Despite that only two of those games have been lost, the other five drawn. 0 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. All he has to do is show a progression. This means average points per game and a better goal difference. The actual progression is very small if not non existent. Last season improvement came with Christie and Wolff joining the club. This season loans have done very little compared to the Cooper loans and last seasons loans. Sorinola has been no better than an alternative already in the academy, Stevens does not play and Oko Flex is hardly seen. If the cannot get in the first team why is he wasting the clubs money and their time. If there is no progression he has to be big enough to admit there needs to be a change of approach as the players are now fully in tune with his methods and a year older. He has been given signing and given time. Now he must deliver for the sake of his won credibility. Three new experience loans funded by selling Manning would help his cause.

Incorrect. He has to show acceptable progression, that means achieving what is expected from the talent pool and investment, that is top 6-8. “Progression” from abysmal to utterly awful is not acceptable. An extra 0.1 points per game is not sufficient or acceptable progression. The bloke is a walking buzz word, “mentality” is his favourite. The moment he manages with mentality we may start to look like winning a game.

Maybe the game plan is over complicated after all football is really a simple game though you seem to make it not so. Why do you encourage player s to make risky passes in our defensive third yet discourage this in our attacking third? Pick players like Lati out of position which could expose them more to potential in making mistakes. While we are at it the first goal at Coventry came from a set piece scored by a tall defender yet he was being marked by Grimes....not one of our taller players ....how much prep work had been done on this? surely this threat should have been marked by the likes of Piroe or taller player in the team? This along with the report/article about Martin lasting the season is just yet another apologistic defence of this manager. Yes he is the manager of our club but for one who underperforms so much and 18 months on is showing no sign of learning other managers have received much more abuse and calls for the sack with less time served. He is defended by claims he is still early in his managerial career yet we had had managers on our past who got us promoted in succesive seasons Martin is in his fourth season as a manager and has never managed anything better than a midtable finish yet Tosh had us promoted in successive seasons in his first 3 years as a "rookie" manager and this without doing coaching courses like our Russy. I get it we sour stuck with him he has managed to us his salesman's charms to win over the ownership but in the long term im not sure its good for the club ...where is this seasons Downs ? Any way Happy Christmas

yeah, plenty of managers wer gone in less time and we've had rookie managers who did much better in less time. Rodgers and Martinez to start with. When Russ talks about mentality which kind exactly? We have a poor mentality around our own penalty area, constantly trying risky passes, then we have a poor menatlity around the oppo penalty area, refusing to try risky passes, often passing backwards from promising positions. Then we have Martin admitting shouting at a player NOT TO SHOOT, who asit turned out scored. So we are risk averse when attacking but absolutely carefree and negligent when defending. Berserk. Of coure when we are losing he puts on the better players and we come back to draw, why not start with them and try a novel idea, try scoring first. it may catch on one day.

It's not just self belief, I can't believe so many fans still cannot see it. Over 18 months and despite some small improvements, we have again slid backwards, no win in 7, no first goal in 7, boring, pedestrian, predictable football. What mind control systen does he use, it's blooming effective. If we hadn't sen us do so much better when we used a slightly different system with players he prefers on the bench I couldn't say so much, but we hve seen. Now it's groundho day on here, we go around in circles.

I’ve read he s a good coach . I’m told I’m tedious which is fair enough as fans reflect that which goes on at pitchside Our lifeblood is being sucked away It’s actually pretty sinister Players are coearlyn8nsettled,loan players brought in ignored yet dross players automatic starters

Last season when Fulton managed to be picked again after his early season exile, he seemed to have to fitted into the safe passing mode, one game he got beyond our attackers into a threatening position in the opposition's penalty box, the ball was played to his feet, with his back to goal, plenty of time to turn and shoot but he played the ball out of the penalty box into a non threatening position. No team communication or frightened to not follow orders and get exiled again? Nice to see he no longer seems as restricted in his play and he is taking responsibility with shots from outside the box and goals in the six yard box. Or lucky not to be exiled again because his play had positive results? Hope Matin picks a team that can move the ball quickly, has good movement and being away from home can defend solidly. Benda, Manning in his defensive mode at the start alongside Darling, Cabango and Wood. Grimes, Allen, Fulton in the middle, Cooper, Piroe and Oko-Flex up top. Hopefully a team that can adjust to defend and attack as required. Ntcham is a must on the bench and unfortunate not to in starting eleven would have been an option on the left where he seems quite comfortable.

We are all going around in circles . Fulton to me more of a must starter than Grimes . Absolutely one to be offered new contract. Same with Benda We can be so much better

This season we have Wood and Darling available at the back are they better than last years defence, I think so if used. Allen in for Downes is about on a par, youth against experience, Downes was wasted last year having to play sweeper for the paceless defence and middle midfield. Ollie Cooper provides us movement off the ball and competitiveness. Going round in circles but are they decreasing circles relying less on loan players like Downes, Wolf, Laird, Christie, Gibbs White, Gallagher, Guehi and a couple of American crocks who all eventually add nothing to the present squad.
