P & O still struggling to get safety certificates for their ferries. It has now bern over a month since all sailings were cancelled. Wonder how much money that has cost them. Now they are trying to reduce the wages of the cheap agency staff they brought in. They were all on temporary contracts of around a month.
The Maritime and Coastguard agency have insisted that P&O must honour the original contracts or all their ferries will have to be reinspected.
It seems all the agency stall were recruited by Malta based company. Clearly the EU must investigate why one of its countries allows staff to be hired at below EU minimum wages. | |
