| Season ticket sales well down on last season on 13:28 - Jun 15 by builthjack | My eneghbour is a Villa season ticket holder. There are lots around here as their father's came to the area to build the Elan Valley dams and never went back. He pays £700 for his seat, and they have 27000 on the waiting list for season tickets. People, if they are passionate enough, somehow find the money. I don't know how. |
It is not about passion, its about having priorities. I don't value going to Swans games as highly as my job or spending time with my family. That doesn't mean i am any less passionate about it that anyone else.

| Season ticket sales well down on last season on 13:34 - Jun 15 by Dr_Parnassus | So the initial statement was complete nonsense as suspected then? As of 21st May last season we had sold 13,000 according to the Swans site. 21st May was around the time that statement was made this season wasn’t it, roughly? Meaning we were behind, and it’s also likely we weren’t just behind but well behind. [Post edited 15 Jun 2022 13:36]

My dialogue from this, we had sold 12,200 tickets as of the 23rd May last season, around 700 were gratis taking the amount of tickets taken up to nearly 13k. As of the 23rd of May this year, we had sold over 12,200 season tickets. In appx 3 weeks since, we have sold about 500 season tickets appx....thats not bad going at all. By this rate we should fingers crossed get the 14k sales, taking into account the price differences then it shows a superb commitment by many fans. As I said before, key word here is "sold". I know a lot of fans who had a roll over on tickets from the 2020/21 season. Going by all that, I think that the sale of tickets are encouraging in numbers so far this season.

It was clearly nonsense again Daps, just hold your hands up to this one. Season ticket numbers were well down at the time you posted and are still down now. You playing on the word “sold” doesn’t remove the obvious insinuation of your post which is why you never revealed any numbers. It’s this false achievement narrative that is damaging this club. It needs honesty, not people pretending and massaging figures to represent a false reality to what they are trying to convey. “More open play goals”… “more season tickets sold”… it’s all meaningless tripe designed to defraud.

Suppose it boils down to half full or half empty to how the individual wants to look at it, it's not as black and white as it appears. I am just glad that the numbers back up what I stated nearly 3 weeks back....i am just encouraged that since I posted the figures that we have shifted around 500 tickets in nearly 3 weeks. Well done all who have renewed or purchased 👌

Nothing to do with glasses being full or empty, it’s about reality and the truth. Not pushing a false version of that on others because it makes you feel better. You didn’t state any numbers 3 weeks back, you were asked repeatedly. You didn’t give any because you didn’t know any, you were trying to convey something that wasn’t true. Now the other site has blown that lie open you are trying to cover your tracks with word play and massaging numbers to make it fit. It doesn’t fit, it didn’t fit and it won’t fit.

So 12,800 sold and less than 10% to reach season ticket capacity. Looks like we could well sell out.

Just bumped the Pato thread where I posted some numbers to clarify what I posted on my last post. All numbers seem about right to what I stated so would hope people understand where I was coming from in regards to "sold" tickets. One thing for certain, it's clear that we are not well down on sales as per the OP here.

I don’t buy the word play I’m afraid. It’s yet another example of trying to create a false narrative. Which is what this Martin era has come to be in its entirety. We get hammered by a side who has 30% possession and instead of addressing it we say “we dominated them with 70% possession”. We struggle in front of goal and instead of addressing it we say “scored more from open play than x, y, z”. We struggle all season and instead of addressing it we say “but we were rubbish 20 years ago so where we are is great”. Season ticket sales are slow so we say “we have sold more this season”, completely ignoring the fact we are down on ST numbers by around 4 figures than last season. We get pumped by average teams and instead of addressing it it’s “the season of transition, next season will be the one we go for it”. Next season comes “Aah I think mid table again will be fine actually”… It’s just a roundabout of continuous nonsense that doesn’t seem to end. Don’t buy it I’m afraid.

100% I agree, I have written off last season to give him and some supporters the benefit of the doubt. I will not write this season off, If Martin doesn't produce a serious uptick on performances and results next season, I will be warming up my he needs to be sacked vocals. The lack of positive signings so far, gives me doubts before a ball has been kicked, especially with large imbalances in the squad.

This side needs to be a serious challenge to the play off positions. Anything less is yet another year of abject failure. Obafemi, Piroe, Grimes, Downes all linked to Premier League teams. Ntcham, Pato, Cabango and Naughton all players that could be playing for the very best sides in this division. 15th last season was not good enough and anything remotely similar this season should be met with a demand for change.

| Season ticket sales well down on last season on 08:15 - Jun 16 with 1224 views | magicdaps10 | It appears that some fans really don't get the logic of business here. So it appears and I am guessing here, we around 500 down on tickets that fans have bought/obtained to last year. This year the tickets are more expensive and there has been no eye catching special offers. I think it would be clear that we have likely pulled in more money in regards to season tickets this summer compared to last summer. What if, our last 1k tickets were offered to school children/key workers for let's say £99 between now and the start of the season, they would likely go and go quick. This would result in us selling our season tickets and the club then announcing all tickets being sold.... WOW many would say but the stark reality would be that it's not quite as clear as it would appear. Last season the club had to honour around 700 tickets to the previous non covid show, those tickets were put onto the 2021/22 season. The numbers don't show a true reflection, the basis from the previous season can't really be compared but one thing is clear......we are not well down on sales compared to last season and for those who like to challenge other posters then it's head scratching that the OP hasn't been questioned especially taking into account posters being questioned when they say sales are up, consistency again! Listen all, sales are good, more money has been taken in this summer than last. One thing has been shown, prices are not as good as last season and I can understand some fans not renewing financially but all taken into consideration......plenty of fans are still hungry for that match day experience and want to get behind the Swans and show their support, not sure what the season ticket numbers stand of today but more money has been spent this season than last, dedication and support is still there. Holes can be picked but you can only applaud those people who put their hands in their pockets. I haven't got a season myself but I will be buying tickets through the season and I help contribute sponsorship towards the club. | |

