He will have only 12 months left when he recovers from his latest injury. The payer could have been signed but not a three year deal with no options. He is like Tom Carroll was. QPR and Ipswich gave him a one year deals. Out of the game at 30. [Post edited 4 Sep 2022 13:47]

Then in his first training session with us the hamstring went. Medicals aren't a legal requirement they're about insurance and clubs doing their due diligence. It's rarely a good idea to sign someone without having tests done, but if you know there are issues but still want the player there's nothing stopping you. [Post edited 3 Sep 2022 12:42]

The fact is he signed so late probably didn't have a chance to have the medical. However i am sure the clubs medical team had access to extensive medical records and his medical results when signed for Shrewsbury so perhaps a decision was made based on them. They may have also know he had a niggle and be out for a few weeks but were ok with that.

Regardless of whether Ogbeta was injured when he signed or not. He still can’t get a competitive kick of a football and that’s got nothing to do with a tweaked hamstring playing for Shrewsbury

Russell Martin's own words on the Ogbeta signing ... "I don’t like doing business late on in the transfer window, especially on deadline day as we did so he signed late, he couldn’t have a medical, he was injured ..."
| Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎 |
