Sadly not. Captaincy is the last thing Galbraith needs he’s already carrying half the team with him. No to Ben, we should have given it to Darling leaving or not. Tymon could be a dark horse or Stamenic but with Burgess in such awful form I’d contemplate dropping him for Casey or even Santos.

Agree it would demotivate Cabango if he was stripped now. Matos should have done it from day 1 of his appointment if he felt it needed changing. He's missed that boat so can't see Cabango being stripped now.
Pressure off may help him though to just focus on his own game. Stamenic or Burgess for me, simply because I wouldn't want Galbraith to have that pressure put on him either and affect his performances.
I respectfully disagree. Matos still has time and the authority to name a new captain. For me it has to be Stamenic. Matos needs to make the change now, or as you've stated, he will have "missed the boat" if not done very soon.
In Stamenic, Matos should have a private chat and point out why MS is his man to lead the team. Hopefully, having the head coach's confidence will give MS the inspiration to play a much more aggressive role and help shore up the team's defensive struggles.

Stamenic is too static ,slow and plays too many sideways and back balls , if he changes then yes but if he continues to play the way he has been,then he’s not even an automatic choice so how could he be captain

It’s got to be someone who is virtually guaranteed to play when available.
In my opinion (and I guess most others) Galbraith, Franco and Stamenic are our best three midfielders. This doesn’t necessarily make them the best midfield trio though, there may not be enough creativity or attacking intent.
Galbraith is probably the only guaranteed starter in midfield, though that may change when Matos has time to assess everyone properly.
Where I do agree with you, is Matos is in a position to make a change if he sees fit. I do think it may be demotivating, but it’s a lot easier to swallow from a new manager with fresh ideas.
