Live for today and that is what matters they argue. This is perfectly valid. This had traction earlier in the season with posters pointing to ex manager Cooper rapidly improving Forest also with no pre season. Martin used a number of so called 'excuses' for poor performances in deep winter. No pre season, "the Patterson issue", unsuitable players not fit enough for the rigours of this style, tiredness. etc. injuries Covid disturbance etc. Perhaps for the first time the idea of developing for "next season" is beginning to make some sort of sense after three consistent performances and wins two without Downes. He recently stated he had to build the plane while 'in flight'. Martinez, Brendan and Potter all have pre-seasons to mould their team and playing style. Another decent result today for Cardiff city who were smashed out of sight last week by Martin's men . Were they so bad? Perhaps Swansea have taken 8 months to hit the groove.

Putting users on ignore that you don't wish to engage with is perfect behavior, something I have championed for a long time. What defeats the object however is doing so then continuing to talk about them. IF you have me on ignore, great. Don't stink up every thread talking about it though, as you still end up destroying threads that way.

Is this thinking valid? on 22:15 - Apr 12 by vetchonian | Check out the Millwall game last April we won 3 nil the 3 rd goal is a beuaty no lumping into the channels just pass and move from just inside our half.... the problem is people think we just lumped it up....We certsainly didnt dso that at Legoland in Decemebr 2020 |
The fact that you can find odd games when we didn't lump it up proves that in general we did ? To be honest the football was so boring under Cooper hard to remember any games. Think he bored most of us to sleep. Wish I had taken a pillow to Wembley ...

| Its all about next season! Is this thinking valid? on 22:46 - Apr 12 by Fireboy2 | Read my post again. I said 'mostly' not totally. We relied on ayews guile to bring others on and cooper relied on his leadership. When we needed the players to step up ie the PO final we were found wanting, we never even looked like getting a shot on target. Now I feel if we get a glimmer of hope of a PO place we are far better prepared to succeed. |
maybe had we had a couple of the players such as Obafemi Piroe Paterson last season we might have managed automatic promotion or won the final

I’d say almost certainly. We were crying out for a Piroe and we got a couple of American loans on their off season and unfit, neither of which was a centre forward. That was almost criminal. You can see why he was so furious.

Ayew is 5 foot 8, just saying. Your mind is wonderful, odd... but wonderful. [Post edited 13 Apr 2022 0:09]

height is irrelevant, it's the players skill that matters. Ayew has great control which is what matters most. You can play a wonderful pass to anyone but if their control is rubbish, it won't matter. Trundle wasn't very big but he could pluck a ball out of the air.

So you are saying our style was to lump it to Ayew to pluck it out of the air with his feet? I do wonder if anyone watched us last season. I’m starting to think it’s a figment of many peoples imagination.

as has been said on here unless you are at the ground at the game you dont really see and understand what is going on.Given none of us could attend games last season only watching on a screen must be the reason that though people watched their memories are gazy

Apart from our 5 goal self-inflicted disaster against Fulham we have been solid in defence 4 goals in our last 6 games against our average of 1.3 goals a game prior to that.

I think it is just a question of the players finally getting used to playing Martin's way. Kyle Naughton and Piroe are not playing in their natural positions are they ?

Obafemi had all but signed then got injured...Piroe was on the radar we got Morris and Arriola instead! MY own opinion is we were outplayed by a better team in the final...it didnt help we gifted them that early penalty and we were chasing the game from then on. Their second goal came from us throwing everything forward we had 6 players in their box two just outside Ayew lost the ball and they broke. We came close with an Ayew header just after half time ...we were giving it a go when Fulton got sent off. The whole experience was made worse by the fact we had twice gone to Wembley and come away winning...it was almost as though we expected to win....it was like the play off final against Northampton under Molby when we lost ...having won the Autoglass there under Burrows. All water under the bridge now...like I say we all have different opinions about last season and also the quality and style of football....thats why I was so vocal early doors this season...I sat through some boring bland stuff witnessing 0 -0 draws or us getting beaten whilst being told on here how much better it was this season!!! Opinions ...it was better as we could be at the ground....Im sure had we had to do the same as last season and watch from home many of us would have turned it off or found something else to look at alongside because entertaining it was not. ITs changed and long may it continue onwards and up wards

Mr Cooper criminally did not a get a song from a talented goalscorer from Sweden called Goykeres. He also criminally under used another Swede Peterson. Goykeres is playing out of his skin and scored a wonderful header the other day which was top class. Who is the better Piroe , Goykers or Cooper favourite Keenan Davis Cooper wanted on loan?. Sometime you have to make the best of what you have not pine for players that are not available. Three of the clubs recommended strikers in the last 18 months are really firing Piroe, Obafemi and Goykeres.

Goyokeres? You mean Mr Gyökeres? Mr Gyökeres has scored about 5 in his last 30 games. A poor striker who has had a purple patch of 10 games in his life It’s also a fact you called him rubbish last season. Oh how people readily forget the nonsense they spout.

However in truth I feel this season has been part of a longer game. Martin's blueprint has been to develop a style, which he has done from day one. The last 9 games have seen it become more successful as I believe the players have succeeded in delivering what he wants. At times it has been frustrating for us supporters, but at last it seems we are on track and will get success, if not this season then next IMHO COYS !!

A blueprint is a specific set of plans. It’s not a washy washy “we will develop something”. The blueprint was to continue his MK Dons style which is a drab pass it around the back and don’t care what the result is. That blueprint didn’t work here. He’s torn it down and scaled it right back to something resembling what many of us were calling for from week 2 or 3. But you can pretend that was always the plan if it helps.