It has nothing to do with business. It's to do with the incorrect notion that more season tickets had been shifted to fans this season than last season. They haven't, attendances will be down, as will match day spend. This is in no small part down to our poor performance last season and the lack of faith in Russell's system as shown by the various polls last season. Had we challenged for the play-offs, as we should have done - I don't think the decline would exist. [Post edited 16 Jun 2022 9:01]

I'll throw something into the mix. I was told of someone who bought his season ticket through the finance option last season and purchased it in the early booking window. There was apparently a massive mix up in this area and he did not get his seat and it was sold to someone else later (July I think). Apparently this happened to many. Add in the various seasonal membership clubs (hospitality) several are already sold out some still have limited space are these already included in season ticket sales, as some are sold on a season by season basis. Or are they on top of the 12,800 sold. its not easy to judge sales and rever accurate to speculate.

There is nothing to throw into any mix. We are behind on season ticket holders this season in comparison to last. It is as simple as that.

There is a lot of these situations, even more than you have mentioned that are not considered by people. I will say it again, some fans finances are not going too allow them or even stretch to buying tickets this season...the fact that there was/is no deal as it was last year will affect a number of fans. I can only confirm what I was told nearly 3wks ago and a poster in another site virtually backed up my numbers. I have no agenda and I am certainly not washing when people create things like this to beat Martin with a stick. I agree with one poster on this thread, this season Martin needs to up his game, I have a varying view on what that is but that's another story. As for tickets, I don't know the numbers as if today but I can be sure that the club would have taken more money in this summer compared to kast on those sales....i am not trying to flip it but plenty are happy to pay more, some cantafford or justify paying for one, some are not renewing for football matters. Either way If we don't sell as many then you an be assured that we have taken in more money this season.... Those fans who didn't buy one or won't, they most certainly will go to games when it suits this coming season.

Agreed. There are some who buy season tickets and some who don't for various reasons, its always been the same. If 14,000 is the limit for season tickets I am confident these will all be gone. Its quite surprising how many students buy season tickets and they are not back until September £225 is an attractive price for them.

Completely irrelevant. The point is less people have season tickets this season than they did last season, as another poster confirmed on the site you talk about. 3 weeks ago it was yet again attempted to be portrayed as the opposite.

What a load of horse… We were leaky in some games and lost some we should have won but … We scored more than last season. Scoring from open play suggests we played or tried to attacking football not one dimensional pap served up for two season. Given the last two seasons of disruption and 2019-2021 of dire football I'm surprised STs are selling so well. But that approach doesn’t fit the negative narrative of constantly whining about not being in the Premier League because we are a big club'. We are not a big club and apart from a few seasons we are doing as well as e have throughout our history. Our wider area has a small population and since the mid-80 has been poor. Just looked up average attendances (numbers go back the 81-82) and we had only one season outside the PL / First Division when average attendances were higher than last season. Which part do you disagree with specifically? What I said was factually correct, it was not an opinion. - Leaky in some games? We had one of the worst defences in the league, only 5 teams conceded less. - We based our game on defence last season, it would be a concern if we didn't score more. We only scored around 4 more but our game was not based on defence, thats the major problem. Thats why we came 15th as opposed to 4th. - Scoring from open play does not suggest anything of the sort. It means we are so poor at set pieces that we have to push late on for goals we are lacking in areas we should be dangerous from. We often reverted to direct football in the last 30 mins because we were often not in front. What do you mean given 2 seasons of disruption? We shifted more ST's last season than this season, this is a fact. I understand you may not like that fact, but a fact it remains. How we have done historically has no bearing on how we should be doing now, I don't understand where that idiotic notion has come from. I also don't know why you are comparing attendances from 1981 to now. Does that mean we have sold more this season all of a sudden? No. Stick to the facts, stop with the nonsense.

If 14,000 is the limit for season tickets I am confident these will all be gone. Its quite surprising how many students buy season tickets and they are not back until September £225 is an attractive price for them. |
I wouldn't have factored the students into it, surprises me that one but I can certainly understand it. This season ticket chat has really opened up a bit since I posted that sales were up, I think the OP on this one is wide of the mark going by the numbers from this site and another poster on another site....both numbers seem to tally up. I don't think we can ignore the financial costs going up in the world have a massive say with season tickets and I am pkleasently Suprised from what I heard how good the sales are considering the issues people have. It saddens me that this discussion around tickets is being used as a stick to hit the clubs manager when in reality if the sales were down it would likely be down to the fact that A. They were not as cheap as last seasons B. The finances of many are in a situation that won't justify or allow them to buy.

Watford. 12k Sunderland. 27k Coventry. 12k PNE. Just shy of 11k. Sheff Utd. Just pass the 20k Norwich. Just sht of 20k. Thought it would give a comparison. Blackburn are supposedly struggling with sales compared to last year as are Stoke.

Nobody is using them as a stick against the club, just against what you wanted to portray which wasn't true. Season tickets selling at an okay rate is not the discussion. It was the false narrative that was put on here quite intentionally.

Ticket sales are up. You are talking numbers "shifted". What I posted was what I was informed and to be informative to other posters.... You didn't like it and as usual threw your toys out of your pram. My figures tally with the other poster and as I said.... We had as of the date I gave sold more this year to last. Once again, if these things can't be accepted by yourself and you take it personally then maybe you should take a break from this site or even pack it in because you are just continually showing yourself up with your silly nonsense.
