| Joel Piroe being watched by a top Premier League club on 21:55 - Dec 15 by Dr_Parnassus | Even if it were true that we had no debt, which it isn't... we would still sell at 10m. Unless the manager can show we are a serious bet for promotion then keeping such an asset on the book and allowing it to depreciate is a business no no. |
Piroe is not a depreciating asset other than to an accountant with zero football knowledge. Swansea in to run by accountants thank god. Piroe is increasing in value by the day.

Of course he is a depreciating asset, his contract runs out by the day, who will of course want to leave and be unhappy should we block any move to the Premier League where he can play at the highest level and earn much more. He signed a 3 year contract, of which this time next season will be an 18 month contract who can then shortly speak to clubs about leaving for free. Come on now Resolven, stop the silliness there's a good lad.

| Joel Piroe being watched by a top Premier League club on 19:51 - Dec 15 by Chief | Or more accurately Mindy may not even have known at the time that she even owned some shares. Since it was made public (not by Mindy herself or the other consortium members) we're probably just a nice anecdote to tell others from showbiz circles at parties. If she was aware that it was linked to stadium expansion (which is something you've just made up) she should be dismayed with the people that got her into this financial loss, and if she'd ever heard of Burnley she'd know we're are still years off them&possess less assets than them. Why would Mindi go for cheap shares? The expensive ones she bought are worth a lot less than when she bought them. Haha you defend the US owners when there are reasons when you should not constantly. Note the other thread that you've run away from because you cannot bring yourself to admit they are in the wrong over the CLN. You've just quietly left the thread get buried like a coward. "The US owners and others have made provisions for a lost legal case by lumbering the club with the job of paying off the SCST. This will be by recovering the CLN currently £13m and buying the SCST at current market value £8m. £13m plus £8m = £21m." Have they? When was that announced? Did Keith run a story on this news? So you're telling us that they are going laden the club with debt to pay off their own personal debts? And you think this is wonderful and wish them a good Xmas? And you expect people to think you have no vested interest? Fraud [Post edited 15 Dec 2021 19:54]

Its a sad fact that Mindi has invested more cash in Swansea city that the SCST ever have. I would guess at 3 to 5 times more in fact. This will make you angry and so it should. Season ticket holders need to ask why Mindi, or at least her US colleagues, is subsidising their tickets and the SCST are not. The US people mindful of the rough times the fans have been through Covid volunteered a £1.7m subsidy via the CLN. I am embarrassed at my Welsh colleagues. No one has even deemed to say thank you. We appear to have lost our civility. It is obvious that if there is a £21m bill to the owners from the SCST legal case in the next 4 years the owner will recover their loan reported at £13m. They will have to. You are angry I am pointing out the harsh realities. "Coward", "fraud" your game is up. Your argument is lost. Only a hard line activist would consider the US people taking their own money back as "theft". Perhaps the concept is over your pay grade. Smarter people good with numbers have no excuse. Piroe should be kept. He can get a lot of people out of the do do down the line.

Not quite. Kalling invested in personal shares, essentially placed a bet that the company value would rise. She has invested nothing to financially help that clubs stock rise, its a passive punt on a stock. If the offer is good enough then Piroe needs to be sold, especially if the manager isn't able to deliver successful football for another 3 transfer windows or whatever we are telling ourselves now.

Nothing silly sunshine. Piroe came to Swansea with 3 years on his deal and was worth £1m before he played Reading in his first game. Now he is talked about as £10m with half a year gone on his contract. Has he appreciated in value or depreciated in value since then in your view.?. I hope he has a extra years option. As book keeping exercise he has depreciated but football is not a book keeping exercise. Like all of your posts they are open to interpretation and there is an element of truth in what you say which gives it kudos. Its the way your roll. It is plain daft to say he is currently a depreciating asset in football terms. Swansea are not going to value him at £750k at the end of the season.

