Good news, hope it comes to fruition and not just another artist’s impression we will dig up in years to come.

Anyway, at least Cardiff have the heads up so they can get a bigglier better aquarium. It’s only fair😒

We'll still have the Prison taking up prime land near sea front, could turn that into an upmarket hotel with a Wetherspoons alongside

I'd have thought most of the inmates were Weatherspoon customers

Not been for a while, could have gone yesterday, but parking would have been a nightmare, went up to The National Tap in Aberdare just off Cardiff St.

Its Grey Trees Breweries Pub, lovely ales they make to. Afghan Ale is 5.4% but my favourite is Mosaic Ale, but Diggers Gold, Drummer Boy and their new one Into the Valley are all decent tried them all yesterday finished off with a pint of Afghan

That place is a gem....

My mate lives about 50 yards from it and I'm overdue a visit....

Their Black Road Stout is hands down the best I've ever tasted....

I don't buy into all the outrage about the trees coming down on Kilvey Hill.

I'm old enough to remember when very little grew up there at all because of all the shit in the soil. A big reason why they made a conscious effort to plant it with spruce/fir types in the first place is because they were found to be the best varieties to both grow and soak up all the chemicals.

As far as I recall the eventual plan was always to get rid of them and replant it with oak, ash, willow etc once they could be grown there. A couple of years ago (might happen every year) people were encouraged to go and cut their own Christmas Trees.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

The was more than a few sampling that, I was there for the Pale Ales, but I was tempted I'm a big fan of Guinness so I will try it next time I go there, atmosphere is decent as well.

We parked up above the police station, its free after 10am on a Saturday, my Mrs was driving, Cafe on the corner so I treated the Mrs with a decafe latte

Regasrdles of what existed there 40 50 years ago most Swansea residents remember the hill with trees on it and their clearing whats on there now not to replant but remove .Whats your opinion of the council tax payer having to give the comapny up to 10 million for the privilage ,now it maybe a loan but its coming out of our reserves at best.

I would expect the council to offer incentives to attract businesses to the area. Whether that's loans at a favourable rate, a light touch planning process or cuts in council tax/rates etc. Better than discouraging these businesses in the first place.

And I don't much care if some of the trees are removed and not replaced. They're scrubby spruces. It's not as if hundred year old oaks are making way.

The local residents use to enjoy setting fire to them every year as they burn easily.

A native woodland, well managed would be much more fire resistant especially as the drop their leave in the Winter.

A creditable post this actually. Yes you are right. Horrible trees coming down and Welsh oaks and broad leaves being planted.

No one talks about 'Welsh oaks' but we were hugging Oaks naked and painted blue before the English even existed, If you ever need to do this again explain to the SWP is is in your genes.

I would be cool if the new railway station incorporated the skyline structure but lets not get carried away.

Racism is defined by human perception
I views some matters deeply racism yet more apparent ones as not
This poster has been posting incredulous overt and vicious racist material the like of which turns my stomach, material straight out of an Alfred Rosenberg framework
Pure ( Welsh) blood , mixed( English) unions . This credible

I’ve no idea how many English readers we have but I feel ashamed to see such utter filth on a site representing my birth city

PS O had to look up that paragraph
That’s not Saunders Lewis is it ?

I cannot understand why some in Wales have so much hate for the English and many of whom aren't even bilingual which suggests their ancestors were probably English in the first place !!

We are basically the same people forged genetically by thousands of years even before the Romans...

We are British of Great Britain and the slow drip feed of foriegn DNA has added to and enriched that mix over the millenia...

The bucket of salt in the melting pot that is the unprecedented mass immigration of millions in a few decades is the problem that faces us in terms of cultural erosion not our shared ancestry...
