1% chance of dying from Covid and a far higher chance of getting severely ill from it.

You will catch Covid. Surely that article shows that getting vaccinated is by far the best option.

How do you make it mandatory? I mean I’m all for everyone getting it and anyone who doesn’t get it because of bollocks they’ve read on the internet is obviously a bit thick but it has to be a choice because there’s something incredibly sinister about holding people down and sticking a needle in their arm against their will.

Then you understand incorrectly, over 200 studies say it works at normal 200-400mg doses, with Zinc and an Antibiotic of course.

Cochrane reviews are the definitive standard in evidence-based medicine.

https://www.cochrane.org/news/

They don't consider it to work and do not recommend it. You can dress it up all you want, it's a pig in lipstick and the kind of nonsense which defects from what we should be doing:

1. Using vaccines
2. Using additional therapies such as regeneron's monoclonal antibody cocktail for those who cannot be effectively vaccinated
3. Continue to use supporting therapies like dexamethasone and improvements in management
4. Roll out the new anti-virals and continue to support the development of these and vaccines
5. Get the world vaccinated.

Ignoring this stupid Alt-right and Russian interference that is causing uncertainty and vaccine hesitancy is the best thing we can do.

I don't agree with mandatory vaccination. But I am quite happy that it's a requirement for entry into events, pubs, restaurants, theatres etc. and for travel. Notwithstanding that a small number of people genuinely cannot be vaccinated. Choice remains.

If you wanted to be safe as you can, everyone should be tested to enter public places. The unvaccinated who do tests to enter the stadium on match day are less likely to infect someone than the vaccinated who don't do tests.

Who was this someone? A stranger? Regardless, of course there will always be some people who are vaccinated and get seriously ill. My neighbour 2 doors down is vaccinated and boosted but he has COPD, Diabetes, a dodgy heart and he's 62. If he catches covid he has a higher chance of being seriously ill.

This mans mate, what are his circumstances, what is his age, his health status?

I'm almost 62, have COPD, had a cardiac arrest, a heart attack in February and an ongoing heart problem, I had Covid a month ago and was quite ill, luckily I'd had both jabs and booster since, I wouldn't like to think of the consequences if I hadn't

But the question you are asking is lacking common sense, surely you must be aware by now that the vaccinated can still carry the virus? So if the unvaccinated are taking a test to prove/show they have not got the virus. Then they are less likely to have the virus..

To ask for a citation on such a said remark, is a bit of a moment for me, but I was trying to be nice.

Thinking the human rights of fellow human beings are yours, the governments or anybody else's to take away makes me sick to the stomach. You really need to seek help as you have clearly been affected by the constant propaganda.
We should all have the choice
Jabbed or unjabbed to go anywhere
jabbed or unjabbed to stay at home if they don't feel safe
business's to open and serve whoever they choose, jabbed unjabbed or both
This clot shot is not a one size fits all that is clearly obvious.
make the alternative therapies available for those that want them.
If the government care about their fellow human beings so much
feed the starving, promote healthy lifestyles, stop the division, stop starting wars based on lies.
I could go on but you wouldn't understand as it doesn't suit your narrative

You can take and pass a lateral flow test a couple of days before the match and covid positive on the day. How much of a difference this is I have no idea but that also is the same for the other poster. A cited document to establish a claim as fact is reasonable.

So go scramble some eggs.

Not one of those studies used Zinc, which was a protocol requirement from when HCQ was first identified as a treatment. Only 2 studies used HCQ with an Antibiotic.
What is interesting is that reading the actual studies does not give the same impression as the Cochrane conclusion.
I suggest that you actually go and read them, there are at least 2 that have conclusions at odds with their results.
But here are the quotes from the studies themselves.

Abd‐Elsalam 2020 - After 28 days HCQ and Control Recovered 52 (53.6) 33 (34.0), Mild 23 (23.7) 39 (40.2), Moderate 8 (8.2) 11 (11.3), Severe 8 (8.2) 9 (9.2), Death 6 (6.1) 5 (5.1). Quote :- "overall mortality was not significantly associated with HCQ therapy; however, it was significantly related to the patient’s age, alanine aminotransferase, serum creatinine, serum ferritin, C-reactive protein, oxygen saturation, and the presence of diabetes mellitus "
Boulware 2020 - postexposure prophylaxis Quote :- "Outcome The primary outcome was the incidence of either laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 or illness compatible with Covid-19 within 14 days." and "The incidence of new illness compatible with Covid-19 did not differ significantly between participants receiving hydroxychloroquine (49 of 414 [11.8%]) and those receiving placebo (58 of 407 [14.3%])". So not "laboratory-confirmed Covid-19"
Cavalcanti 2020 - This is the study that says that 3 deaths are not better than 5 deaths at 15 days when Hydroxychloroquine plus Azithromycin are used. Which is still only 2/3rds of the recommended protocol. But on it's own HCQ also had 5 Deaths. Overal mortality HCQ +A = 5 Control = 6, Effect Estimate 0.64.

