| MK Dons Raid on 13:41 - Dec 6 by onehunglow | Yep,a real goldmine of talent there. |
It’s how Keegan and Clemence started, lower leagues. Agreed it’s not massively exciting, but of course we both know nothing of the centre half. Although we did a feature in it a few days back.

| MK Dons Raid on 14:19 - Dec 6 by vetchonian | I certainly hope we dont.....you need to start realising I do often post tongue in cheek What ambition have we? what does it say about the quality of our young centrebacks if we are shopping in Div1....what about Cooper and Cabango..who came through our acadamy playing a passing game? I m being critisiced for criticising Martin but it does make me wonder does Martin really know what he is doing? we were all raving about Cooper and Cabango last season ...and again they have come through our acadmay playing the Swansea Way...under Cam Toshack playing passing football....I I rememebr there being calls for Cam to get the main job as he had the U23s playing the "Swansea Way".....obviously the "Swansea Way" is not the "Martin Way" |
I genuinely beleive we will win eight more games this season 😉

| MK Dons Raid on 17:10 - Dec 6 by 34dfgdf54 | Injured his ankle on being recalled from loan wasn't it? I thought he was fit for a chunk of last season, didn't realise he done the other so soon. What pre season did he miss though? Was a regular with Newport, and played for us start of the season but fell out of favour after the Preston defeat. |
He was injured/in rehab all summer with the second ankle. Russel Martin couldn't say enough positive about him for the quality he showed coming in when we badly needed him, but then the first choice players recovered from covid and we've not heard a peep since. Surprised he signed a new deal to be honest. If we sign more players his age ahead of him in January the smart move would be to look for a way out asap. Too old to hang around for the next manager after Martin to maybe provide the opportunities he needs to push on.

My worry for Cooper is his lack of pace, but he’s no slower than Rhys Williams on the evidence I’ve seen.

I see the trolls are out.....I can only speak for myself buti certainly a not hoping Coopers forest win on Saturday I have supported and followed this club for a long time and seen managers come and go some having 3 spells unlike players they are transitory yet the club which is the important thing remains. I want to see my club succeed I dont get the clap trap of how this season is better when we have scored won fewer games lost more scored less goals conceded more goals and have a lower goal expectancy than we have had for 3 seasons..yet the football is better. all i care about is are we successful...that said i wouldn't want to watch Pullis ball and despite what has been said we have yet to lower ourselves to that even over the last two seasons. we have an academy which has produced talent playing the Swanea way passing from defence yet our erstwhile manager seems none of these good enough

Personally I understand fully your concerns, and wouldn’t say anyone on here wants the swans to lose. However, I do see a lot of improvement, which we will disagree on I’m sure. I really do think Martin needs a bit more time, he hasn’t had a window let alone time when he came in to introduce his philosophy. We will break down the pros and cons this week, hopefully it will be a valued assessment good and indeed bad. The latter of which has been evident in numerous games.

Not trolling at all, but your dislike of Martin oozes out of your every post. I've been following the Swans for almost 60 years, and all I want is success for our club. But I'm more than happy to give Martin time in a transitional season.

Posters defending Martin who find it necessary to slag off Cooper - balanced out by those who big up Cooper when slaughtering Martin. It's just bloody tedious. [Post edited 6 Dec 2021 21:24]

I have no dislike of Martin as a person. Maybe it's my brain it's how I am..I measure things as I do in my professional life...good managers learn...all managers want to make change and improve. Martin seems determined to storm ahead with implementing his ultimate plan without perhaps the necessary resources or the right time. When implementing change you still need to keep in mind that a regressive trajectory will not support you ...consider this we finished last season 4th in the league..tonight we are 14th and have only won 1 game in our last 5...and that against a team that has won only 2 games this season. Why despite finding a winning formula and a good backline with laird Bennet Naughton manning and bidwell has he dropped bidwell to the bench moved Manning out wide and brought in Williams

absolutely.....ima Martin critic but purely because I dont believe he is delivering the potential of the squad..in preference to imposing his style of play. I rarely mention Cooper in my posts but because in the past I have defended him he gets referred to in responses ....

This could mean Plan C- Darling failed to make the grade at Cambridge Utd's academy until mid-late teens - when they ditch the technical/clever/naturally gifted players in favour of bigger brutes who can be fed into Reserve Team and 1st team - League 2 (at the time, in fact Cambridge were non-league at that point). (It's such a sad indictment about grassroots football in the UK (another story)). So Darling didn't cut it technically, he ain't technical. He was (most prob still is) a Leauge2/1 standard hoofballer. This is scary stuff. I feel for Cooper esp, even Cabango. . .

B.Cooper for me is streets ahead of the MK centre back, of course that could change but if it does it’s another nail in the academy’s progress.

That's because you went on and on about Cooper long after he had left. And stuck boot into Martin before he had started. Your mind was made up instantly not on your own though. Personally I am ok with a season of transition. [Post edited 6 Dec 2021 22:43]

Massively, in so many ways. Darling failed to make the academy, not good enough technically. The antithesis of a proper ball playing Cooper. A Skoda (pre VW) to Cooper's Bentley. This is truly troubling. I'm hoping it's not a Bobbley moment. Message to the Club: Recruitment team ensure a proper due diligence of this player and his lack of proper pedigree and heritage. Williams is in because of Liverpool pressure, I'm convinced of it, he wasn't getting a look in its only since there have been talks between SCFC and LFC, coincidence maybe, I'm not so sure.

. Yep. Initially in academy trials (where he repeatedly failed), youth football in the Cambs league, then when he had just cut his teeth as a pro at Cambridge when Jez George finally gave him a go, and then at MK dons. Back in yer box. It's such the pity that trolls like splatter only emerge when they think they can bite, to yet again fail and slunk away sadly. Grow up, and get yourself your own thought leadership, or even an original opinion. Thought leadership doesn't grow on trees. There's a thread there, for the omnipresent plagiarists here........ . .

Are you a cardiff fan? Serious question? I’ve literally only seen your username attacking Martin after a loss. Baffling why you put up with football if you get your kicks out of moaning when things go poorly and silent when things go well. Travesty of an account.

. You're clearly operating on an altogether inferior plane. (I can't be arsed to explain what that means to you, but you'd get the gist if you had any semblance of understanding). Post something meaningful, of substance, and earn the right. The right to then criticise others. Back on thread - Darling would be disastrous in so many ways. . .
