Nice to see the close inter play worked, teams have closed that interplay down and it has become to tight and wrong options are taken, it happens, nice to see the pressure it brings in the right areas of the pitch, players getting control of the ball knowing when to hold onto the ball to stand opposition players up allowing the correct pass and movement to open the opposition up, pace out wide to keep the defenders guessing where the passes are going and giving the wingers the time to allow support to give them options, I thought that the left side got crammed at times but good play or inept marking got us out of those tight areas to give us scoring opportunities. What I also like was we managed at times to play successfully through the middle of the park allowing us to progress up the pitch effectively. Did Stoke have chances that on another day they might have taken, as a team we got back from going one nil down we didn't against Birmingham hope we continue that upturn in results.

What i was impressed with was we defended very well especially later on in the game where they threw more players forward and that we looked good on the break after scoring the second and we could have easily got a third.
Im hoping that the confidence is oozing after the win and it carries on for this Saturday.
I finally got to watch the whole match last night and have to say my misgivings about Stamenic and Fulton together were definitely misplaced , both played really well and Stamenic is much better playing further forward, I thought everyone played well ,Welsh in his first start was great ,on the floor and in the air ,making one outstanding clearing header ,some of the fast attacking football we played was stunning and the movement and passing for both goals was superb ,Idah taking his goal particularly well
Your point about Stoke creating chances is spot on , home teams should be on the front foot and will always create opportunities,but our defence were for the most part up to the job It looks like Stoke’s main attacking plan is through Thomas and set pieces ,using their height advantage, they will probably score a few this season that way , but they didn’t against us and that’s what counts

The difference this time out is the accuracy of our passing in the final third. When passing is that accurate and players are always making themselves available to receive the ball it’s very difficult for any opposition to stop. Our goals were great demos of this.

A great result can't remember when we won on the opening day away from home and a fab win at Stoke which of late has not been a happy hunting ground for us. As others have said some nice football and amazing to think only 5 outfield starters from the team of last season

Spoke to builthy yesterday, as he couldnt go he watched it on the box, he mentioned that cabango was talking to the back 4 constantly, especially welsh, as I said on sat as tbe game wore on welsh got better, as you said that header close to the end was magnificent, if he didnt get anything on it that big lump gallagher could have got a good chance at scoring.
I am so happy for welsh, looks like hes made that position his own.

I think we were lucky that it was match day 1 as further into the season Sorba woukd have buried that chance that Vig saved.
I agree, the defence got better throughout the game but two slips in the box resulted in a goal and a near miss - Fulton then Cabango. Also, we were caught out a few times with through balls and balls over the top. To be a top 6-8, the defence needs to be better than that first half showing and hopefully with Welsh getting more experience it will. Sadly, I still have my doubts about Cabango but I hope these will prove to be unfounded.