Chen 2020a - Quote :- " Radiological progression was shown on CT images in 5 cases (33.3%) of the HCQ group and 7 cases (46.7%) of the control group, and all patients showed improvement in follow-up examinations."
Chen 2020b - Quote :- "But for TTCR, the body temperature recovery time and the cough remission time were significantly shortened in the HCQ treatment group. Besides, a larger proportion of patients with improved pneumonia in the HCQ treatment group (80.6%, 25 of 31) compared with the control group (54.8%, 17 of 31). Notably, all 4 patients progressed to severe illness that occurred in the control group."
Chen 2020c - Quote :- "In the RCT, the median times to negative rRT-PCR from randomization to hospital day 14 were 5 days (95% CI; 1—9 days) and 10 days (95% CI; 2—12 days) for the HCQ and SOC groups, respectively (p = 0.40). On day 14, 81.0% (17/21) and 75.0% (9/12) of the subjects in the HCQ and SOC groups" and yet their conclusion was "Neither study demonstrated that HCQ shortened viral shedding in mild to moderate COVID-19 subjects."
Davoodi 2020 - Which is not a "control group trial" but a comparison trial between febuxostat (FBX) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) Quote :- "Fever, cough and tachypnoea were significantly mitigated in both groups after five days of treatments" and "The mean percentages of lung involvement were significantly reduced to 7.3% and 8% after 14 days of treatment with FBX and HCQ, respectively."
Horby 2020 (Recovery Study) a trial designed to fail.
Huang 2020 - A Cloroquine study not HCQ Quote :- "By Day 9, 6 patients (60%) in the Chloroquine group reached lung clearance, compared to 3 (25%) from the Lopinavir/Ritonavir group (Figure 1B, middle panel). By Day 14, the incidence rate of lung improvement based on CT imaging from the Chloroquine group was more than doubled to that of the Lopinavir/Ritonavir group (rate ratio 2.21, 95% CI 0.81—6.62). These results suggest that patients treated with Chloroquine appear to recover better and regain their pulmonary function quicker than those treated with Lopinavir/Ritonavir." and "In addition, consistent with the CT imaging data (Figure 1B, middle panel), patients treated with Chloroquine were discharged from hospital in a much quicker pace (Figure 1B, right panel). The first patient discharged from hospital was from the Lopinavir/Ritonavir group at Day 8, and the first discharged from the Chloroquine group was at Day 9. Encouragingly, by Day 14, all 10 patients (100%) from the Chloroquine group were discharged compared to 6 patients (50%) from the Lopinavir/Ritonavir group (Figure 1B, right panel; Supplementary Table S2). Furthermore, Chloroquine also appeared to promote quicker recovery compared to Lopinavir/Ritonavir recommended by health authorities in China."
Mitjà 2020a - Quote :- "Treatment did not reduce risk of hospitalization (7.1% control vs 5.9% intervention) nor shorten the time to complete resolution of symptoms (12 days, control vs 10 days, intervention)."? So
Mitjà 2020b - Quote :- "There was no significant difference in the primary outcome of PCR-confirmed, symptomatic Covid-19 disease (6.2% usual care vs. 5.7% HCQ; risk ratio 0.89.
Pan 2020 - WHO Solidarity study, No actual results published and not peer reviewed, only a "report" showing none of the 4 drugs worked.
Skipper 2020 - Quote "With placebo, 10 hospitalizations occurred (2 non—COVID-19—related), including 1 hospitalized death. With hydroxychloroquine, 4 hospitalizations occurred plus 1 nonhospitalized death " does not relate to quote "Conclusion: Hydroxychloroquine did not substantially reduce symptom severity in outpatients with early, mild COVID-19."
Tang 2020 - Quote "Hydroxychloroquine administrated at a loading dose of 1200 mg daily for three days followed by a maintenance dose of 800 mg daily" and "total treatment duration: two or three weeks ". Another study with overdosed patients, were they trying to kill them?

There have always been rich, there have always been poor.

The standard of living for the poor (in developed Western economies at least) has never been higher.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
