| After 9 home games on 11:34 - Nov 26 by jack247 | That’s a bit of a cop out. You’re criticising the fans as a collective. I’m not disagreeing about the atmosphere, but you could at least give credit to those who show up when others don’t fancy it. |
I took a friend with me yesterday and he was shocked at the negativity coming from the home crowd especially after our very impressive performance in the first half. The Swansea.com crowd's support is never that good and if the North East corner is quiet then we are in trouble.

In recent times I agree, but to get another Nottingham Forest play off semi final atmosphere the fans of the club need to feel welcome. They clearly don’t with a four thousand drop in early season crowds. Falling footfall in the club shop etc. The whole thing feels like an experiment in smoke and mirrors and sleight of hand. There’s far too many unanswered questions and as long as they are things will just get worse.

To be honest, I didn’t think we were brilliant in the first half. We had a cracking spell for 20 minutes or so from Patersons goal. We didn’t create a lot before that. The move leading up to Patersons shot for Yates’ goal was electric and we could have ended the game in that spell, but it wasn’t close to a full half. I’m not disputing the point about the atmosphere at all, I agree with OHL on it. I just wouldn’t have had the temerity to watch at home then criticise people who went.

We were playing free flowing football and blowing teams away back then. Plus there was an inner belief it was our year, particularly after playing almost the whole first leg with 10 men. Start doing that, reach the playoffs and the atmosphere will be raucous. I don’t personally feel any more or less welcome than I did back then. The difference is the football is dour, we don’t impose ourselves on teams and we rarely win at home.

| After 9 home games on 10:37 - Nov 26 by builthjack | What would happen if we all decided not to attend? The club would fold. As fans we have to take the rough with the smooth. I can’t stand our owners. I think the manager is completely the wrong fit. The recruitment isn’t good. A lot of the players are below the standard we need. But run from the front line? Never. |
it's not running from the front line it's football, it's entertainment, or not as it stands right now. The Swans don't deserve my business just because they are there. There is no loyalty from the players or the owners so why should fans stay loyal? It's just good money after bad. If people keep turning up the owners will keep pulling this stuff, maybe the cleverest thing to do is hit them where it hurts, make them realise things have to change. Besides, they wouldn't fold, they'd maybe get relegated which isn't out of the question as things are anyway. Then maybe the owners would sell up? Who knows.

| After 9 home games on 09:39 - Nov 26 by onehunglow | Because ,those of us who watched it via stream ,get that impression. Even Andy Robby called it out. The fact you go doesn’t mean you should get defensive . When we were two goals down, there seemed no encouragement at all to get into them . You can deny it all you want and carry on your personal crap. |
Listening to Robinson yesterday he was more enamoured by the Hull players than ours . I never went yesterday due to family business but It is hard to complain about the crowds efforts when there's really nothing much to shout about., The quietness i of the crowd has been noticeably well before this season and I sit just off the east ne corner so I can comment ..

They are already being hit in the pocket. Gates are down, which means match day tickets are down because season tickets are already counted in. Hospitality is down, hence the offers. Food and drink sales are down as are the comercial sales. When things start to spiral downwards it takes a massive shift to reverse it. Resolven is right when he says about redundancies, there will have to be with a lower gross spending. Meanwhile we spend more money on wages at the top end. It does make you wonder are the owners complete idiots or does vanity rule.

I believe to them we are not fans or supporters but customers, who will return when results pick up. This may well be true, but if this carries on much longer supporters will find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. The biggest difference now is live streaming, get into the habit of watching the games on TV and it is a hard habit to kick. It will need a full match day experience with atmosphere to encourage fans back, not a couple of fireworks and a band playing in the car park, this is not America.

They've been brought up with sports that take up the whole day with customers spending their wages on merchandise, hot dogs, popcorn and coca cola. [Post edited 26 Nov 2023 18:22]

yeah they'd probably be in favour of the idea mooted a few years back, an EPL 2 with no relegation. They need to wake up and realise this is British football and USA pizzaz and showmanship doesn't win us over, what happens on the pitch wins us over, owners who aren't full of BS would help. I've more or less backed them, understanding the necessity of some financial deisions but now they've moved more to the dea there's one born every minute and there are 18000 minutes coming to games no matter what, the drop in crowds should be a warning, we aren't the mugs they think we are, not all of us.

And, here we have a bloke who continually criticises the fans who attend games. He has done so for years, a so called fan who couldn’t even be bothered to attend our appearances at Wembley….sad.

| After 9 home games on 10:20 - Nov 26 by jack247 | I’m not criticising you for not going. I live in Swansea and go to 3 or 4 away games a year. I’m hardly a super fan. At the same time, I wouldn’t ever criticise fans at a game I watched in my living room, whether they’d travelled 450 miles or lived by the ground. Unfortunately the most vociferous and ‘passionate’ fans these days seem to be on the internet. |
