So f.....g what. His highest placed finish in his managerial career was 10th. at Swansea. Time to fasten seat belts! π pulled off Southamptons fans forum

Losing at CRdiff will really bring it home to Duffers what a job he has . Any support he has could evaporate with a heavy loss . New defenders need to start. Present oneβs arenβt good enough.

Correct. The Swans donβt spend a few millions pounds plus half a million getting a manager and his staff out of their previous employment and sack them after five league games. Duff has at least ten more game.

We don't normally employ poor managers that deserve the sack. Currently the jury is out on this one only time will tell.

Agree although the owners set a precedent by not sacking Martin after how many losses was it ?

If we carry on as we are, they will have little option but to fire him and accept they made a mistake . Iβm hoping Darren Moore still be available Btw,this is normal fan chat

| Russ is getting found out π on 14:42 - Sep 4 with 735 views | cadleigh | I'm with Keith and UJ on this one - Duff has a three year contract (why in the name of God did they do that AGAIN after the experiences with Cooper and Martin?!!!), they won't sack him in a hurry, no matter how unhappy the supporters get. They obviously lost their nerve when the fans turned on them over Bradley, but this is nothing like that situation. Much as I got annoyed when supporters of RM insisted that our run(s) of awful results were simply a case of "fine margins" going the wrong way for us, we have in fact only lost games by the odd goal so far this season. Plug that leaky defence and there's no reason why we can't be mid-table at Christmas. The thing that baffles me is why Duff hasn't played Naughton at LB rather than forcing Key to play out of position. I guess he has his reasons but it makes no sense to me. Main reason I lost faith in Martin was his stubborness. Really hoping Duff isn't the same. | |

Why Darren Moore ? His Sheffield team was horrible to watch last year.

Key has been playing out of position in every game I've seen this year. Perhaps he thought he needed to protect Ashby as he seemed to be struggling but also didn't want to disrupt the left hand side but this led to Key still wanting to push forward and linking well with Ginnelly but without any protect for the left hand side and Wood, we saw similar last year with Manning. As for using Naughton on either side as a full back would be a mistake given what we have seen over a number of years. Naughton was already on a yellow card and I thought should have been taken off well before we conceded the goals. Nice to see Key then playing on the right and although that in some ways isolated Ginnelly as Paterson usually turns inside. I prefer Cooper on the left hand side even after his usual industrial start to games, he faded similar to last year game against Bristol as Pearson made changes to close the spaces for him perhaps a bit of advise on how to nullify that marking by encourage different movement or rotation with his teammates. At the moment we are too disjointed as a team resulting in slow movement of the ball, no partnerships have been built enabling us to be defensively strong and keep a constant threat up front. Banking on the new players in to help but Duff may have too many balls in the air to juggle with.
