In some areas, including Southern Water. If you claim benefits with three kids you can ignore the hosepipe ban, go to work with three kids and the ban applies.

Ste
You pay a fixed amount?
Don’t
This is simply too much
Get billed monthly and pay dd just for that month

If , like me you use little gas in the summer months, why pay for gas not used
Our electric bills are pretty inform summer or winter and that’s including charging an EV

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

I like to build a little pot up to help in the wetter colder months when the tumble drier is at its peak and heating is on, youngest goes through clothes like its going out fashion, eldest works from home twice a week on average as well.

I used to do it because it was psychologically comforting to know you had that credit.

Now though I pay by DD every month à la Richie.

Martin Lewis is the guide light for this
Unless one is living on a very tight budget and has no savings at all there is no need to bank credit to pay for winter bills
As I say and repeat , the big six make billions out of this simply using customer ignorance or insouciance
Electricity for many is pretty uniform throughout the year
Gas obviously the biggest expense which fluctuates most

I don’t work for Octopus btw

They offer 50 notes to any new customer and to those who recommend

I’d be prepared to recommend you and you can have my £ 50 so you’re £100 in bank straight off

I know Starmer has gone but didn't Labour say they were going to look after "working people".

They will whilst creating massive amounts of debt. That’s what Labour do.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Like Blair saying that University should be for everyone and making it the norm, whilst the vast majority pile up a massive debt for a qualification they dont really need.

Read my post Ray
Pay month dd
No need to build up credit
It’s what they want

They make millions in interest from customers who do this. It’s convenient for the customer, but chucking half of it into a savings account returns more for the individual.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

You’re right and I think people are getting wise to this and lots of youngsters are putting a lot more thought into whether university is right for them.

The new education secretary it talking more about skills which IMO is laudable but we need a bigger conversation about what school is for.

At the moment success is only measured by standardised exam grades. It needs to be recognised that success can be in many different forms.

Totally agree. In recent years University has been in many cases just snobbery by parents to say "my child is in University, look how clever they are". The facts are some need to go to University to get the qualifications to pursue their chosen career, many others are just wasting their time without a thought for the debt they are piling up.