Sadly most of what you type these days is silly. He was worth 1m when we signed him yes, as we were the only club willing to pay it. In order to rise in value he had to prove himself to be a good championship goal-scorer, which he has done now. Now he has reached what is probably a peak for Championship goal-scorers with limited experience, regardless of what he does from here on in, his value is unlikely to go higher, from here on in he is a depreciating asset. I simply say it as it is, nothing to do with kudos. Again, this time next year he will be shortly be able to speak to clubs to leave for free. Is he likely to go higher than 10m in the meantime? No. Depreciating then.

What cash has Mindy invested? She's bought shares (we have no idea how much), but when did she 'invest' then? When is this getting publically announced? Is this more news the owners have hidden from the trust? Don't you mean the football club is subsiding the season tickets? Come on you know it's a loan that has to be paid back by the club (with interest). And if it's converted, they get shares in the club. This is not some philanthropic gesture. They've done it because it suits them. And there's no guarantee that 1.7mill is getting paid for out the loan anyway. Good, I don't want them loaning the club money and taking interest. Although you keeping ignoring the owners have only loaned about £5mill. Your figures are incorrect. You stated they'd lumber the club. You stated it yourself. I didn't need to make an argument, you did it for me. What numbers are apparently 'sbove my pay grade ' then? Silly misguided insult because you've been shown up yet again. I'll await you criticising the ownership if they sell him in January then. But we all know you won't do that won't we. You fraud. [Post edited 15 Dec 2021 23:23]

She has stated she has invested in Swansea city football club. She made the statement on Good morning Britai on ITV. She has bought shares in the club probably in excess of £500,000. The SCST in 2002 bought shares in Swansea city for £200,000. Some of that money went to Tony Petty to buy him off. Not a great deal of difference. Mindi may have contributed the CLN. Her colleagues certainly have. The SCST have not as far as I know. Mindi s money or at least that of her fellow investors has gone (according to Winter) to subsidise the 12,000 season ticket holder to a tune of £1.7m. This a a saving of £140 or so each. The US people as you know are smart. A loss in court will in my opinion hit the fans and club hard. They will call it 'medicine'. What is your opinion on this as a thinker and second most popular poster. Do you think a 100% win in court for the SCST will have no effect on the running of the club and the US people will simply pick up all the bills? .

Well she lied. We know for a fact she hasn't invested in the football club. She bought shares. And she probably doesn't of own as many as the trust. Poor Mindy. Her investments looking poor currently. Wow do you think Mindy was invited to join the CLN? Because we know the trust weren't although they have a larger shareholding. That's correct isn't it Resloven? Not sure why you're saying Mindy's money. As far as we know she's loaned the club nothing. So she's not relevant. And I say, that's a loan, or equity. It may benefit the fans, but it's also benefitting the Americans. It's not a charitable gesture. It's another no lose move for them. The people who appointed Bob Bradley and left the door open for legal action to actually happen are smart? Hmm jury's still out on that one Resloven. They've already used the hard medicine line for relegation. They can't publically come out and use that for a trust court win because we're not meant to know they're pilfering from the club. The awards got to come from their own pockets. Although you've told us tonight plans are already drawn up to defraud the club, that can't be acknowledged publicly by them can it. It will be their bill to pick up mind! Will they be dull enough to seriously handicap their asset which they paid £70mill for and isn't worth that now, let alone after a programme of crazy self destruction? No. I doubt it. Otherwise they're never getting their £70nill back.

Again, not quite. She invested in personal shares of the football club. It's a passive punt on a stock value rising. Unless you know of her directly boosting the coffers of the club then its not quite correct to say she has invested money INTO the club. The court case has no relevance to Mindi Kalling and whether she invested into the club or into personal shares.

Understand you are on a multiple thread battle with Res so wasn’t sure if it was worth joining the debate but hey ho . . . . Impossible to be accurate on the depreciating/appreciating debate at this point as we don’t know what the second half of the season will bring for him. He is currently 6-months into a 3-year contract so from that perspective (& if your only interest in him is maximum sale price) then a potential 10x uplift in what we paid in the summer is very good business. That said if he was to replicate his first 6-month performances & score another 12+ goals & 4+ assists then come next June I suspect we’d have more clubs interested & be looking around the 15x plus add-ones - so technically still appreciating. Of course & as always we are one ACL injury away from going back towards what we paid or if we were to buy/loan another striker in Jan & we started rotating him over the rest of the season then he may well depreciate in value. In reality we are not going up this season so any meaningful £8M+ offer, ideally with add ons noting his age, will be too good to turn down.

