Millwall are next up for Michael Duff’s Swans, unbeaten in two games ! And on a winning streak of one game as well. Can it get any better ?

The Indy Saturday supplement : Millwall v Swansea City 30th Sep 2023 08:00
It’s game day in the Indy as we cover all the latest news on Swansea City as they take on possibly their toughest test of the season so far, Millwall at the New Den. 0

Swansea City cruise to a 3-0 win at the New Den : Pics : Stats : Report 30th Sep 2023 17:57
It wasn’t the hardest of tests, and an indifferent Millwall who have had an inconsistent start to the season provided the Swans with little resistance this afternoon. However that’s three games undefeated, one goal conceded and seven scored. The Swans move up to nineteenth in the Sky Bet Championship. Below is everything you need on the game. The report, stats, and much more. 0

😂Rhondda mate, your enthusiasm can’t be faulted.

But promotion contenders?

Of course anything can happen but there are at least 6 better sides than us at the moment. I’d be more likely to say that we are not relegation candidates. But again, anything can happen.

We are lacking pace for a start, only Lowe seems to possess that.
Defensively, we can be all over the shop. We were to start with today but got better.
We are not winning many second balls. Today highlighted that.
We are getting too many injuries. I hope Patino is ok and Yates is only a dead leg.

The main thing is there are signs of improvement.

Back to back 3-0 wins and no-one can say its only relagation fodder we can hammer.
You know Millwall are a tough team.
When I was watching the game the u21s come into my mind they are looking strong.
We are starting to click together and look like a Swansea we can all get on board with.
Rushworth was amazing today, Jamal Lowes pace is also another piece of the jigsaw we were missing.
His closing down and rushing out of defence was class, actually seeing a speedster again in Swansea colours!

If we carry on this way there is no reason with a good January window why we can be top 6 minimum.
Cardiff think they are on top now but if they were our next game we would batter them.
Even through the bad form we haven't been battered this season.
I think in the u21s that DC United lad is getting upto full match fitness he will be in the team soon.
This is the Swansea we all deserve!

Norwich up next who shipped 6 goals v Plymouth.
Things are looking up.

Poll: If Cardiff come back up would you want the bubble scrapped ?

Good solid performance today. Still a long way to go to cement a mid-table place. I thought Lowe did well. He wasn't training with the 'Muff first team and it will take him a few games to get up to speed. Overall we still need to improve, and are light in some positions.

I said I couldn’t criticise today, but one minor one. The football we played at 3-0, both today and against Wednesday was lovely. It wasn’t just keeping possession in our own half with no inertia like we sometimes did under Martin. We moved up the pitch with control and purpose, playing pass and move football.

Why can’t we do that at 0-0 or 1-0? The players are clearly comfortable doing it and it doesn’t mean we can’t play the odd ball over the full back for Lowe to chase. We weren’t committing huge numbers to it and weren’t vulnerable on the counter when we lost possession.

A win is a win so am happy about that but so many things worry me, my biggest takeaway is the big ukraine guy is what i thought, a massive danger, needs more game time, needs to have his confidence built, he can be massive for us, i sense it in my soul but as is always the case our strikers are lonelier than most and get no service

Not seen anything of today so can't comment. Duff ? I think the bloke is a p***k .. do I want him as our manager? NO....
but back to back 3/0 wins , regardless of the opposition has to be respected...
Will I go back to watching us? Regardless of the fact if I don't I've wasted £400+ on a ST ....who knows...

No he's not ..and I wasn't disappointed to see RM go either, if that's what you are eluding too.
My issue with Duff is his comments before the Cardiff game about it's importantance and the resulting embarrassing performance which I turned off after 60 min..., and his comments about the Swansea way is history.
All the success we've achieved over the last 20 yrs is due to the 'Swansea way'.
And if he wants his team to hoof it up the field in the hope we win in back further upfield, fine...but I won't be travelling 100 mile round trip to watch it and will go to the rugby on a Saturday pm where you hoof it upfield with the hope of winning it back further upfield.

I've not seen us hoof it this season....yes at times we have cleared our lines rather than try to play purselvesnout of trouble but a Pullis/Warnock side we are not.
too much emphasis is put on the derby for me....lets be honest you take the doube doube away and the fraud achieved nothing

The middle bit of that sails over the heads of people who don’t like the idea of us having a footballing identity.

Most of the time I’ve been following us, we’ve played football more similar to Duffs than Martinez’. It’s true we only played that kind of football for around a decade.

It’s no coincidence that most of the time I have been following us was spent in the lower leagues playing the same kind of football as everyone else.

I totally agree, take the double double away and RM achieved the square root of f**k all .
The derby game? All we did was hoof it down the channels...and made them look like Barcelona... just my view .. he's got a long way to go to win me over... regardless of results..
I've had a ST with my son for 20 yrs (every yr in the stadium actually) . My sons job has taken him to Kent and I moved to Cardiff 7 yrs ago and also follow rugby, so if I'm going to prioritise a 100 mile round trip on a Sat pm as opposed to going two miles down the road to watch the rugby and enjoy a few pints with my mates I need to justification. Duffball doesn't give me the justification.
However, I will obviously want us to win.

I've sipported/watched us for 50 years
....I've seen some really crap football during that time and some stunning stuff but the Swans are my team managers their styles and players are transitory but the Swans are everlasting as is my support. The football I saw over the last 2 seasons was dull...Duffs football os more akin to that of Tosh during those golden years but each to their own

Forget Russell Martin.

It depends what you class as a hoof.i don’t think anyone has an issue with centre backs launching it when they are under pressure.

We’ve had plenty of ‘speculative’ long balls to the likes of Yates, Cullen and Lowe, in the wide channels, expecting them to battle for an aerial ball against bigger, stronger defenders, often isolated and hold it up.

That kind of pass is a hoof to me. It bypasses midfield and the player it’s aimed at doesn’t have much chance of winning it and even less chance of retaining it.

If you mean we haven’t been playing like Wimbledon and Cambridge used to, launching balls at big centre forwards, then no, we haven’t been doing that.

How many games have we had where we have been able to as fans go into the last ten minutes in an at ease, relaxed, cruise control mode. It just seems so long ago or is my memory that short?

He’s trying to do the right thing without the players, that’s our lot atm.
Being critical Cullen was pretty invisible today. But he run about a lot.

The injuries concern me more currently. Yates and Pedersen joining the others on the treatment table. Thankfully we haven’t got a game this week.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
