You truly are disgusting in your digs at AC You re big fella that is able to go to games So what ? Many are not in that position and you need to get your head out of your backside and see the light

| Mr Cooper on 13:17 - Dec 7 with 986 views | LittleEnglandJack | I won't be clapping or booing the bloke. Why would I? He's history. Having said that, if I bumped into him on the street I'd probably thank him for last season. Not because we actually achieved anything, or were in any way shape or form entertaining to watch... More because I regularly found last season absolutely hilarious watching us steamroll the opposition despite the fact we were eye-bleedingly bad to watch. That run of results where we somehow found ourselves winning thanks to dodgy late pens was exquisite shithousery that may never be topped Thanks for helping me laugh through lockdown, Mr Cooper. | | | |

| Mr Cooper on 06:05 - Dec 7 by Dr_Parnassus | You don't ''fall'' into the play-offs, you have to do a hell of a lot right before you can begin to rely on other results. First season we had to go away and beat Reading by 3 clear goals for a start, which we did. We did what we could control, that after losing a host of star players from the 10th place finish the year before and getting almost nothing to spend (500k). Second season we finished on 80 points, our joint record points tally in that league and 10 points clear of 7th place. That isn't ''falling into'' the play offs. That's incredibly dishonest to suggest so. 10 points is one hell of a margin. We had a great chance to go up automatically because we were playing well above our levels for an extremely long period of time, the fact we can say we had a good chance of auto promotion with the teams we were competing with was the success in itself. I'm afraid you aren't calling a spade a spade there. You are fraudulently misrepresenting excellent achievements. I would rather compete in the upper echelons of the league and lose in a play off final than be a bottom half team with no real prospect of play-off finals any day of the week. IF you think its a failure to get there and lose then its a catastrophe to never get there at all. [Post edited 7 Dec 2021 6:09]

OK perhaps we didn't fall into the play offs, we sleep walked. Last 5 games of the league season our results were DLDWL on the firm table over those games we were 18th. Let's face it we bottled it as we did in the play off final and the play offs the previous season.

God help us on here afterwards if we lose. He won't get any booing from me, nor any cheers or clapping. he is nothing to do with us anymore and now he is the opposition and I will treat him as such.

Isn’t that similar to our form now? Id rather sleepwalk into 4th than sleepwalk into 14th. As I said, even if we kept up our form of the first half of the season right the way to the end - we would still be 5 points short of automatics. Nothing was bottled. We lost to Brentford who were one of the best sides in the division and finished above us deservedly. We played them 6 times previously over those two years and got soundly beaten by them on half of those occasions. Brentford were odds on favourites in the Final. To say we bottled it wouldn’t be accurate, that statement is reserved for clear favourites bucking under pressure, we were expected to lose all round - and thus did. The fact we got there in the first place was remarkable.

There is no fan club of Cooper. There is a section of posters that hate him so lie about him and frame the clubs achievements in the negative. Then there is a section of posters that corrects them.

It’s not an opinion. I am stating facts. - We didn’t fall into the playoffs. We cleared them by 10 points, equalling a club record at that level. - We didn’t blow automatics. Even if we had kept the form of the first season up (by some miracle), we would still have fallen well short of automatics. - We didn’t bottle the final because we were quite large underdogs going into it and were soundly beaten by 2 goals or more in 50% of our recent meetings with them. These are facts. You are welcome to say you didn’t enjoy the style of play. You are welcome to say you didn’t like him - these are opinions that you are entitled to. But you cannot change facts or alter history, because they will just be corrected.

OK look again at the stats (as you like them so much) of the play off final. You are slating Martin for similar stats in matches yet it was fine for Cooper

I don't think I have ever slated Martin have I? Which comments are you referring to? For games I thought we were going to lose prior to the game due to the opposition being superior. Fulham this year for example, after the game I said something along the lines of ''no point in analysing that performance too much, didn't expect to win and we didn't''. This was the same against Brentford.

| Mr Cooper on 21:13 - Dec 7 with 765 views | Dr_Parnassus | Here you go:- ''Fulham are going to demolish a lot of teams this year, despite current form. If it stays like this I think we just write this one off. Fulham and WBA away are the two fixtures I’m not going to look too deep into. But of course it’s the fact these fixtures were in the horizon is why it was important to beat the likes of Hull and Millwall home and not be satisfied with 0-0 draws. Fulham look a class above, probably several… simply because they are and were always likely to be.'' | |

It is sad to say it, because it’s clearly not true. Unless on the same side of the coin you also accuse those that clearly hate Cooper of loving it when we lost last year. But of course a balanced view wouldn’t play into the current agenda on here would it…

Why is it clearly not true ? do you have any statistics to back up your claim ?

He did a fantastic job. Far more than ok. He equalled Brendan Rodgers’ record who is arguably one of the best managers in the Premier League.

| Mr Cooper on 12:51 - Dec 8 with 545 views | onehunglow | Our failure to win play offs was down to Cooper especially when Brentford went a man down. No excuses. He did achieve a play off place two seasons running. It is my belief Martin will not.We have been primed not to expect this. If we lose against Forest I will be nothing like happy no matter what some posters might think. We all -at least most of us-put the club above personal opinion. If individuals are right or wrong,it matters not. | |