My point is that it doesn’t matter what he does from here on in, within the realms of realistic expectation that is. If we are saying his value is £10m now, if he scores another 11 this season (continuing the form) - it won’t be going up any more than that because he still remains under the umbrella of “inexperienced young championship striker”. He will be a punt, no more than that and they have a maximum value range. £10m sounds about like the upper reaches of that range. Especially as a non British player. If he was English then peak value may get to £15m like Adam Armstrong who scored 16 then 26 at this level before moving. Replicating that for a 3rd season at the cost of his contract length taking him into his final year wouldn’t have increased that value, it would have decreased it. So regardless of speculation regarding how many more he scores, we have a known fact that a player is tied to a contract of a certain length and after that is free to leave. With 12 months left they can speak to clubs about leaving for free. Piroe was signed for around £1m, if we rejected £10m at the end of the season for example. At what point does the value increase from £10m? Under what circumstance? What does he need to do extra?…. Knowing that in 12 months time he can talk to clubs freely about a free transfer. The truth is there is nothing, devoid of scoring a hattrick every week which would fall under the realms of extremely unlikely, to improve his value further as he will remain simply a punt for a Premier League team. Every year that passes he is worth less, that value drops in a curve, trending downwards quicker the more that contract gets eaten by time. The best example I can give is Joe Ledley at Cardiff. He reached a peak of £7m-£8m from memory, he was never going to be worth anymore than that and did indeed keep up his form, but they rejected the offer. He ended up leaving for free to Celtic, because his value depreciated with time to a point he wasn’t worth a penny. [Post edited 16 Dec 2021 8:22]

Broadly agree & as I stated earlier I’d take anywhere from £8M plus next month, however right now he’s only played 22 matches in this country so for me if he was to replicate - not score a hat-trick every match clearly - that over the remaining 24 matches (if Covid allows us to play them of course) & end the season with circa 25 goals & 8+ assists I’d expect us to be offered a few £M more as he would have proven himself over a longer period & highly likely that a wider group of clubs (including those gaining promotion) would be in the market for a striker. All that said there would be a higher risk of either drop off in form or injury impact over the next 5 months hence I’d be taking the cash, particularly as it may help if Covid returns us to closed stadiums.

Well yes if we were talking £8m then he would have a small amount of wiggle room for increase, but at £10m I don’t see what he can to do improve that within the realms of realistic probability. As I said Adam Armstrong when for £15m who kept up that kind of form and exceeded it, and he had the British premium attached so tough to see how it can go up any further regardless of what he does. But we do know that the contract length eats away at that value every year.

The value is hypothetical if he has a buy out in his contract.

All value is hypothetical until we have received a firm bid, I am worrying on the figure presented at £10m. Very little chance we get anywhere upwards of that regardless of what he does within the realistic realms of probability on the pitch. Very likely we get less the more his contract length disappears.

Personally I feel that if there is no buy out, his value would be strong for another 12 months then drop considerably. So in principle I agree with you.

| Joel Piroe being watched by a top Premier League club on 23:47 - Dec 15 by Chief | Well she lied. |
Mindi bought shares in the club in 2016. She owns about up to 1% of the club at a guess. The Trust bough shares in the club in 2002. They own 21% of the club. Mindi paid upto £1m for her shares. The Trust paid £200,000 for their shares which are now worth around £8m on the open market. Both Mindi and the Trust invested in Swansea city shares. Mindi based on limited information invested 5 times as much on her shares than the Trust did, Mindi may have contributed fresh investment cash into the CLN as part of the Levein group. This is to buy new shares in Swansea city and give Winter some cash for investment. The SCST have not asked to be involved as far as I know. I wish Mindi a merry Xmass. I wish the SCST a new phase of enlightenment and understanding for the new year. [Post edited 16 Dec 2021 16:03]

