| Swansea City v Coventry City : Match day thread on 18:06 - Mar 21 by Ray_Delauney | Context is key: yes we're losing, but Matos was employed to drag us away from relegation. And as far as I can see that's mission accomplished. |
And there’s me thinking he was employed to improve players Proof is right in front of you Coventry are a big strong team who finish We are small weak and give the ball away Coaches improve

He may as well give Walta a run out. How is he going to get used to the Championship from the bench. A back three core of Cabango Burgess and Fulton are solid Championship players but somewhat wooden. Lissah will help here next season perhaps.

I think the fact that this is going to be our first loss at home in 11 games (against the league leaders) is improvement in my book. But you don't see it that way - that's your opinion friend.

Friend What I see is us still walking the ball creating nothing Now , if you think that’s acceptable that’s your issue Looking around Phil’s site, seems a few other natives are restless with those complaining described as entitled Pity our fans dint show the same passion as they do ripping into fellow fans PS Tell me why Ronald is still on pitch

I'm looking at the bigger picture: we were where Portsmouth are now when Matos arrived, and now we're making plans for next season in the Championship. That'll do for me this season.

He should developing expensive players with attacking intent who are not getting game time like Walta with a view to next season. Perhaps trying out Key in more forward position. Sam Parker has vanished and NO local talent has been tested.

But we didn't give Ronald the ball to feet higher up the pitch, we resorted to the long ball over the top so the full backs drop off he should then have the space to have it to feet how many times does he look as if he has the beating of a full back even getting them carded and then we stop using him, some question his cross but he has a number of assists and trying to create things with slow ball from the backs and the support from the midfield drops off as they tire given the work rate expected. Variety in the supply to forwards is paramount. We create chances and stupid play in our own half¹ [Post edited 21 Mar 19:51]

A serious question here Keith. 8 of our starting 11 were here last season, it may well have been 9 if Key was fit. Don't you think that with all the players we have brought in and as we are nearly at the end of the season the starting 11 should have improved by now or has it been poor recruitment. The old chestnut of players needing time to adjust has worn thin by now.

Giving the ball to Ronald means giving the ball to the opposition Why does he get selected ? Why? What does he bring Why stick EG at RB which weakens midfield creativity especially when Fan Favourite Fulton starts which means balls passed sideways or backwards Why start EOM ? Anyone , why? That was down to Matos Every goal conceded They train They are not improving Disappointing

| Swansea City v Coventry City : Match day thread on 19:58 - Mar 21 with 1793 views | Dr_Winston | First half performance was better than the scoreline suggested. They took their chances, we didn't. Half time sub basically neutralised any tempo we had. Widell is not a winger. Three central midfielders with no attacking player is not the way forward. Again and again we keep reverting to it despite it plainly not working. | |

I think we need to play three at the back with Tymon and Key/Ronald as wing backs and go from there, we should have done it when Casey was here.
| Swansea City v Coventry City : Match day thread on 20:06 - Mar 21 with 1754 views | wwcigne | To be fair we did hit the woodwork twice and missed a couple of presentable chances but the negatives far outweigh any positives we conceded a penalty and 2 really bad gifted goals so you’d think we’d replace Fulton and Ronald who gave nothing,at halftime and go for it second half …… no what we did was revert to default setting ,0:3 down and play sideways and back ,slow boring, negative ,pointless football for 20 minutes before any proper subs Matos seems happy to just keep the ball with no attacking intent ,he doesn’t seem to see what everyone else in the ground could When Vig did go long with goal kicks ,he took so long to take them the pressing players had run back to the halfway line and marked our players up When we did go at them we caused problems but we didn’t do it often enough We also let their wingers receive the ball with no Swansea players within 10 yards so they could attack us down the wing and get crosses in ,why oh why don’t we mark opponents wide men tighter it happens every game and more often than not leads to us conceding on the other hand ours get marked tight and nullified as an attacking threat This was another performance down to Matos I’m afraid, he doesn’t seem to know or be able to deal with teams who attack us or when we need to get back into games, very worrying for the future | | | |

I am opposed to the bones of my DNA to three at the back. Think we have to write this season off and plan for the next. RB cover/competition and a ball playing CB are certs. We need to properly embed Walta into the side in pre-season. Fulton played more forward passes in the first half than Stamenic has in weeks but ideally neither would start that often. Galbraith at six, Widell at eight, Walta at ten. Plus at least one winger.

Never a 3-0 game ,we had 3 very good chances to score but the bar , post and indecesion was the master .Prior to the penalty thsy had one weak shot but a bit of madness by our defence created our own problems ,anyone with abitions of seeing us compete with the top sis will see we've only beaten Wrexham of those six and the gap in ability is there all to see.It was good to see we kept the scoreline respectable and mark it off as another lesson learned .

The only humilation going on here fella is you. Utterly predictable that you'd be on here creaming your pants after a defeat. Most people hold you in utter contempt.

I will be surprised if Galbraith is still here next season, my only hope is the Vipotnik sale is big enough to turn down Galbraith offers. I think we will have offers for both full backs so our defence will need a complete rebuild if they go, Lissah coming back will be a massive help. We can't just rebuild every summer, last year just didn't work, will we finish higher this season than last?
