There is nutjobs on the extreme of every societal branch.
If Theroux went to spend a week with ANFIFA when they are planning to use quick cement to seal exists and burn police stations to the ground hoping to murder all inside would be the same.
In terms of the left and right of politics the extremes are a very tiny minority, although feel the extreme is larger on the left than the right.
I think you could walk from the top of America to the bottom with a Biden hat on and not really face any issues, yet do the same with a Trump hat and you may well be attacked several times, yet the country is pretty equally divided over both.
That for me signifies that there is a greater threat of violence on the blue side, which would significantly the extremes are far greater in number on that side.

I watched it Jim and thought it was a superb piece of telly. I thought about posting a link to it on here but had second thought because it might be considered provocative. Everyone on he could do with watching it, and then asking a few questions of themselves.

Neither side is free of lunacy or guilt. The modern world, not just the USA, is much more divided than some realise or will accept. The polarisation of opinions continues to grow.

I don’t think he was particularly that inflammatory. I said this a couple of years into his Presidency and I still think it’s true today.
He provided the perfect figure for them to project their extremist views and actions and use him as a focal point for their anger. We literally saw 12 months of riots, never seen anything like it.
So another President may well mean they would be forced to suppress their views, but the extreme element would still be there and often shows itself in various riots, once the seal is broken they all come out to of the woodwork.
Where as you could pick any leftist President to visibly and you would probably be ok, no matter how extreme their views.

Those people weren’t attacking democrats for being democrats though. You are just talking about one riot vs hundreds on the other side.
I am certain you could walk through Texas with a Biden hat on and you would be perfectly safe, you may get a “Let’s go Brandon” comment but physically you would be fine, I’m sure of it.
The other side however I could guarantee you would be attacked. There are loads of documented examples of this already without even trying the experiment.
All extremes of politics are to be avoided like the plague. However there is only one group of people able to en masse force their views physically on the rest of us at the moment, it certainly wasn’t republicans rampaging through restaurants making the patrons make a black power/communist fist or face the mob.
I think a fair few need to asks themselves questions on this forum who ignores this kind of behaviour that we saw daily with no comment or condemnation…

I used to be considered a centrist, I’ve not changed my views and yet I’m now considered to be right wing.
What has happened is the left have become so insane they have alienated a lot of the centre who are now considered right, meaning the centre is now tiny, the right has a huge spectrum and the left is condensed into the more extreme of society.
There are a set of rules you must meet if you want to be part of the left, if you don’t then you are out. There is an ever increasing amount of people leaving the left, even famous staunch leftists in the US are speaking out and putting them at arms length.
Even Bill Maher has spoken out in recent weeks about the left and their insanity, he has long been considered the poster boy for the left. CNN have lost 25% of their viewership in the last year where as Fox is the most watched network amongst Democrats aged 25-54.
People have had enough of them and their extreme views being pushed onto normal folk.

Words aren't magic spells. Repeating something endlessly does not make it true, or come true. The facts are the facts are the facts are the facts.
