| Wizz Air suspends flights from Cardiff on 14:18 - Aug 12 by bennytheblue | Plenty of monied people in Bristol, Devon, Dorset Gloucestershire, Cotswolds etc….South Wales is a poor area in comparison. The Welsh gov should just have let the airport die completely, maybe picked it up for nothing who knows? What is it is 3 miles to the m4 link rd at culver house? A direct link from there would make a huge difference but only with a proper airline present. |
People in the South West also have the option of Exeter (which probably has as many flights as Cardiff) & Southampton as well. All of us bar the most blinkered labour loving idiots know where the problem lies. A direct link from the M4 which I thought was going to be built going through Pendoylan is now (I presume) stopped as Drippy has stopped any new road projects. Its a travesty how this government holds back any prosperity in Wales & we have idiots who believe that because we have wind & water that Wales would prosper as an independent country.

The infamous stretch of M4 bi passing Newport is scandalous. Really stopping the potential business growth in Wales. I think it was last year we went down to South Devon on a Sunday. Only two place we were held up. Newport on the way and Newport on the way back. Absolutely flew past the periphery of Bristol. Don't start me on the 50 mph on the A465 from Brynmawr to Abergavenny. It took forking ages to build and then they slow it down. There is hardly a house insight. So not built up at all.

Always amazes me the old road links are no good statements. Straight down the A48 turn right at 5 mile lane straight to the top of Barry Weycock cross roundabout turn right straight to the airport. Want to use the M4 turn off at Jct 33 Culverhouse onto the A 48 or straight across the top of Barry to Weycock Croos roundabout. One of the easiest airports to get to that I've ever travelled from. ( Just read that there is now a new bypass however people have forever been saying that Bristol had better road links which is absolute nonsense) I once woke up late at 7.10 am for a 7.45 flight, dashed up the airport and was sat in my seat on the plane on the departure stand at 7.40 am. Admittedly this wouldn't have been feasible at a busy airport but I'm at a complete and utter losses as to why anyone says that the transport links to Rhoose airport are poor. Especially considering the nightmare travelling to Bristol Airport by comparison. [Post edited 12 Aug 2022 23:02]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I agree. 5 mile lane is probably the best option now, as the road has been widened and vastly improved. Bristol can be a pain to get to, despite the new by pass. The Portway can be hard work, with all the different speed limits, the bus lanes and roundabouts

We paid for HS2 but got zero benefit. Poor Wales subsidising wealthy England. Meanwhile both Norn Iron and Scotland got their fair share. Subsidising England is something Wales has prospered at. Welsh labour cant protect us, we need Annibyniaeth! ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿

Wales gets far more from the UK government per person than the UK average under the Barnett formula as you well know. Why do you keep posting lies that Wales is subsidising England? Even when the UK offers to fully fund the vital infrastructure in Wales, like the M4 relief road Drakeford refuses it. I noticed the Senedd did not refuse UK taxpayers money received via the EU to pay for the Heads of the Valley road upgrade. Not sure why you have gone off topic AGAIN on a post that concerns Rhoose airport. Seems like another one of your racists anti British rants.

Yes, it's easy to get to when the roads are quiet, I've flown from there around 6am several times and it is easy then, there are no queues on the 4232, there are no queues inside the airport. However, if the airport was busy enough to be sustainable that would change. Besides which, it's easy to get to from where you are and even here on the eastside of Swansea and NPT but that won't be enough for it. Nobody North of Leominster/Rhayader is going to travel South, there are better options. Nobody across the bridge is going to use it, Bristol and Exeter are their choices, even people on the South Wwest coast travel to Bristol because they can't get where they are going from Cardiff. It loses money on EVERY passenger, the Senedd throws millions at it every year but we have more important things to spend that money on.