Hopefully the club have a extension clause. Piroe was an unproven 'dud' when he signed so did not have a particularly strong negotiating position. He is not a 'dud' now for sure. If he keeps scoring for another 12 months it is a nonsense to say his value is depreciating. At the end of this season he will have 2 years left plus an extension option hopefully. Brewster went for £23m. Swansea should not settle for £10m at 22 years old. McBurnie £18m. Players like this have a rarity value. Piggot is where Swansea were shopping last season

Yes so the trust made a better business decision and their holding currently more and worth more than Mindy's which has depreciated since she bought in. What's your point? Be careful of the obvious conflation of terms here. Yes Mindy invested in shares, the money from went into the pockets of the sellouts. That's very different from investing in the club and the club having money to use for its own use. So I'm struggling to see why you think it's such an impressive thing about Mindy paying so much for her shares. Since which she's barely mentioned the club and seems almost embarrassed by her involvement. The trust on the other hand are still involved on a daily basis and have been since the very darkest of times. So again, struggling to see your point. If indeed you have any. Yes you know the trust haven't been asked. That's well established. There's a whole thread on it which you seem scared to post on for some reason. You have no evidence that Mindy has any involvement either. But you do know that the trust have asked for clarification on what the CLN entails don't you? You are aware of that? So without that information which hasn't been forthcoming, how can the trust realistically ask to be in involved? Come on Resloven Bach, use some logic now. Oh dear the bias returns. No merry Xmas for the trust who work daily for the club? But merry Xmas for a 1% shareholder who couldn't point out Swansea on a map? I wonder why Fraud.

You should take your petty attempt to score points off the board because nobody is interested and you are spoiling it for everyone else. [Post edited 16 Dec 2021 16:39]

Buying shares in a company is called an 'investment'. Football people get confused over this word. Swansea city is a company and she bought shares in it. The SCST bought shares in 2002 and some of their money went into he pockets of Tony Petty to buy him out. I made the point that she has invested more of her money in Swansea city shares than the Trust have. The Trust's contribution to the club is £200k, They have since taken out around £600k in dividends. There is not doubt at all that their investment was real good business thanks to the work of Huw Jenkins and co. If anyone deserves a Christmas card it is him. There appears to be no requirement legally for the club to invite shareholders to loan the club money. They have not invited them and the SCST I presume have not expressed an interest while knowing the basic details. Take the matter up with Mr Winter. He held a structured dialogue the other day and there were no complaints. The SCST need reform. The SCST have taken more out of the club in dividends than they ever put in investment. This needs to be recognised. You should not use abusive phrases like 'Fraud'. It is against the rules.

No what actually happens is business people deliberately conflate the term even to the point that some journalists spout as fact that the Americans "have invested' in the Swans. Well we know better but it makes for an impressive headline. In reality, they bought shares. Huge difference in buying shares and actually investing although the term is used (incorrectly and disingenuously) for both things. And so what? As with Petty, the money Mindy paid went to the sellouts. What's so impressive about this? As I say the trust's business is far better than Mindy's which is worth less than when she bought in during very good times. Not like you to be disingenuous and omit things but I'm afraid I'll have to here Resloven. The trust also contributed hugely to clubs rise so don't pretend they didnt. And should huws hard work allow him to then disregard and the disrespect the trust the way he did when selling the club? To people who could well soon dilute the trust's holding lower? What do I keep telling you about balance? You may gain some credibility if you exercised it occasionally. As per the other thread, will you be brave to admit that the trust should have been invited and kept fully informed? Or are you going to cachu the bed again? The trust have requested the details. You know this. Reform in what way? Why? Because they question you're beloved Americans on matters regarding the club you claim to support? Get a grip. In your last paragraph you've literally described a CLN whereby a 21% Shareholder was excluded yet you conclude it's the excluded that needs reform? You are a fraud. You fraudalenty claim to be merely a supporter of the club.
