If Key is unavailable who are we going to play at right back and if it is one of our centrehalves who will play in front of them to protect them.
Humpreys got caught out for the Southampton goal, as soon as the extra play got back to help him he should have ensured that they couldn't get the cross, showed his inexperience in the position.
I understand the needs to replace injured players and rest some at this time with the number of games so close but swapping players too many players around just spoils any continuity a manager is trying to build. Would have been better off leaving Humphreys in the middle and put Wood at right back as Wood had looked quite comfortable there in last seasons early run of form. | | | |
