In amongst all the noise surrounding his behaviour once again for his club side Obafemi celebrated by putting his fingers in his ears and closing his eyes. That was a sure reference to the recent issues he has had since the transfer window. Self made issues which we have seen before at Swansea City. 0 Michael Obarated ?

This fella,is what us "scousers" refer to a rather misguided young fellow. Truly ,one we need to offload asap . To think he is with us and Whittaker was knobbed off as soon as he could be.

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Takes an assumption and runs with it. Could be any number of reasons why he celebrated like that. Not everything is Swans related.

About time he got his head down and tried to achieve something in his career. Only one thing that winds me up in football than a player with attitude. Is a player with attitude who has achieved nothing of note giving it the big I am. Be glad when he moves on. [Post edited 28 Sep 2022 17:55]

He also said in the interview after that he plays better when he feels welcome by the fans and he feels welcome playing for Ireland. Not sure if that was a dig, you never know anymore.

Give him 20 minutes in a room with a few passionate fans.

Are they going to duff him up? The "passionate fans" were claiming for weeks without any proof whatsoever that he'd refused to play. Probably best we keep them as far away from our players as possible or they'll all want out.

Why would they even think about duffing him up ????? I would think that they would ask him why they should (some of them likely to be on minimum wage or low wage) pay their hard earned money to watch this highly paid individual who is paid to represent their club, throw a strop because he cant get a transfer, and refuse to train and play.

Again I ask a simple question. Maybe one day someone will be able to answer. Where is the evidence that Obafemi has at any point refused to play?

I think a lot of people have seized on Martin's statement that "he's not in the right frame of mind" as a means of making 2+2=5. I'm not denying that he's had a strop about missing out on a move. The stories that he skipped training may even have some truth. I'm not buying for a second that he's refused to play though. He pissed Martin off. For that reason he had to serve a spell on the naughty step. We were without one of if not the best out and out striker at the club so Martin could make a point. Childish and unnecessary. At the end of the last game they cheerfully embraced in the centre circle so between them it would appear all settled. Hopefully the dimwits who chose to boo him onto the field mature a bit before the next game.

And why would he say he plays better in front of fans who appreciate him. An obvious skit at our fans he only plays for Ireland and us. Who else could he be referring to. A millionaire sulked because he could not earn even more due to Burnley not offering enough money. Then he has a pop at the fans after they booed him. He has obvious issues and needs to grow up. i can see where the boo boys are coming from. You have people on £300 a week, who if they didnt put a shift in every day, would get the dcm card off their employer. I hope he changes his attitude and gives 100% for the club who pay his wages and keep in in a luxury lifestyle. By the way, I didnt boo him.

When the manager said on the day after the transfer window ended that a Obafemi spoke to him and said he didn’t feel like it.

I'm looking at the quotes on the BBC website now. The actual quotes make it sound like a mutual decision with the added usual Martin waffle about showing wilingness and knuckling down which he's used before about several players left out for no reason other than their faces not fitting with him. At no point are the words "Michael didn't want to play" used.

None of us actually know;we just listen to that which Martin spouts then the player and how we read the body language. I don't trust Martin and that is the case with Obefemi and indeed most if not all players.

| Obafemi back to doing what he does best, but he still can’t resist a dig on 09:53 - Sep 29 with 981 views | jack247 | He’s acting immaturely and the team is playing better and picking up more points without him. Doesn’t change the fact he’s a fantastic striker and Martin will probably have to indulge him a little bit. Whether he wants to go or we want to sell him, he needs to be knuckling down and forcing his way back into the first team. Strops and childish barbs when he is with the ROI aren’t helping anyone. If Martin is making it difficult for him (and I’ve seen nothing to suggest he is), then that won’t help either. | | | |

I see the manager as a very honest and open person. I don’t se much of what he says as spouting. Obafemi’s attitude is obviously destructive at times. So much so he has rarely featured of late. And the Irish manager needs to butt out as well.

It's good to disagree NL. I stand by every word When Martin describes players as "good person" then dumps them,it kinda gets my cynical side going.

Then more articles like this one come out attacking him again for not being an unfeeling robotic professional. Bit like with Bale at Madrid; every week he was getting it from fans and the media but the second he responded in-kind he was made out to be the villain of the piece. Give it a rest and leave the boy be.

I would have thought it’s similar to an argument. One person has a point then the next one is made. Nobody is condoning booing of players, that’s a stretch too far. But fans opinion, general viewpoints and responses is what we are all about. Michael has a wonderful opportunity to fulfil all his dreams, if it wasn’t for the swans he would never be in this position IMO. This site is not against him, but it’s entitled to report and offer opinion. As is anyone else who can be bothered to write on any subject. But really Michael Obafemi needs to understand that acts of defiance and now his latest comments do nothing to endear him to supporters of any club. Maybe a goal celebration that wasn’t understood and then when asked about it he said it was thanking the club - and maybe being the bigger man and apologising irrespective of the intricate details of this latest nonsense. Just a thought.
