I see that he's stopped the £200 winter fuel payment here, a Labour party for the people indeed, mans beyond a joke, apparently we can't afford it, whilst he lead a party of his cronies over to Qatar to watch the World Cup, needs a good old dunking in the Taff, the absolute buffoon.

The more that the government removes the profit from renting property the less stock there will be available, and the poorer the upkeep will be.
This government is having a really good go at taxing the country into poverty.

Following a property boom, we have increased regulation on top of increased mortgage costs and reduction in CGT. A couple of people I know have sold up this year before the regulation hits.

Apparently around 17 percent of property on the market is former rental property!

And many landlords through Thatcher giving away housing stick only to treat the most vulnerable like rats .
Thatchers greatest sin .

There are still the same number of bouses just that the reliable hard working tenants of council house had the opportunity to buy the house they lived in.
The tragedy is under Blair and Brown virtually no new council houses were built.

Thatcher of course did not give them away but that does fit they hard left narrative.

I would have to disagree as “ giving them away” was virtually what it was.
Ludicrous low prices.
Too many scummy landlords appeared and are still around

I think that its fair to say that many council tenants were given outrageously large discounts to buy their houses whilst those in private rentals or those who weren't living in council houses had to save up the deposits for their new homes themselves and received nothing in the way of help towards buying their homes off the government or local authority whilst subsidising council tenants discounts through their tax dollars.

As many of us will also know, families of many older tenants were clubbing together to buy grannies council house using the massive discounts on the buying price knowing full well that they would be cashing in during the following years following inevitable bereavement due to old age.

I don't quite understand how council tenants were in effect given many many thousands of pounds deposits to buy their homes whilst the rest of the public who didn't live in already subsidised rental housing received absolutely nothing in the way of help and had to save up their own deposits when purchasing a property.

The tragedy is we’re getting more smoke and mirrors and half the story from you. The Labour Government in power between 1997 and 2010 delivered social housing at a far higher rate that the Conservative Government.

While the Conservatives talk specifically about council houses and trace the shortage of affordable housing back to 1997 in fact the number of new council homes began to flatline shortly after Sir John Major succeeded Mrs Thatcher as Conservative PM. In 1994, the number of new council homes being built dipped below 1,000 for the first time.

The big difference was Labour put the emphasis on housing associations and social landlords as opposed to councils to provide affordable housing to those on low incomes. Labour were responsible for an increasing proportion of social house building from the early 1990s onwards. Between 1997 and 2010, some 350,000 housing association dwellings were built. When both housing association homes and council houses are considered as 1 entity, Labour built more affordable properties in 2009 than the Conservatives did in each year between 1987 and 1990.

You do know that Labour under Blair and Browns tenure, built approximately 10 times as many social houses/flats more that your Tory party in the years before ?
Perhaps not,

Probably am, but unfortunately some of the more hard of thinking and more gullible could be taken in by FJ’s BS and swallow it hook line and sinker. I always try to help people to see the bigger picture.

You seem to be joining in a gang attack on Felixstowe.
I note the praises from the likes of far left activists on here who see felix as a right wing demon .
Where is the sticking to topic and refraining from abuse much requested by Jonalot. It’s absent hee and it’s because felix seems to be a Tory.As simple as that .

Felix and I often disagree with we keep it tidy and others need to do the same

There has been far too much personal snide digs recently by posters getting away with “ murder”

You are not exactly in a position to criticise others for personal attacks

Merely pointing out the blatant inaccuracies in his post.

It's the modern way, debate has been replaced by personal insults, usually when people's fixed positions are challenged.

I think we all know the posters who ignore issues when they can't argue differently and like to label people. As my old man used to say.....don't argue with an idiot. I'd add especially one you don't even know on a football forum!
