Candidates have until 6pm tonight to get 20 nominations from MPs to stand in the first round ballot tomorrow.

The new leader will be announced on September 5, becoming PM the following day.

Boris will have his final farewell party on November 17th, then the bailiffs will enter the next day to forcibly remove him from Downing St.

Sir Keir had Johnson on the ropes today, played about with him, then knocked him out.
A shame for the Tories that he isn't a Con man. He would be the best bet for leader.
He can wait 2 years though.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Swansea MP destroys Johnsons record …

I've met Geraint Davies twice. He's not the sharpest tool in the box, and that's putting it mildly. Another worthless political placeman parachuted into a safe seat. Says a lot when Carolyn Harris comes across as much more switched on.

Swansea used to have quality MP's.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I'll put it another way, he's not sharp but he is a tool! Who votes for these people? This is why I like to meet the candidates in person, I'm not the brightest spark but if someone can stand on my doorstep and make sense, can make a good argument and. come across like a decent person, they have a chance. If they seem like a screaming idiot to me they have no chance.

That was why I voted greens at the last local election, their candidates made the time to come to my door and talk to me face to face, others didn't show up and one Labour candidate fed me BS and then didnt answer the questions.

What Westminster needs is more honesty and decency, some proper standards and not the stinking morass that has been growing for years. Bojo was a symptom of what went before him as much as the cause of where we are now.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

He’s an absolute beauty, Doc. Of all the pilfering of the public purse that occurred during the MPs expenses scandal he somehow contrived to come top of the whole rancid heap.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/

It’s not just that, he’s completely hapless. At a ‘free Palestine’ rally in Castle Square last year, the same place I used to go as a child in the early ‘70s to feed the pigeons with my grandpa, he hands over the mic to a gaggle of demented moslems who start screaming about “death to Jews!”

This is the bloke young Acejack goes knocking doors for. His time would be better served doing it for Betterware or Avon! 🙈

Shame Starmer had to wait until Bojo had knocked himself out before landing any decent blows, where has he been the last 2 years?

He's wetter than the Marianas trench. Maybe he'll make a decent PM, he's not been great opposition though.

MsTruss the favourite per the odds, in this day and age any indiscretions from the past doesn't seem to have the same effect as they may have had in years gone by.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

It will hardly fill anyone outside the Tory membership with confidence if she wins. There again, many people don't fancy Sunak as PM either. We're back to the Devil and the Depp Blue Sea, screwed whoever wins.

Any candidate supported by Jacob Rees Mogg and Nadine Dorries should never be allowed anywhere near number 10.

Indeed.

By my standards I don't like her previous indiscretions, it says a lot about her has a person imo even if some would argue it has nothing to do with politics, there are mistakes and there are mistakes that last going on 2 years.

The biggest problem is there is no serious opposition the the Conservatives and has not been for years, similarly in Wales with Labour. The lack of a decent opposition means the ruling party can do as they like. With the majority that is in place in Westminster and the Senedd I can't see there being a change at either of the next elections.

Yes spot on, all his posts come across as being a Tory lover yet he votes for the extreme left, the press think the Greens are extreme left anyway, the other party he was off about voting for was a small right wing nationalist party you couldn't make it up.

No, that's just yur perception because I dare criticise your beloved Labour party. You never notice when I criticise the tories though, or any other politician.

I tell you what, though you probably won't be bothered, trawl through my posts and show me where I openly praise the tories. Or maybe trawl through and notice what I've actually said about them and Bojo.

Criticisng Labour doesn't make me tory and more than criticisng Russell Martin makes me a Cradiff fan.

You could maybe remove the blinkers?

That is the Tory press saying that, which let's face it, most the press are Tory so people read that and think there is no opposition.
I tell you what though, Starmer would take Sunak or Truss to the cleaners, and if there was a general election tomorrow there would only be one winner.
Even though the press, 80% of whom are Tory, would dontheir best to discretion Starmer.
