For those who didn't hear her, this hag was comparing herself to Abe Lincoln and calling for another civil war in this speech.

A great example of how delusionally out of touch the Democrats and the legacy media have become is the calls for Abe Cheney to run for President in two, just to stop Trump from returning to the Oval Office.

Never mind the fact that Trump's approval numbers have been consistently in the 90's with Republicans (popularity even Reagan couldn't match) for the last 6 years. Never mind the fact she was defeated in the primary BY 37% by a relatively unknown, but Trump endorsed, rival.

That said, the perfect scenario would be Trump running in 24 against a far Left Democrat (which is 90% of them), and Abe Cheney running as an independent, splitting the Trump-hating vote.

POTY 2015
Poll: Biggest signing so far in January? (just curious what Planet Swans thinks)

What you call far left, we would call Tony Blair! There is no far left in US politics, You have centre right and further right.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I’ve mentioned on here before about having gone to see Bernie Sanders speak, Cat. He is certainly of ‘the Left,’ the democratic left (lower case D,) and not to be confused with the creepy oddballs running around in balaclavas.

He was interesting, if more than a little tired, as you’d expect from a man of his age who had just crossed the Atlantic. The terrain he occupied was not unlike that you’d probably associate with individuals like Peter Shore or Barbara Castle for the sake of a relatable comparison; and, like them, his rhetoric comes more from the gut and heart than any intellectual/ideological school: I probably agreed with about 80% of what he had to say.

It was quite sad to see the way he was hustled out of the candidacy race the last time around to pave the way for the empty chair and the invisible woman.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

The US media has been describing Biden as having shifted to the left, yet when he won he continued with some of Trums policies, those which he had sworn to reverse.

He may be left wing to those further right wing Americans but to someone like Corbyn, is he really a lefty?

is it tantamount to someone calling me a Tory because I criticise labour or am not as left wing as they are? For example, I am definitely to the right of Trampie but does that make me rght wing?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The Biden admin literally reversed all Trump era policies within the first couple of days of taking office, whether the policies were working or not.

Our Texan contributor will confirm this I'm sure.

Yep. Many of them were reversed day one.

Remain in Mexico - the common sense policy that sent back illegal border crossers who were caught - took Biden a year and a half to reverse using corrupt judges. Now illegals are welcomed in and asked to appear before a judge at a later date, which they almost never do. Basically, we have an open border now, and we are now seeing crazy scenes like this in Texas:

Here are just a few other examples FROM JUST THE FIRST DAY BIDEN TOOK OFFICE:

Climate change — Re-joined the Paris "climate accord" which puts all the burden on Western nations while giving China a free pass to increase its carbon footprint, a process completed by the end of February.

Cancel the Keystone XL oil pipeline. Trump made the USA oil independent for the first time since 1945, and this is just one example of why that has ended now, and Biden is left begging a Saudi Arabian murderer to produce more.

Dissolved the Trump administration’s 1776 Commission which sought to end "alternative teaching" of American history that demonized the Founding Fathers.

Undid the Trump’s restrictions on US entry for passport holders from seven Muslim-majority countries. These 7 countries were deemed major homeland security risks by Obama - not Trump - but Trump's common sense restrictions on immigration from those countries were still hated by the media and Democrats because...Orange Man Bad.

Immigration reform — Reverse Trump’s crackdown on immigration enforcement within the US. As a result, the smuggling of fentanyl and other deadly drugs through the border has exploded. You could argue that nobody has benefitted from Biden's elec...installment in the White House more than Latin American drug cartels.

Halt Trump’s border wall — Pull the plug on construction of the border wall by terminating the national emergency declaration used to fund it. NOTE - due to the disastrous results of this one, Biden quietly re-started construction on the wall this summer.

There's a lot more, but this is all I have time to post for now.

No comment, just because I would always consider anyone from the Gower Peninsula my brother or sister. So I really don't want to go there.

And sincerely, the Leftists from Wales are much less psychotically unhinged than American Leftists, and still relatively capable of discourse. At least on this BBS.

Yes - always best to bury your head in the sand if you dont live in the place under discussion.

Perhaps discussion threads are not really for you … 🤷‍♂️
