But despite praise for a return to the 'Swansea Way' style of playing, Peter from Port Talbot was far from convinced."Until we stop playing this style of football we aren’t going to be able to go anywhere," he told the show. "We were caught out four times mucking about at the back. It’s nonsense football.

"Tapping the ball back to the keeper and centre backs and we end up losing the ball under pressure. The opposing centre backs must be laughing thinking they’ve got a day off.
"It’s boring football, they can make 20 or 30 passes and still be in your own half. The supporters want fast-flowing football, not tap it here, tap it there, going on and on and then losing the ball."

Clare knows her onions.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Just hope the transition Luke wants isn’t forced on them too quickly.

Bar going out and actually winning a game instead of the ridiculous happening against Birmingham.

Very insightful that Pete, i wish someone had told Barca, Spain, and Man Citeh before they all wasted their time trying to win things by keeping the ball.

How did we do it last time? By instilling a philosophy over time and having gradual improvements in recruitment. We would be a lot further along if our owners kept this in mind when we lost players and managers, instead of changing tact each time.

The way we placed previously was light years away from what we have seen

Yes and we started from a lower position instilling a football philosophy that got better and better. It’s not easy to do that starting in the Championship as too many teams will capitalise on the mistakes. If we want to do it that way and don’t have the players then we’d need to go back down and start all over again. Or we strike lucky with new players. Or we invest in proven players.

Exactly, we are set up to regress not progress. Build and develop a squad then rip it apart every window to get as much cash in as we can. How can that be good for long term club development and progress.

I think quite a few would disagree with you AND lets see what happens under the new guy.

Peter may be proved dead right! Hopefully not though, I hope Williams gets us playing decent attacking football but marshalls our defence better than Notts County!

He is, of course, quite correct, as Michael Laudrup himself identified when he first came into the club. Possession for the sake of possession is pointless and idiotic. If you've got the ball you need to do something with it. Needless and risky defensive passing just leaves you wide open for opposing teams to exploit, which we saw far too often during the last two years.

If this is part of Williams' plan going forward then in about 12-18 months time we'll probably be looking for a manager again. I would hope he's significantly smarter than that.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Mostly because it's a hell of a lot more expensive to run a Championship club now than it was fifteen years ago.

As a club we have a choice. Spend in an effort to be "competitive" and have to look for at least one sale per season in order to cover the expense or try and hunt around for bargains and do things "on the cheap".

The last time around we could get away with the latter because most supporters were just happy to be here after 2003. Nowadays after a good few years of success they're mostly spoiled children. Despite significant eight figure sums being put into the club to cover ongoing losses apparently that's not enough and we're still not showing adequate "ambishun".

If the club made a serious effort to live within its means there would be riots about the lack of transfer activity.

We could be a lot more effective it we were balanced with sales and buys. Replacing Piroe with Yates and expecting to progress was just stupid.
