Its a case of getting what we can for Nits in it, I did like Jake when he was here though, he had plenty of decent moments, he is what he is !

| Jake Bidwell coming home? on 23:21 - Aug 31 with 2116 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Cooper had a tighter defence than Russ. Part of that was the grafters of Bidwell and Roberts leaving. They got their blocks in and the goals against down. Swansea in recent time have not been dong this. It was particularly evident v WBA. | |

He was the protection that Manning needed in front of him , Manning was a lot quicker but not as strong a defender while Bidewell was tried as the full back but with his lack of pace and Manning infront he didn't get the cover the team need in an already slow back four with Naughton, Guehi and Cabango. Naughton being a more experienced but also slower defender got the help needed from Roberts. Bidewell being strong helped in aerial battles and had a good cross and worked tirelessly to get from box to box he even lost some weight in his last year but given contract situation and presumably wages needed to be let go. If people can remember when he first played for us he was very reluctant to open his body out to let the ball cross his body onto his left foot when received from the inside to play down the line. Could left footed Bidewell do a job, he would need protection maybe but at 30 only if given a one year contract with an option for another year, only if number of games reached this season.

When we have done it, on most occasions it has not been productive and has cost us a lot of money! Currently the talk on the board is Bidwell and Lowe.... why doesn't someone nip down the eastside and ask Herbie if he still has his togs. We need a centre half.

Because it smacks of desperation but if it fits then why not but as you say not for stupid money.

True , a short term fix though .Don't get me wrong I'd welcome him back but this would show that lessons still haven't been learnt. In a bidding war on the last day of the transfer window for a much need position .

Didn't Coventry fancy 'Pato' this time last year? Jake for Pato? The savings we'd make on Pato's wages, would mean we wouldn't be paying another full wage for Jake? [Post edited 1 Sep 2023 14:22]
