Allen back in Wales contention? on 16:43 - Sep 27 by ReslovenSwan1 | You must be real confident "Lovely boy Joey" will reject the offer right?. Watch this space. It is a real time loyalty test. We all know playing for Wales is bad for Swansea at 34. At 24 it is great as with Ollie. [Post edited 27 Sep 16:45]

Allen back in Wales contention? on 11:37 - Sep 27 by onehunglow | Morning A decent reply and thought provoking However,I would suggest the national rugby team has greater prominence than the national football team . Anyway, that’s the way to respond so thanks Site Rules . Read them |
It wasn’t a knock at rugby. More me saying there’s nothing wrong with seeing sport as a social event and going to enjoy the day out.

Allen back in Wales contention? on 13:22 - Sep 27 by ReslovenSwan1 | There is a strong Anglophile slant on here. There is nothing wrong with this actually. It belongs to the old valleys culture who were Welsh but turned their TV aerial to HTV West to avoid the Welsh language shows before S4C was formed. Welsh nationalism is not nasty like English nationalism is.Thwrs are not exceptions of course which all pro Welsh people condemn. Supporting Wales is not a threat to anyone. Allen for Wales is a backward step especially as the games now are the Nations league designed for giving younger players a chance. Bellers pulled star man Colwill from the u21 and he did not kick a BBC all. |
Two things, where is your evidence that Stoke are Allen's greatest love? he has been with Swansea a much longer time, albeit in 2 spells. Before S4C, why did people turn their aerials to avoid prigrammes that were hardly ever broadcast? Now Welsh nationalism...not nasty? Pull the other one. Welsh nats can be very nasty and equally as nasty to other Welsh people as to non Welsh. Where is the proof of an Anglophile slant on here? I'm not fond of the English but I am British AND Welsh. There are Welsh people who'd criticise me for saying I am also British, for not being a fluent Welsh speaker or for (shock horror) daring to criticise the Senedd.

It is not the language that matters but the content I see much evidence on here of anti English . Welsh speakers are a small minority of our fan base However, there are a greater majority on here ,with the inevitable bad mouthing I see posters being referred to as anglophone .nThis is crazy . It is absolutely offensive and can’t see how it helps this site Were told not to provoke . Yeah baby

It is a free country and the ignore button is available for the sensitive. Joey played his best football and prime years at Stoke signing two contacts there. When Stoke dispensed with him realizing his is injury issues affecting his output Joey joined Swansea who grossly overpaid him to keep the fans happy. John Hartson tried the same trick of using Swansea as a pension scheme but the club has Martinez as manager not Martin and declined to take him. Hartson then played four games for Norwich and then retired due to weight and fitness issues. Truth hurts best to ignore. [Post edited 28 Sep 11:51]

If he respects Swansea city he will reject this offer as we all know it is highly probable he will get injured. Colwill is much better than him these days and must be developed if Bellamy has the cahones. The decision will be announced soon. I am pretty sure Williams has told him to reject it.

It's is proven Swansea city was never Joey s first love. Wipe the tears from you eyes fans. It is love and it can hurt. Better to love and lost than never loved at all..

Every time he comes on we fall apart. Not just his fault but those that come on as well.

Think he has been better suited to playing a first half role creating a fast route forward for 60 or 70mins rather than coming on late where Grimes has already dictated how we are going to finish the game off by dropping deeper. So can see him starting for Wales giving his experienced head and the loss of Ramsey and Ampadu and coming off later.

Our squad is just not strong enough to play the 16 man football that is required in the modern game.

The Coventry game wasn’t bad when him , jay and Kyle come on they run the clock down nicely . But it can be hit or miss.

Allen back in Wales contention? on 13:28 - Oct 2 with 430 views | swancity | Allen retired from international football last season. He’s done nothing since to warrant a recall and at 34 this makes you question the judgement of the Wales manager. He’s not fit enough now. He won’t be playing too much football this season. It’s a crazy decision to recall him but then this won’t be the first or last questionable decision that Bellamy has or will make. He’s not an international manager is he despite the fact that he seems to have grown up a bit …

We hung on at the end, and yes employing hit and miss tactics isn’t a strategy any manager should employ.

Normally I’d agree with this, but he’s been put in such a difficult position squad wise, I can see the logic of trying to win the game in the first hour then hang on. We’re going to be second best nearly every game from the time the subs start coming on.
