But with respect, how many died in England without covid. A vast majority more I'd imagine

Of course they do, but so do all the others dying with other ailments, which is far in excess of 143. We have to learn to live with this

1,550,000 test carried out on 23rd December. No test number data publish since so until the figures are published for the last week nobody knows if there is a test shortage of not. Likely to some difficulties getting hold of lateral flow test due to a doubling in demand and most chemist being shut for the last three days.

If there is a shortage at all it will be because over 9 out 10 people being tested did not need to test because they were negative. Everybody with a sniffle now thinks they have Omicron COVID.

So you agree then, it's not got enough funding to deal with all people poor lifestyle choices.

Exactly, it will end up like the flu, which we have a jab every year. Life is far to short, and at my age I intend to live what years I have left to the full. I'll keep calm and go on holidaying

It may, but also may not. You are right in that we have to live with it, but we are not quite there yet in terms of no restrictions or no testing. But yes, go on holiday. I am

214,000 vaccinations delivered on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day. Certainly better than shutting down and starting up again.

A hell of a lot of the staff in the vaccination centres also work in the hospitals, they’ve been hammered for the best part of 2 years. Given most would had already made plans as all this business about opening up has come late in the day, I don’t see an issue staff having a well earned break. We’ve had drop ins for ages and plenty of opportunity to get vaccinated in West Wales.

I absoultely don't have a problem with those that wanted a well deserved break having a break. But we have to recognise that many of those involved or wanting to be vaccinated may well have no particular interest in Christmas. Completely shutting the operation down for two days wasn't needed.

To be fair, the current guidelines are saying that cold symptoms mean you should get tested. I did an LFT today because I've had a runny nose and sore throat. The fact I'd been wearing a mask doesn't help because every day I come home with.....a sore throat and runny nose which clears up after a couple of hours without a mask on. When the Omicron symptoms are mimicking a common cold, what do we do? I now lean towards saying the most vulnerable need to take more care, the rest of us just get on with it. Bearing in mind I was told to shield last year but at my recent appointment my hepatology nurse said I was OK now, much improved blood tests, etc. I still wear a mask in shops, I use hand sanitiser and I try to avoid large crowds indoors as much as possible. Besides that I just need to get on with my life.

If the reported number of centres is 3,000 and they did a total of 210,000 vaccines over the 3 days, by maths that’s an average of 70 vaccines per centre over the 3 days which equates to an average of 23 vaccines per Ctr per day. Based on an average of 23 per centre you have to ask what was the wastage rate because the vaccines have a limited shelf life once defrosted. It’s great that 210,000 extra people were vaccinated, buts it’s nowhere near 7,000 per centre unless we’re only talking about 30 centres being open across the entire UK.

Exactly. I am 100 per cent for science, jabs and boosters. Its just that that relatively small number has to be set against tbe stresses and strains on the staff and organisations concerned. On balance Johnson might be marginally correct, but Drakers is certainly not wrong.
